Janice had married right out of high school to her high school sweet heart and as is common with most young people, she was not ready for marriage and either was he. Unfortunately neither one of them made this realization until she was pregnant with her second child. Jim nodded his head yes. Young-Hui guided his hand to the mouse and said, “Now I want you to move the mouse back and forth. You should feel less strain on your forearm. Do you feel that?” Jim shook his head yes again.
Young-Hui continued, “Now I want you to continue moving the mouse back and forth. You should notice how much more relaxing your computer station is now that I have made these changes. Go ahead, feel the relaxation of moving the mouse back and forth, back and forth. Look down at your hand and notice how much less strain you feel.”
Young-Hui watched Jim and was glad to see that he glanced down at his hand and continued to stare at it. This was a good test of suggestibility and he appeared to be passing the test with flying colors. A glazed look was just starting to form and Young-Hui was fairly confident that Jim would soon be hypnotized. The next part of the test was to go from calling him Mr. Franklin to Jim and see if he protested. It was easier for an older woman to do this because Jim did not feel any threat from her.
Young-Hui said, “That’s good Jim. Are you noticing how relaxed you feel now from moving the mouse?”
Jim said, “Yes, it is very relaxing.”
Young-Hui was pleased that he did not react at all. Young-Hui said, “I want you to continue moving the mouse for just a few more minutes so we can both be sure it is in the correct position. Keep your eyes on the mouse and look for any signs of strain. Yes Jim, watch the mouse go back and forth, back and forth. You are becoming so relaxed now from moving the mouse so you know I must have made the right adjustments. Take a deep breath and feel just how relaxed you have become. The relaxation isn’t just in your forearms either. You can feel your whole body responding to the rhythmic movements of your hand on the mouse. Your breathing is slowing down, your mind is slowing down and you feel so so so comfortable. Every muscle in your body is growing heavy and tired, so heavy and tired.”
As Young-Hui moved through her induction she could see Jim responding quite well to every command. Jim thought this was the strangest ergonomic adjustment he had ever been through but he figured in 10 minutes she would be gone and he could get back to work. He just felt so sleepy now that he was going to have to get a cup of coffee as soon as she left.
She said, “Continue to focus on your mouse and notice now that your eyes are growing very heavy. I have properly adjusted your computer but your eyes and body are so tired from previously sitting in a bad position. Your eyes and body are so very tired. The mouse will begin to slow down and as it does your eyes will become heavier and heavier. The heavier your eyes become the more the mouse will slow down and the more the mouse slows down the heavier your eyes will become. Each draws you down further and closer to deep sleep.”
Young-Hui sat back and watched as Jim’s hand slowed down and after a few minutes his head slumped over and he was out. To ensure that his subconscious stayed focused on her voice she continued to speak to him just giving him very simple commands such as “so relaxed now” or “so sleepy now” until he was out. Now it was time to deepen his trance.

Jim’s body completely slumped onto the table now as he relinquished complete control to Young-Hui. She said, “Jim, you are deeply hypnotized and will obey me without question. I want you to sit up and open your eyes so no one walking by thinks you are asleep at work. You will remain completely under my control. Do you understand?”

Young-Hui replied, “You will refer to me as master is that clear?”
Jim replied back, “Yes Master.”
Now it was time for Young-Hui to go to work. She said, “Jim, do you know Janice Ramirez in Customer Service?”
Jim replied, “Yes Master.”
Young-Hui continued, “What do you think about her?”

Janice was blown away at how effectively Jim’s thoughts had been rearranged by Young-Hui. She said, “Are you saying you would like to date me with the intention of moving to engagement and marriage?”
