"Angie you can't refuse a Christmas present!" Peter Cross protested.
"Really, Peter I don't think I should accept this." Angela Heart replied. She was glad that her desk was between her and the handsome young man. She had only been working at Ace Bright CD's for two months and the young engineers from down in the R&D department had been hitting on her since the day she joined the companies advertising department.
Peter had been one of the most insistent. Here he was at her desk again during her lunch break trying to get her to accept not one, but two Christmas presents. It embarrassed her. It wasn't appropriate.
Peter had his own plans for the sexy little auburn hared beauty. Step one of that plan was to get her to accept the CD and present he had prepared especially for her.
"Listen Angie, I know you don't get out much. You've turned down every date request you've gotten, as far as I can tell, and that's fine" Peter lied.
"I know you have strong religious convictions about dating. To tell you the truth, I admire them.". More lies, he wished Angie would just loosen up and go out with him. It seemed a crime for a women with a body like hers to be "saving" it for marriage and some perfect man who would sweep her away and put a ring on her finger.
"Mabel in Accounting told me you like Classical Religious music so I made up this two CD set of Handel's Messiah for you. Its a total digital remastering of the original Mormon Tabernacle Choir version from the 60's. Ace Bright is going to start selling it next year but I thought you might enjoy a copy now, what with the Holidays coming up and all.". Peter said and smiled his best, [I'm a good boy smile].
"This present is just a present, nothing extravagant, no hidden meanings" he hurried to explain. "If you'd like, you can think of it as my apology for all those times I asked you out despite your kind refusals. I know I can be a real pest, and I'm a little thick when it comes to hearing NO."
"And if I say NO to this gift?" Angie asked with a resigned sigh.
"Well, I admit I'd be a little hurt, but I can see where you might not want to forgive me" Peter wheedled. Which neatly forced Angie to accept his present or come off looking like a unforgiving meany. Checkmate he thought as he could see her surrendering to his arguments.
"What can I say then, but, thank you Peter." Angie said blushing with embarrassment. She quickly opened her desk drawer and put the CD case inside. She thrust the large gaily wrapped box out of sight under her desk..
"Now I want you to make it clear to the other boys down in Production and R&D that there are not to be any more presents." Angie told Peter earnestly. "It may seem strange to you but I don't feel comfortable dating yet. I just graduated from college and moved to a new city and I'm trying to get settled. I'm actually quite busy with the Youth group at my church. I really don't have time to date right now. I just don't want you to think, I'm unhappy or lonesome. Could you please let the guys know that? I have honestly been worried that I might have to file some kind of Sexual Harassment suit to get this improper behavior to stop." Angela explained.
"Don't you worry about it Angie. I'll let the guys know how you feel about what they've been doing and I'm sure once they know how it's upset you that it will stop immediately." Peter assured her.
And if things go the way I hope they will you won't be worrying about sexual harassment ever again he thought.
