I don't have the kind of detail you'ld like on the hand crushes, but I can describe her techniques and the shoes she wore!

All the hand crushes took place at high school and college sporting events! Our hand crusher, we'll call her Handy Hanna, has been a avid sports fan since before I met her! She graduated high school in 1980, and college in the mid-80's. As you all remember that time period produced some of the thinnest high heels for everyday wearing! Although she wore the 4" heels for fun and dancing, a 4" heel is an eyecatcher at a sporting event, too much an eyecatcher for her. Her solution was many pairs of 1 1/2" heels from Gussini's Shoes and other places! In this way she could concentrate all her weight on 1/4" or less diameter heel that was VERY inconspicuous! She kept 5 or 6 pairs always with the nails exposed through the plastic tips! As a side note she trashed so many floors since the 70's you can't imagine!

Her favorite approach was from the back so the intended target couldn't see her coming! She would drop hard on the back of the hand with her heel! !65 lbs is a lot for a gentle step, but to drop forcefully really adds the crushing forces! She'd shoot for only one hand a game in the stands, and one exposed foot in the concession line... you can't get too cocky! Naturally the nail would draw blood and many times the hand would swell immdiately from a broken blood vessel under the skin!

And, of course, she had to make sure that the hand was more near the back of the bleacher in order to insure she didn't wipe out stepping on the hand.

I would guess between 60 and 100 hand/fingers were crushed over a 9 year period!

So, guys, if you're lady is a floor killer or hand crusher, a shorter, thinner heel is best for your lady!! She can get more weight into the heel, attract less attention, and herself be safer as regards maintaining balance.

PS - got an email this morning, yet another BZGirl stuck out on New Year's eve... her daughter got very sick and they cancelled their party-going!

PS2 - As a note to a post I read weeks ago about trampling and crushing being linked, I have to disagree in this case! Hanna won't trample me even though I tried for over 15 years! And anyone knows a bare nail hand trample hurts much worse than a trampling, but that doesn't bother her... I'm working on a set of descriptions of trampling/crushing types, I'm sure they might stir some good commentary from the readers of the board!
