38-Year-Old Minneapolis Man Run Down By Van
MINNEAPOLIS, Posted at 11:10 a.m. March 31, 1998 - A lovers' quarrel apparently turned
gruesome Saturday night.
John Lindahl, 38, and his fiancee, 36, had a quarrel which resulted in what Minneapolis
police are now classifying as a homicide, according to WCCO-Radio.
WCCO-Radio reports that Lindahl was run over by a van behind a gas station at the 5200
block of Minnehaha Avenue South on Saturday evening.
And the driver was his fiancee, say police.
The radio station report didn't say if the fiancee has been arrested. It would be up to
the Hennepin County Attorney's office to determine the nature of any charges, says
WCCO-Radio.

Woman Guilty In Fiance's Death
She Pleads Guilty To Vehicular Homocide After She Ran Over, Killed, Fiance While Drunk
MINNEAPOLIS, Posted 11:07 a.m. November 19, 1998 -- A woman who hit and killed her fiance
while she was driving drunk pleaded guilty to criminal vehicular operation and will
receive six years in prison.
Regina S. Shaddrick, 36, of Minneapolis, had a blood-alcohol level of 0.22 percent two
hours after the March 28 incident, more than twice the legal limit. Her fiance, John
Lindahl, 38, was walking near her van when he was struck.
The couple had just had an argument and had a history of domestic abuse.
Shaddrick was initially accused of driving at Lindahl, dragging him about 100 feet and
telling police that she figured "he'd jump out of the way."
But after the evidence was reviewed, Hennepin County prosecutor Pete Cahill said they
couldn't prove that Shaddrick intended to harm her fiance.
Lindahl was to the side of the van when it hit him, and he was caught in the wheel well,
authorities said. Shaddrick stopped and sought help for him.
Shaddrick is scheduled for sentencing Jan. 6.
