Little Judo Girl part 13
Cherry Bomb
The summer was beginning to wind down. Courtney had started a
pile of things she was taking back to Alabama with her. The naked
cabana boy cleaning service was still in full swing. Although Courtney
had not taken down a local boy in two weeks she was confident about
the martial arts tournament she was attending the next day. For weeks
now judo girl Courtney had, under the direction of her older cousin been
tricking the neighborhood boys into strip wrestling. Even getting pictures
of the boys nude and extorting them into being virtual slaves. Slaves
the two pre teen girls rented out to do many of the chores the area girls
usually do.
This was one summer neither girl would ever forget. Even in their
old age, when both girls had grand kids of their own; the two would
sometimes when alone joke about the summer of the naked boys as they
came to call it. So many embarrassed and humiliated young males
brought to heel. It all was such fun.
Christopher and Sherri-Lee would also remember this summer fondly.
They had spent so much time together biking, taking walks, going to
the movies. Just content to share each others company. They danced
together at parties during the summer, twisting by the pool. Sherri went
to quite a few of Chris's baseball games. She cheered him on when he
was at bat. She did not know he was such a good ball player. With two
homeruns and a lot of base hits he was third on his team in batting.
Chris was even beginning to like the older music. That was all they
listened to while at Sherri-lee's house. Chris did not like playing it at
his house, he said. "I'm not mature enough to admit to my mom her
music is better." Sherri laughed.
Tonight however it was something different. A small traveling
carnival had come to town and set up in a large vacant parking lot.
The two ten year olds climbed into the back of Chris's mom's car.
They had been looking forward to this for days now, which seemed
like forever to the kids. The rainbow colored lights of the carnival
caught the windshield of the car before they entered the parking area.
The bright lights glinted off the glass and was reflected in the children's
eyes, which were wide in anticipation. They both had been to things
like this before but never together. That new element created an
edginess in the two ten year olds. While they were becoming more and
more comfortable with each other, as kids that sense of stress associated
with dating was even more pronounced then in teens or adults, many of
whom still tense up while trying the dating ritual. Sometimes it takes
courage to try.
Scrambling out of the car the sense of excitement enveloped the two
quickly. Lots of people had come out, streams of carnival goers walked
across the parking area to the main gate. Kid in a candy store, no better
kids at a carnival with a candy store. They went right to the cotton candy
booth and ordered up two blue colored sticks of the sugary treat. While
consuming this they explored the carnival a bit, looking for the ride with
the shortest line. It happened to be Ferris wheel. Neither child was afraid
of heights and the ride could hold three. Chris's mom as official chaperone
rode with them.
The momentary changes of gravity as it was counteracted by centrifugal
force gave the kids a case of the giggles, like they were being tickled. The
lite feeling in their tummies was a rare sensation. They both liked it. From
the peak they could see the whole carnival laid out. Chris was spying out
the next ride. Sherri liked the wind rushing through her blond hair. The
adult was gazing off into the parking lot to be sure the car was safe. After
but a few minutes the ride slowed down and began to empty each carriage
in turn. Chris shrugged his shoulders as they got off. He had hoped for a
longer ride.
Next was the arcade. They pumped a few dollars into the token machine
and out dropped a bunch of plastic coins. Pinball was a favored game of
the two kids but not the only one they played. Chris tried the ring toss hoping
to win a stuffed animal for Sherri, but he came up empty. It was harder then
it looked, "Money for nothing." He commented. Chris's mom even played a
few of the video games to stave off boredom. She had been there, done that,
didn't want to do it tomorrow. But keeping an eye on her son's puppy love
was certainly interesting. Chris was so polite with Sherri around, please
and thank-you were now staples of his vocabulary.
Thirty minutes later the tokens were gone and they headed right for the
spider ride. The kids were at last big enough to go on any of the rides,
an added incentive for them. So many of the rides were new to the kids.
More spinning plus up and down motion pushed the riders to higher levels
of gravity, then take it away a second later. Natures forces worked on the
people tugging them in many directs simultaneously. Smiles were in
abundance even before they climbed onto the rides. The anticipation while
waiting in line heightened that sense of fun and enjoyment.
Twice the trio had to go back to the ticket booth and get more tickets.
The real exciting rides always cost more. Yeah right. Within a couple
of hours they had tried virtually every ride in the park. They still had few
last tickets to use. Chris's mom suggested the tunnel of love. Chris turned
red in embarrassment. "Mom really." He said. Then Sherri pulled on his
hand and motioned to the big red heart over the entrance to the ride. Out
numbered he acquiesced and got in line. His mom smiled and sat down
on one of the many benches set about the carnival. She figured they could
handle this alone.
That's when a sport was a sport
And grooving was grooving
And dancing was everything
We were young and improving
Laughin', laughin' with our friends
Holding hands meant something; baby.
Our hearts were really thumpin'
Say yeah, yeah, yeah.
The line was not a long one. The attendant laughed when the two love
birds stepped into the swan like car. They looked so cute holding hands.
He winked and said, "This ride was made for you two." The chain that
pulled the cars along engaged and it lurched forward. Into the darkness
they went. Once passed the dark curtains over head lights flipped on and
showed Marc Anthony and Cleopatra hugging in front of the pyramids.
After a few seconds the lights went out, everything would fade to black as
they entered the next diorama. This one had Romeo and Juliet kissing in a
medieval setting. Boring Chris thought. George and Martha Washington
were next. Sherri shrugged her shoulders. This was not what she had expected.
Romantic figures in history was not a terribly interesting subject to such little
kids. The two were lulled into a false sense of security, just as the designers
had intended.
The final scene startled and scared the youngsters. The lights came on
but it was a strobe light. Out of the darkness two hideous monsters swooped
in on the kiddies. One from the right and other from the left. Frightened
Chris and Sherri hugged each other as tight as they had ever done. Then it
happened, that first magical kiss. Shaking in fear the two touched checks
for a second, and the kiss followed as natural as can be. Eyes closed they
looked for comfort from the other in their moment of terror. Skyrockets in
flight. It was both electric and explosive at the same time. Forgotten was
the stuffed monsters, the carnival and everything save each other. The kiss
was too good to give up quickly.
The exit to the tunnel of love was made to open quietly. Neither Chris
nor Sherri-lee noticed the door slide open and they kept on kissing. The
swan car came to a sudden halt, it jarred the two back into reality. They
pulled back from each other and saw everyone looking at them with grins.
Kiddie crushes can be so cute the operator thought. He unhooked the latch
just as Chris's mom had her camera out and took a picture of the two. Two
faces turned fire engine red in two heartbeats. Chris looked down in his
embarrassment.
"Tunnel of love works every time." Shouted the man to the crowd trying
to draw in more carnival goers. He smiled at the pair as they stepped out
of the swan car.
Sherri leaned to Chris and whispered. "Was that confusing?" She asked
thinking back to the kiss she gave him weeks ago.
He shook his head, "No it was fun." He answered quietly. Then he
found his humor. "Want to go again?" Everyone in earshot chuckled.
Unfortunately they were out of tickets. The boy's mind was a whirl with
thoughts of affection for Sherri. It was all his mom could do to suppress
the smile that ran from ear to ear. The kids clutched arms and headed to
the parking lot. The happiness and childhood joy would not soon be
forgotten by any of them.
Earlier that same day Courtney and Annie were also walking across a
parking lot some forty miles away. Courtney had her gi pulled tightly
around her. The girl's yellow belt showed prominent about her trim waist.
Annie was a bit excited; she had never been to a martial arts tournament.
Annie liked seeing Courtney kick ass, but this would be different. Everyone
here knew martial arts, they were not the untrained clods like the area boys.
Courtney knew her skill would be tested.
At the entrance Court paid her 12 dollar fee. She leaned into Annie and
said, "Maybe I should thank Todd for the entry fee." The two girls snickered.
Once inside the high school gym the large crowd was evident. The hardwood
floor was covered in wrestling mats. Courtney had see this all before, but
her cousin was bug eyed taking everything in.
It did not take long before the pairings were announced and kids, teens
and adults took to the mats. Eight separate areas were laid out for sparring.
Courtney did very well in her first two matches. She submitted a boy then
a girl and both in less then two minutes each.
Annie was watching carefully and had a boat load of questions. Mostly
was why people with lesser belts were winning so much. Watching one
girl with an orange belt dominate an older girl with a brown belt. "The brown
belt goes to a McDojo as my uncle calls them." Annie gave a questioned look.
"Some schools give out belts like they are water. They do it to keep people
coming back and paying more. My uncle only promotes someone after they
learn ninety to one hundred moves. Some places give out a new belt after
thirty or forty moves. Students advance quicker but don't know as much.
The belts don't mean squat at a tourney just within the school. That girl
would never have a brown belt in my uncles dojo." Courtney explained,
Annie nodded.
Courtney's third match went the distance for five minutes and Court won
on points. She was breathing very heavy once the bout was over. "That kid
was pretty good. He almost had me with that arm bar." She told Annie.
Annie nodded some more but the subtleties of the sport were beyond her. It
was like watching a chess match without knowing how to play chess. And
like chess the first person to make a major mistakes was usually the looser.
As the tourney progressed people were getting eliminated. The crowds
began to thin out. Soon the final bracket for the kids division rolled around.
Courtney being an unknown was paired off with a boy who had won more
then a few tournaments. He was a year older then her and a green belt from
one of the more respected dojos. The referee called the two children onto
the mat. Give the same quick instructions the sport required. Courtney
shook the boy's hand and then both gave a quick bow like brothers in arms .
Court hunched down and was hoping to shoot in to take his legs out but
the boy was light on his feet and danced away keeping his right arm ready
for a guillotine choke. She changed her strategy and went after his arms.
Court liked grappling with boys, they tended to hold back against girls. Not
this one however he had gotten passed the 'I don’t want to hurt a girl' stage.
The boy's older sister had cured him of that trap in practice. They each tried
to grab the others arms and gain an advantage. After a minute things were
still a stalemate. Neither wanted to commit themselves and be open to a
counter attack.
The arm grabbing tussle continued then he got in low enough to take
Courtney's left leg and upend the girl. They both went down with her on
her back in the guard position. The boy was between her legs trying to get
by them for side control. Courtney would not let him, she kept her ankles
crossed. He put his elbows into the fleshy area just above her knees and
worked a pressure point on her legs to make her give up the scissor hold.
Courtney tried to take his collar and go for a cross arm choke. She got her
right hand up high on his collar and a perfect grip. She when after the other
side of his collar with her left hand.
The boy knew the drill and let her extend her left arm then in a lighting
flash move had her left arm and flew to her left he got passed her leg like
it was not there. Courtney blinked and his leg was across her face and her
arm trapped between his legs. She cursed as he laid on an arm bar. Forced
to let go of his collar she found herself on defense. That was the last place
Court wanted to be. The boy was not a fool and slowly worked her arm
till her elbow was against his hips. Then it was all over. Courtney felt her
arm getting bent the wrong way and she had to tap out. It was her first lose
in the north. The boy let go and slid away. Her pride had been wounded.
She shook his head and walked off the mats almost in disbelief.
Annie and her parents were is surprised. Did Courtney just lose? Annie
frowned at her cousin and offered her sympathy. Her uncle patted Court on
the back. Courtney could only say, "Damn he was so fast. Done for the
day as they say. Least I made it to the semi-finals." As Courtney was wiping
her fore head with a damp towel the boy who had just beat her came over.
"I'm Russell you did really well today." He smiled.
"Yeah I've only been doing judo for a year or so. You're quick."
He smiled again. "For a year you're real good."
"Thanks and Good luck in the finals. What was that technique you used
to get passed my guard? Never seen one that before."
He nodded, "The butterfly pass. Just learned it last month. You from
around here?"
She shook her head, "Alabama, visiting my cousin for the summer." He
frowned at the news. Court shrugged her shoulders. A lot went unsaid for
a moment of awkward silence. Then he stepped away disappointed. Quickly
Annie gave him Court’s email addy. He went away smiling now.
"What you do that for?" Courtney asked once the boy was off a ways.
"You said you'd never go out with a boy if you could kick their butt. I
figure that leaves slim pickens. Besides he was interested in you and he's
not bad looking." Courtney laughed and nodded. The car ride home was
uneventful until the stop for pizza.
Another day had passed. Another day closer to the airport ride that would
put an official close to the summer. Annie and Courtney grew closer that
summer and it laid the ground work for other summer visits. Of course in
future years everyone knew of Courtney's judo so tricking the boys into a
wrestling match would not be easy or even possible. Everyone was wiser
for the ware. For the most part a higher level of maturity had settled in the
neighborhood. Todd stopped being the bully, realizing there is always
someone tougher then you. It might even be a girl.
Annie began to appreciate the paper work involved in running a business.
First day of school back and she would have to destroy all the schedules and
billing records. She wondered if she owed taxes? If the secretary of the
treasury could get away with not paying taxes so could she. The hardest
moment for Annie was what to do with all the pictures she had of the boys
being naked and getting trounced by Courtney. She had promised to delete
them all at the end of the summer. Playing king Solemn she split the
difference. Ninety five percent of the images was after on final viewing
dumped in the recycle bin and promptly deleted from there. A handful
of pics Annie saved in a hidden file. You never know she rationalized.
As the summer of the judo girl finally came to a close, it was a bright
summer's day. The postman was delivering on the street. His small jeep
delivery vehicle stopped in front of every house. The mail boxes lined the
road. He got to the first house and put in the mail. At the second house he
saw a boy, maybe 12 pushing a lawn mower, it's gas engine roaring. The
postal worker pulled up to the next house and deposited the days mail.
Then did it again, this time he hear another mower across the street. Saw
another young boy guiding the mower. Two girls were on the stoop watching.
Continuing with his route the mailman filled each mail box in turn.
Every couple of yards he would see another boy cutting the grass. It
did not dawn on him till he reached the end of the street. Then he got
out of his vehicle and looked back. The boys were all in sync. Like
they all had started at the same time and spot. Then he saw girls sitting
on the stoops and watching, no supervising. "This is too weird." He
muttered while shaking his head and getting back in the car. Then he
whisked the mail off to deliver it like on every street.
Epilog
Annie - Well as Courtney predicted Annie did get rich, in banking. Rose to
the seat of VP, married well and had four children. Altho she had money Annie
never did need a body guard.
Courtney - Courtney made so much money that summer she upgraded her
airline ticket home to first class. She passed her orange belt test and earned a
black belt in high school. Made the 2024 judo team and medaled for her
country. She taught for years at her uncle's dojo and eventually took over
the school.
Christopher and Sherri-lee - That is the easy one, they lived happily ever
after. One rough patch in high school when the school bimbo pointed herself
at Chris trying to break them up on a bet. It worked and Chris's 16 summer
was the saddest of his life. Then Sherri heard of the bet and knew Chris's
conscience was tormenting him unmercifully for what he had done. Annie
even stuck up for Chris. Sherri gave Chris a second chance. He never strayed
nor looked again. Disney enough for you?
