Newt's Legacy - Leto
[It is suggested that you read the series in the order listed below]
James Leto visited Glory at her home - a high-end condo located in a converted warehouse in Los Angeles, California - that was also her place of business. The high ceilings, thick brick and concrete walls and exposed beams worked well for Glory's occupation as a BDSM “hostess”. Glory specialized in female and sometimes transgendered clients. Rich clients who sought the expert sexual pain that Glory could deliver.
Leto introduced himself as the current President and majority share-holder of the company that was the author of the LV-426 colony debacle. Glory was less than welcoming, still holding bitter feelings toward the company, and by extension - Leto himself.
“I am here to seek a dialogue with you Glory.” Leto had gotten to the point, “We no longer discard people. It is my desire and - I feel - my obligation to try to make right what happened to you and the other survivors of LV-426.”
“You mean the ones who didn't kill themselves?” Glory asked, pouring herself a brandy and pointedly not offering one to Leto.
“I understand your bitterness.”
“You have no idea of the depths of my bitterness.”
Leto paused, drew a deep breath, then; “I believe I do, glory. I read the medic's report from the company rescue ship prior to you being put into stasis. You were distraught ...”
“Of course I was distraught, your fucking company sent me and my parents and all the other colonists to LV-426 knowing those Aliens were there. You knew what would happen and you sent us anyway. Yes, yes, I know you weren't running the company then ... But it doesn't change what happened.” Glory's anger was raw and made her feel sick to her stomach.
“I was talking about your feelings of grief and loss for Newt.” Leto said softly.
Glory's breath left her just as though he'd kicked her in the stomach.
“You bastard.” Glory's voice was tight with emotion. She knocked back the brandy in one gulp. Leto sat forward in his chair, facing Glory who was seated across from him on her sofa.
“The medic on that team was not a cold-hearted man. There was a notation in a report full of technical psychological terms that touched me deeply, Glory. It said - 'Glory's heart is breaking due to the loss of her friend.' He was talking about Newt.”
Tears welled in Glory's eyes and her voice broke as soon as she started to talk.
“We left her.” Glory sobbed, always surprised at how raw and how near the surface that pain was. It had been over fifteen years yet Glory felt it as though it happened yesterday, “She was still a little girl and we left her on that planet with those monsters. I should have stayed. We all should have stayed. But we left her there.” Glory lowered her head and sobbed as hard as she did as the rescue ship lifted off from LV-426 a decade and a half ago. She felt Leto take her hands in his and through tear-blurred eyes, saw that he was kneeling before her.
“I know this is a wound that is still raw, Glory. But believe me when I say that I need you to heal. All of the survivors need to heal, and I will use every resource at my disposal to make that happen.”
“Why? So your conscience can be satisfied? So you can sleep at night?”
“No. There are bigger reasons than that.” Leto rose and sat on the sofa beside her, still holding one of her hands, “When you returned to Earth the company gave you a free-ride scholarship at the university of your choice. You were three years into your Nursing program when you dropped out. What happened, Glory?”
“My psychiatrist said I should help others and that would make me feel better about myself.” Glory answered, wiping at her tears with her free hand, “But I didn't have the heart to finish it. I didn't feel like I could help anyone.”
“But you help people here, doing this.” Leto indicated the BDSM gear and harnesses in the room. Glory laughed despite herself.
“Glory? Look at me.”
Glory looked up into Leto's eyes.
“I need you to go back to school and earn your degree -the free ride still stands. It will take you one year. Then I want you to come and work for me.”
“Why should I?” Glory whispered.
“I'm going to ask you to trust me, Glory. You will find your healing at the end of the year.”
Glory shook her head slowly, “I doubt it.”
“I'll make you an offer. If you go back to school and finish your Nursing degree and decide not to work for me, I will deposit two million dollars in your bank account.”
Glory thought about it.

Nance attended her weekly meeting with Leto in person at the Annex three months after his meeting with Glory. He was disappointed that Glory had not taken him up on his offer, but had sent word to her that the offer would stand for a full year.
Nance could barely contain her excitement when Leto walked into the conference room.
As soon as he sat down, Nance set a small vial filled with a milky white fluid on the table in front of him.
“It's been tested?” Leto asked.
Nancy nodded, “By me personally first, then by three others. It works. Man-oh-man does it work.”
“I'd like to see that.” Leto said with a smile. He and Nance had been on a few dates and had grown quite fond of each other.
“You will.” Nance smiled.
Leto then grew serious, removing a charcoal coloured folder from his briefcase.
“Nance, I have a difficult task before me. One that I hope will not ruin our professional or personal relationship.”
Nance felt nervous, hearing the tone in his voice.
“Fortunately,” Leto said, sliding the folder across the desk toward her, “This is a good news bad news sort of thing. The bad news is that the company and I have been lying to the world and you for fifteen years. But I think you may like the good news.”
Nancy opened the folder and began to read.

It had been four months since Leto had made Glory the offer to return to school. Glory couldn't do it for reasons she wasn't prepared to discuss with him.
This particular evening, Glory's booking agent had told her that she'd booked an 'urgent' appointment with a new client for her. Glory normally only handled one client per evening, feeling an obligation to allow her clients to satisfy their deep seated needs without being rushed. But she'd made an exception as her agent told her the new client was paying double to make up for the inconvenience.
Luckily, her first client was one that was easy to manage. The woman was in her mid fifties, was a Criminal Judge in Los Angeles County, and had a love of having Glory push her past her physical limits and that would always lead to a series of explosive orgasms.
Glory had washed the lubrication off her hands and forearms as the Judge cleaned her self up in the washroom Glory kept for the exclusive use of her clients. The Judge re-entered the playroom as Glory finished trading out the used toys for fresh sanitized ones.
“Thank you, Glory.” the Judge said kissing her on the cheek, “You were wonderful as always.”
“It was a pleasure to pleasure you, sweetheart.” Glory smiled ad gave the Judge a tight hug. Looking over the Judge's shoulder, Glory saw on her security monitor that her 'urgent' had arrived and was sitting in her waiting room, “You'll want to take the side door, I have another visitor.”
“Thank you, Glory. Next Thursday?”
“Sure, just confirm with Jann.”
The Judge departed.
Glory checked herself in the wall mirror, adjusting her latex outfit and the bows on her thighs boots then walked to the door that let in clients from the waiting room.
“You're a little early, hon.” Glory said as she opened the door, then saw who it was, “Nance?”
Nance stood up and walked into the room, “Hi Glory. It's been too long.”
“Geez, Nance,” Glory said, closing the door and taking Nance's coat, “You should know you don't have to book an appointment. I thought you'd know that after last time.”
Nance blushed but smiled, reaching out and hugging Glory. “I missed you.”
Glory poured them drinks and they chatted. Then;
“Leto was disappointed you didn't take him up n his offer.” Nance said.
“He needs to lower his expectations. Especially about us survivors.” Glory said, feeling relaxed with Nance - more relaxed than she ever was with 'outsiders'.
“Things are changing with the survivors. We're getting on with our lives, and our relationships.”
“Right” Glory answered with sarcasm.
“Leto and I are engaged. We're very happy. I'm very happy.” Nance then went through the rest of the remaining survivors and reported that each was finally moving forward with their lives - reconnecting with family, entering into healthy relationships, surging forward in their careers.
“Great.” Glory said, looking into the depths of her drink, “So I'm the only loser left, huh?”
Nance moved closer to Glory, “You're not a loser, Glory. We've been doing research. Solid research on the complex chemical make-up of the Aliens and we've made a major breakthrough.”
“Wait. What?” Glory set her drink down, “How are you doing research on ... Oh fuck, you haven't gone back have you?”
“No. Well, one scout ship went back. We brought an egg back to Earth.”
Anger flared in Glory's eyes, “You're all insane!”
“Don't worry, it's dead now. We nuked it in the lab we hatched it in. But we discovered why we were all so fucked up.” Nance paused, “We are addicts.”
Glory swallowed the rest of her drink and leaned back on the sofa with her arms crossed to listen.
“That clear goop that the huggers and the nurse Aliens pumped into us was loaded with a long chain molecule that is sort of a super-endorphin with a lot of other attachment assets. It's short lived in our systems and hugely addictive plus it triggers our brain cells to grow excessive receptors that are designed to only accept that super-endorphin. Those receptors never go away and nothing else will satisfy them.
“That's why you're here instead of being in school, Glory.” Nance continued, “You, like all of us were seeking relief from a craving we couldn't satisfy.”
“So, we're all screwed.”
“No.” Nance reached into her purse and withdrew two syringes and a small vial of milky fluid which she sat on the coffee table, “We've synthesized it.”
Glory stared at the vial, “You're telling me that's a liquid orgasm?”
Nance nodded and smiled, “A hugger orgasm. Without the hugger.”
“It works?” Glory felt a tug deep in her sex.
“I use it every day.” Nance said, picking up a syringe and the vial, “care to join me?”
Both women retired to the large play bed in the room. Nance had stripped to her underwear and Glory had changed into a sweatshirt with the arms cut off and silk shorts. Nance filled both syringes and found a vein in Glory's arm and her own.
“Together?” Glory asked and Nance nodded. Both women pressed the plungers and injected themselves. Nance quickly removed the needles and set them on a table by the bed. Then she slid lower and reached out, wrapping her arms around Glory. Glory rolled toward Nance and held her lightly.
“You know, if this doesn't work we could always ... o-o-o-oh ...” Glory felt the tingling start deep in her belly and in a rush the first orgasm rushed through her. She felt Nance react also, pressing her pelvis against Glory's hip and whimpering.
“... oh fuck ... oh fuck ,,,” Glory gasped as she clung to Nance and started to quiver and shake.
“Glory?” Nance managed.
“... y-y-yeah? ...” Glory whispered, sliding her hand down Nance's back to her bottom.
“You have ... to go back to ... school. We need you.” Nance gasped then gave in, her hands exploring her long time friend and Sisterhood member's body.

Glory had been on a private jet within three hours of her graduation from University. Her crisp new Nursing degree was in the briefcase at her feet. As the jet approached the private company landing strip on the Baja peninsula, Glory could see the dark depression south of the company's main facility that Nance had told her to watch out for. It was proof that the annex with the Alien and her eggs had been destroyed.
It had been just over a year and Glory was about to find out why Leto wanted her to become part of the company team. Glory felt an almost a total inner peace since she started taking daily injections of the milky fluid the company supplied her. Beside the obvious orgasmic effects, Glory found that her mind was clearer and she could concentrate for a change. She'd stopped drinking and her life was moving forward. She still thought of Newt almost every day, but those thoughts, though sorrowful, no longer left her sobbing.
Nance's life also. Her and Leto were married three months ago and Glory had attended the wedding.
Once the jet landed, her personal escort - a young woman named Liz - guided her off the plane and across the tarmac under the blazing hot sun to a set of double doors that led to an elevator and an air conditioned underground complex.
Nance and Leto were there awaiting her. After the greetings and congratulations on her graduation were over, Leto led Nance and Glory down a corridor, past a number of guard stations and double sealed doors. On the way he spoke;
“As I told Nance over a year ago, I have been guilty of the old company vice of keeping secrets. As you know, when your rescue team and you lifted off from LV-46, you took no Alien specimens with you. They were expressly forbidden by the World Court to do so because of the investigations going on back here on Earth.
“What you don't know is that you were in stasis for over sixty days before the ship left orbit. Once they had placed all of you survivors in your stasis chambers, they asked for and received permission to break the directive in a coded transmission from the company's headquarters. It was a special circumstance.”
Glory felt the blood rising in her cheeks, felt her past hatred of the company start to resurface.
“The team collected three specimens from the surface along with a host and brought them into the medical bay of the ship - placing them in stasis. And they have remained in stasis ever since.”
“You bastards.” Glory said softly as they came to a vault door which Leto caused to open with a retina scan.
“Perhaps.” Leto answered dryly as he ushered Glory and Nance through the door, “But I do believe that particular decision was a prudent one, considering. We built this entire complex for one reason and one reason only - to create the Lazarus Protocol.”
Glory entered through the doorway and saw a single stasis chamber in the centre of the room. The glass dome was firmly locked down and all the monitoring equipment was lit up and functioning at 100 percent - it indicated that the subjects within were in deep stasis.
As she neared, Glory looked into the chamber and her eyes were drawn first to the three huggers. Then she noticed the pale limp body, still filthy with the grime of LV-426, the knees still covered in scabs from crawling across a rusted metal floor, the lattice work of silver stretch marks on the soft belly, and the matted tangled hair. A loud sob escaped her throat.
“Newt?” and her legs almost gave out on her. Nance supported her as Glory made her way to the stasis chamber and laid her hands on it's cool perfect glass, pressing her face against it closing her eyes. “Oh my sweet girl.” she sobbed quietly as Nance stroked her back. Newt lay within, the three huggers firmly gripping her face, groin and buttocks.
“I ordered the Queen's egg brought back to Earth and Nance birthed the new Queen so that we could conduct the needed research to successfully remove those huggers and extract and destroy the embryos. Even Nance didn't know that until the research was almost completed.” Leto explained.
Glory turned to look a Leto, “You can save her?”
“Yes. We can save her. We know how to neutralize the acids inside the huggers and how to remove the embryos.” Leto said, his face grave, “But Newt has been in stasis a long time. She will need a prolonged recovery time. Plus we believe her addiction is stronger than anyone else's.”
Leto approached Glory and laid a hand on her shoulder, squeezing it.
“I'm sorry we had to deceive you,” Leto spoke, “but we needed you as part of our team. Newt will awaken confused and disoriented and craving contact with the addiction that will torment her like it has tormented no one else. It will be a lot of work to aid her in recovery. She will need a devoted nurse.”
Glory's eyes overflowed with tears as she grasped Leto's lapels and buried her face against his chest, her body convulsing with sobs. Leto wrapped his arms around Glory and held her, and Nance saw that even he had tears in his eyes.
The fourteen hour operation was a success. Newt had been wheeled straight into the operating theatre from the stasis chamber and the surgical team only had time to sanitize the narrow strip down the front of her belly the now bore the sutured incision running from her mound to her sternum. She was still heavily sedated.
Glory, in her new Nurse's uniform and latex gloves, pulled back the sheet covering Newt and lovingly washed the girl's filthy body, careful of the intravenous lines, monitoring pads, and - of course - her incision. Despite the objections of the support Nursing staff, Glory insisted on shampooing Newt's matted hair and worked it carefully with conditioners and brushes until she could draw a comb through it.
Gloria personally injected Newt each evening with the synthesized Alien super-endorphins and could see the girl's body reacting to it.
After a few weeks, Newt began to awaken. At first her eyes would flicker open for only seconds, then as the days wore on, Glory would look up and see that Newt was laying still, staring at her with no expression. Glory would always smile and gently speak her name and touch her hand.
One day, Newt spoke - her voice harsh and weak from years of disuse. Glory had to bend over her and put her ear to Newt's mouth to hear.
“Who are you?” Newt croaked. Leto's team of psychiatrists had suggested not taxing Newt with complex human relationships until she was ready.
“I'm your Nurse.” Glory replied, doing a good job of not crying. Glory and the rest of them had aged sixteen years, and Newt had remained stuck at the age she was when they left LV-426.
On another occasion, Newt was watching Glory as she changed her bedding and cleaned Newt after the girl had wet the bed.
“You remind me of someone I knew.” Newt said. And when Glory looked up, a shy smile flickered across Newt's lips.
Leto was right about the strength of Newt's addiction. As Newt began to regain her strength she became combative and lashed out at the other Nurses. To Glory though she would only complain.
Glory took to helping Newt out of bed in the evenings and sitting in a rocking chair with Newt on her lap to give her the daily injection. She would wrap Newt in a soft blanket with only her face and arm sticking out and gently find a vein. The psychiatrists and the other Nurses complained to Leto that Glory was crossing a professional boundary to have such intimate contact with the girl. Leto's reply was: “I should hope so.” and ordered them not to interfere. Leto was banking on Glory's love to pull Newt through, not on her degree. The Nursing degree made Glory a capable mechanic, her love for Newt would be the only thing that could heal them both.
On an evening while Newt snuggled in Glory's lap while Glory found her vein, Newt said;
“I want to go back.” and looked up into Glory's eyes.
Glory depressed the plunger, injecting the mixture into Newt's bloodstream then withdrawing and setting it aside,
“I know, sweetheart.” she whispered, and held Newt's face to her chest as the girl whimpered and started to tremble. And like every other evening, Glory cradled Newt in her arms as she squirmed and shuddered, sometimes crying out as her addiction was fed. As always, the girl was soon flushed and hot, her pajamas soaked through with sweat and the scent of her sex strong in the room. Afterward - like every night - Glory gave Newt a sponge bath and tucked her in. This night, Glory smiled and kissed Newt on the cheek and when she pulled back, Newt gazed up at her, studying her face.
“You're Glory.” Newt said softly after a few minutes in a voice tinged with wonder as her eye lids drooped and she fell asleep. Glory suppressed a sob and climbed into bed with her and held her all night.
As the weeks wore on, Glory slowly told Newt the whole story and included her in her own recovery plan. Newt confided to Glory that though the injections were good, they weren't enough. That night after the injection as Newt was squirming restlessly in her arms, Glory - drawing on her years as a BDSM 'hostess' - taught Newt how to masturbate in a way that would give her the sensations she craved. With the blanket covering Newt from the prying eyes of the other Nurses, Glory helped Newt turn her wrist and curl her fingers. When Glory helped the struggling girl by pushing her wrist inward, Newt shuddered.
“... there it is ...” Newt gasped and relaxed her body.
As time wore on and Newt's recovery progressed, the girl's need for injections tapered off to three times a week and she no longer needed Glory's technique to drive away her overwhelming cravings. Glory too found that as time went on she needed the super-endorphin less. All of the survivors knew that the addiction would never completely go away, but it became manageable and effected their life less and less.
One day as they walked through the conservatory, hand in hand, Newt looked up at Glory and asked;
“Do you remember my real name?”
“Yes,” Glory smiled down at her, “It's Rebecca.”
Newt smiled.
Soon, Newt's requests to return to LV-426 faded away, but the question that replaced it was heartbreaking for Glory ...
“Where will I go when I'm all better?” Newt asked her. Glory didn't have an answer.

A year after Newt was at last released from the Baja facility, Nance and Leto sat in a company town car on a tree-lined street in a Port Townsend, Washington suburb. The car's windows were deeply tinted and it was average looking enough to blend in with the family oriented neighbourhood. The bus that delivered the High School students to and from the centralized school had just pulled to the curb down the street on the other side.
Standing at the end of a driveway halfway between the school bus and the town car was Glory, looking surprisingly modest in her jeans and high necked sweater. Leto and Nance could see that Glory was watching the students climbing down out of the school bus.
The disembarking teenagers herded and jostled each other in play as they first grouped then split up to head to their own particular homes. From out of that tangle came a teen girl with honey coloured hair that caught the sun, wearing blue sneakers, red jeans and a bright saffron coloured hoody. Newt, carrying her school bag in her arms.
Newt walked along talking with another girl, both of them animated and laughing. Then as the other girl jogged across the street to her own home and they waved goodbye to each other, Newt turned and saw Glory. She ran to Glory and hugged her tight before they walked with arms around each other up the driveway to their front door. Nance and Leto could see that Newt was talking excitedly to Glory about something as the two entered the house. Both were smiling.
Nance wiped the tears from her eyes and turned to her husband.
“You did good, Leto.”
