One interesting thing I've noticed. When people online find out about my relationship with my mother, there are various reactions. Some are sympathetic and congratulate me on my luck and discretion. Others think I'm a victim, but are quite rational and well-meaning in their concerns, and honestly I trust them more than most people who hold other stances on this issue. But most of them both consider me a victim, and then proceed to attack me for being a pedophile. How the hell does that work? They say I was molested, and that makes me a child molester? Let's run through that again. They're saying that I was molested and am therefore a child molester, and hate me for it. Can you say "bass-ackwards?"
When all is said and done, it's plain hypocrisy. They call me a victim, but rather than misguided sympathy (which makes them decent people even if it's misguided), they attack me. It's really another example of the hypocrisy behind pedophobia. They're actually more interested in protecting their false image of kids as asexual than in protecting the actual kids (some of whom want intimacy). The latter is real. The former is not.
And of course, the hypocrisy from the fellow lesbians, gays, and bisexuals who hate me is twofold. Of course there's the "you're a victim and I hate you for it" bullshit above. But there's also the fact that most gays and lesbians have faced the same shit they're giving me, and that underage experimentation is even more a part of their experiences than of most heterosexuals' experiences. Probably every one of them fooled around with other kids when they were kids, and a few with older adolescents or adults. Most don't even lie about it. So not only are they full of it, but they're full of it by their own standards (kind of the definition of hypocrisy, but I like spelling it out to show just how stupid it is). Not only do they chastise me for an underage relationship of the sort which is part and parcel of both LGBT and hetero culture, but like any homophobe they expect me to live by their standards in a matter where my standards are the only ones that matter.
One airhead said that I'm no longer a victim because I'm legal now, but that my relationship is still sick. Well, where underage people are concerned, everyone should sound off on their concerns about consent and such. But here she is admitting that I'm an adult. Leaving no possible ethical difference between my relationship and hers (she's lesbian). In both cases, the participants are consenting adults whose standards are the only ones that apply to their relationships. But she conveniently forgets that because she's less concerned about her own ethics than about hating me. I guess I should stick to being amused by the stupidity rather than ticked by it.
Wednesday, 4th February, 2004.An amazing thing happened in a lesbian chat I've been frequenting. If you've got a heart condition you might want to take your meds now, 'cause it's a shocker. I was in there, just watching the chat. Most of the roomies have delivered the typical knee-jerk reaction and decided to hate me to the point that they actually lie about what I write here. Anyway. I was just lurking while I worked on the site code, and one of the regulars IMed me. At first I expected the usual "you sicko" bit, but eventually I invited her to ask the question she said she wanted to ask.
Did she condescend to me or call me a victim? No. Did she accuse me of being a child molester? No. She never even implied anything remotely demeaning or disrespectful. Instead, she suggested that I try becoming popular with a given chat before I espouse my views on childlove. An excellent idea which I've decided to implement. She then had some friendly conversation with me in the chat, and actually stuck up for me even after some of her friends began to turn on her for it. She stood her ground, and I don't even know what her stance on childlove is. And you know what the most unexpected part is?
This mysterious woman who so selflessly treated me like a human being even when her bigoted friends told her not to...is a Christian. Personally, I'm an Atheist, but I recognize common human decency when I see it, and there it is. Christianity (at least as believed by many) really is becoming all the good things it can be, and it's about time. If this woman doesn't share my stance on childlove, that makes her actions all the more commendable. It's hard to stick up for someone you disagree with, and as issues go this is probably the most heated and dangerous there is.
Silly argument of the day:"Kids can't understand sex! Kids believe in freaking Santa Claus!"
And whose fault is it that kids believe in Santa Claus?
Friday, 13th February, 2004.This week there's been an illegal DDOS (distributed denial of service) attack on multiple childlove websites. The attack was coordinated in hidden forums on a site called SomethingAwful. I sent out a warning in English, French, and German to as many webmasters as I could find, and got into a debate with one of the conspirators (I'll be putting that up later).
