The following is meant to serve as a general timeline guide to "The Bodyworker" series, following the main protagonist, Eric Woods, through his career as professional sex surrogate and therapeutic "bodyworker". If you have any questions or comments, please send them to me through the form-mail link at the end of this guide, or send them to me at "planet_dweller AT yahoo DOT com", substituting punctuation symbols for the words "at" and "dot". In a serialized novel like "The Bodyworker", which I have been writing literally since 1998, it's almost impossible to keep track of the myriad of characters and situations that come and go interweavingly through the progression of the structure, which is why I've spent the time to document the timeline and will also create lists of major players, minor players, and locales. Thanks again for reading and enjoying "Bodyworker" and my other works!, Yours, PlanetDweller Notes: "Raleigh" means the location is in Raleigh, North Carolina, Raleigh being the capitol city of the state of North Carolina; "Cary" means the nearby community of Cary, N.C.; "Durham" means the city which is the third leg of the Research Triangle Park triangle, thirty miles to the west of Raleigh; "Rockport" is a fictionalized coastal city in Maine; "MT" means "massage therapy"; "TM" means "therapy models", or people who work under the direction of a bodyworking therapist as live sex models with the therapist's patients, as prescribed for by the psychiatrist in charge of all. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ {Chapter 1} ? Eric & Margot show them "the ways of love" and Eric "marries" them in a real tear-jerker of a scene. {Chapter 15} ? Eric & Margot return home to Raleigh after successfully completing their bodyworking training. ? In the little over a week's time that Eric & Margot were at the PBI School in Roslyn Harbour, Dr.'s Stein & Forberg "sold" them to Dr. Nicholas Samiatakis, a fellow psychiatrist with a huge patient following in the Raleigh and central North Carolina region. ? Eric & Margot accept Dr. Nick's offer of employment within his practice aegis and move into their new home and office in nearby Cary, N.C. {Chapter 17} ? Connie, the last legacy therapist left of Dr.'s Stein & Forberg's old practice who is getting ready to get married soon and leave bodyworking as a profession behind agrees to stay a few weeks more, long enough to mentor Eric & Margot through those first few difficult cases, hugging and scolding them as they begin to get their sea legs. {Chapter 19} ? Connie gets married, Eric & Margot attend her wedding. ? Eric & Margot have a paid "working vacation" with the Siegfield family. {Chapter 21} ? Lepac is "auditioned" by Eric and the existing staff of female bodyworkers to see if she might be a good replacement candidate for Alexa. {Chapter 22} ? February, 1999; Alexa departs for Denver, Marilyn arrives back from her training at the PBI School. ? Eric & Marilyn have a "working vacation" weekend with the Dooley family in Rocky Mount, N.C., the weekend not turning out well for anyone involved. {Chapter 23} ? Eric reveals to his now-therapy partner Marilyn the secrets of his private office, mainly that all the therapy treatment rooms are completely wired for both video and audio surveillance; also the existence of PBI's private extranet tied in with the main headquarters in Roslyn Harbour. {Chapter 24} ? Storyline jumps forward to the next root timeline anchor of fall/winter 2001. ? Eric is offered the position of Chief Administrator of the massively new large bodyworking therapy complex that Dr. Nick and Dr. Chaim plan to open near Rex Hospital in Raleigh, but turns it down because he's afraid it will take too much time away from his patients. ? Eric meets Mary, a newly fresh graduate of the PBI School who comes down to look over the old and new facilities and hopefully work with Eric as his main therapy partner. ? Eric and Mary fall instantly and completely in love at first sight, Eric proposing almost immediately and she accepting. ? Eric resigns from Dr. Nick's practice and the two of them accept positions at a dormant if not nearly-dead practice in Rockport, Maine, then 9-11 happens. ? Eric & fiancé' Mary move up to Rockport to begin their new lives together, but in life as well as in fiction, no road to happiness is without twists and turns and blind curves, it's just a matter of how well you keep your eye on the road and your hands on the wheel.
