  At a rest area couple miles from the state line a state trooper stopped by to
 observe and report,this was part of his daily patrol routine.Texting his wife
 the trooper told her he'd be home in a couple hours.It was just after five p.m.
 and eighty three degrees as the summer season was close.Road weary travelers 
 enjoyed the warm sun as they sat at picnic tables or walked their dogs.Members
 of a rock band on their way to Garland City played Frisbee and young adults 
 with a moving van smoked cigarettes and talked about their future.The trooper
 noticed a man going into the bushes no doubt looking for a blow job.The trooper
 looked at his cell phone to read text message from his wife.The trooper smiled
 for a moment but then noticed a couple at a picnic table.The man was rather 
 scruffy looking wearing dirty jeans and ratty t-shirt.His red baseball cap with
 an M on it seemed out of place on the man.The woman seemed nervous when the 
 trooper approached them."Shut up bitch."The man said in a low voice.The woman
 faked a smile as the trooper walked by.The trooper walked back to his patrol 
 car not before calling for back up.A man in a dirty white"Wife beater"shirt 
 and dirty army pants came out of van with a sawed off shotgun.


 The man fired a shotgun blast at the trooper before he could draw his weapon.
 "C'mon let's get the fuck out of here!"Shotgun shouted at red cap and the 
 woman.People were running for cover or hitting the ground as sound of sirens 
 pierced the once peaceful air.Officers from a nearby town arrived brandishing 
 AR-15 rifles while a deputy sheriff arrived with a shotgun.Wife beater aimed
 his sawed off shotgun at the two local officers.Ome cop fired his AR-15 and 
 wife beater's shoulder was shattered by a 5,56 NATO round.Wife beater screamed
 in pain as he fell to the concrete.Red cap ran into the bushes as the woman
 surrendered to the deputy crying her eyes out.A helicopter was overhead as the 
 pilot was in contact with the highway patrol.Men came running out of the bushes
 as a handful law enforcement officers went into the bushes armed and ready.The
 pilot said that red cap was heading to a homeless camp in the woods.Fifteen
 minutes later the county sheriff's SWAT team had entered the bushes.Red cap
 avoided the homeless camp and went down a trail.Tripping over a large tree root
 red cap broke his ankle.The SWAT team could hear the screams of red cap and the
 jig was up.With nowhere to go red cap held up his hands and gave up.


 Just after six thirty that evening the local sheriff held a press conference 
 confirming that the persons wanted for the rape and murder of a thirteen year
 old boy in the town of Morningside.In a house in a small town a woman watched
 the breaking news on television.A picture of the boy was shown,he wore a red 
 baseball cap with an M on it.The woman prayed that her husband would call as 
 she held her four year old daughter."Mommy there's a police car out front."
 The woman's six year old son said to her.The woman looked out the window and
 saw a highway patrol captain walking up to the front door.She knew the man 
 her husband's boss and friend of the family.The woman opened the door and she
 knew from the look in the captain's eyes her husband had been killed in the 
 line of duty."Noooo!!!"The woman screamed as she fell into the arms of the 
 captain.The man across the street stood in front of his house cursed the 
 three people now in custody"I hope they fry those bastards!"The man said in
 anger.
