In the wee hours of the morning, not long before sunrise,
I found myself slowly drifting out of a very relaxing and
peaceful sleep. Once becoming somewhat aware and alert of
my immediate surroundings, I could not help but to smile.
Tucked away all nice and snug in my arms, Pamela slept
quietly as the two of us lounged together upon the big bed
in my personal suite. I luxuriated in the warm feel of her
wondrous, naked body, letting it comfort and soothe both my
skin and my senses. I then brought a hand to Pamela's head,
and gently ran my fingers throughout her silky blonde hair.
Just having Pamela so close to me was something special.
I smiled at the mere thought of the possibilities which
lay ahead for Pamela and myself, as well as Devon. Since
she had already agreed to devote herself to us, and stay
with us in a three-way relationship, I easily could picture
spending the next 50 or 60 years with both Pamela and Devon.
Devon would forever be my centerpiece and focal point in
life, but I honestly believed that no one could ever love
Pamela more than me. Thus, Pamela would be well taken care
of in terms of companionship and devotion.
It also helped a great deal that she and Devon had gotten
along beautifully together from the first day they stepped
foot on the island. With Pamela's recent commitment to us,
she and Devon were now in the process of falling in love.
Things were looking so good!
The possibilities were truly limitless. Devon and I had
already agreed that our routine schedule once Kristanna, Amy,
Stephanie and Trish all returned home would be one month here
on the island, the next month on vacation in some foreign
land. It would hopefully be a neverending cycle. Bora Bora,
Seychelles, Hawaii, Anguilla, Tahiti, the Bahamas, St. Croix,
Antigua... we had plans of visiting all these exotic islands.
Pamela loved the idea of vacationing on an island paradise
as well, but Devon and I had to cater to her tastes. Thus,
we were planning trips that would intrigue her, too. Pamela
had a certain fascination with Egypt and its history, so we
would definitely spend an upcoming month there. It had also
been her life-long dream to go on an extended tour of Europe.
As you may know by now, I enjoyed making dreams come true.
Pamela had also mentioned such places as the Netherlands,
Argentina, Africa and Scotland. In the United States, she
wanted to visit Niagara Falls and tour the Grand Canyon.
"We have the rest of our lives," I said in a very quiet
tone, as Pamela continued sleeping away in my arms at this
early morning hour. I offered her a gentle kiss upon the
forehead and murmured, "You and Devon will be experts when
it comes to world travel if I have anything to say about it."
I smiled to myself once again. Finally, all this money I
had in life - over one billion dollars to my name - would be
put to good use. I wanted to enlighten and richen the lives
of others. Who better to do that for than the two women who
wanted to devote themselves to me?
It was my first priority to see that Devon and Pamela
live life to its fullest. They wanted to travel and see the
world, so I would make that possible for them. Along the
way, I would shower both of them with so much pure love and
affection. They would never want anything more in life,
because I will see that they have everything.
"Why are you a stripper?" I whispered to Pamela as she
continued lounging in the land of dreams. "My God, woman...
you are much too beautiful to be a stripper."
Pamela was a down-to-earth girl whose busty charms and
personable good nature had endeared her to both Devon and
yours truly. Pamela was a truly beautiful young woman, with
an awe-inspiring figure and a very happy, smiling face that
brightened up any room she was in. Her eyes were somewhat
dark and inquisitive, but they also had a mischievous glint
to them. They were a good representation of her personality.
"Why are you a stripper?" I asked once more. "I used to
think it was a hot idea, but you don't seem that enamored
with your career." I shook my head and added in a whisper,
"You are so gorgeous. You could be a fashion model. I did
not think that women as beautiful as you were strippers."
It didn't matter anymore, I said to myself. Pamela would
never see the stage of a strip club again. I was going to
pamper and spoil her rotten. Pamela, as well as Devon, would
never even have to lift a finger in terms of work again.
They were my two princesses, and I would treat them as such.
That thought danced throughout my mind as I placed my
mouth upon Pamela's neck and trailed a series of kisses all
along its side. "Beautiful," I murmured, my lips cherishing
and worshipping the delicate skin. "So beautiful."
"What are you doing?"
Pamela's tired, groggy voice seemed to startle me for a
moment. Did I wake her up? I didn't mean to.
I withdrew my lips from her neck and smiled down at her
in the darkness. "Sorry, dear. Indulging myself."
"What time is it?" she asked, rustling about in the bed.
"Five-thirty in the morning," I told her. "Why don't you
try and get some more sleep?"
Pamela brought a hand to her enchanting face and covered
it for an instant, then sighed. She sat up and stretched
both arms high above her head, then took a very deep breath.
"We need to talk, Jeremy." Uh oh, I said to myself. The
tone of voice Pamela had just used certainly did not sound
good. "I wanted to talk to you about this last night, but
when you offered to give me that hot oil rubdown, I couldn't
refuse. But I really need to talk to you."
"What is it, sweetheart? Talk to me."
Pamela flipped the wall lamp above the large bed on, then
curled a bedsheet around her body and frowned at me. "This
is very hard for me to say, Jeremy, but I figure it's best
that I tell you now instead of later. I... I... I've changed
my mind. I want to go home to Maryland in two weeks when
everyone else leaves, instead of staying with you and Devon."
"What?" I asked in a shrill tone, my heart feeling as if a
dagger had just been shoved through it. "Wh... WHY?"
Pamela frowned and responded, "Ever since I told you that
I would stay here a couple of weeks ago, Jeremy, I have been
paying close attention to you and Devon. I see the way you
and her smile at each other when you cross paths. I see the
way you look at each other at the dinner table. There just
seems to be a chemistry between the two of you. I... You're
so much in love with her. Devon is so much in love with you.
You and her are truly the perfect couple."
A tear streaked down Pamela's face as she added, "I would
be cheating myself if I did not continue to search for that
type of relationship myself. I... I want what you and Devon
have, Jeremy. I want someone to love me like that."
Still stunned, I shook my head and trembled, "No one will
ever love you more than I could, Pamela. No one."
"That may be true," she nodded, desperately trying to keep
her emotions in check. "But even so, I would always play the
second fiddle to Devon. It is so obvious, Jeremy, that you
love her more than anything. You love her more than you
could ever love me, or anyone else. I would be unfair to
myself if I did not keep searching for that type of love. I
may never find it. But I have to search for it."
"Pamela..."
"No," she cut me off. "I know I would be happy with you
and Devon. I know both of you would treat me good. But I
would always have that little bit of jealousy. I would not
be able to control it, either. I would know that you love
Devon more than me. Devon would love you more than me. I
do not think I would be able to handle that, Jeremy."
"Sweetheart, I..."
"My only wish," she cut me off again, "is that I was as
forward and aggressive with you as Devon was at the outset
of the summer. I have been in love with you since day one,
Jeremy. Maybe if I moved faster, you would feel the same
way for me that you now do about Devon. But even so, I'd
doubt it. You and Devon are too good of a match."
I took a deep breath and gulped, "Is there anything I can
do to change your mind, Pamela?" I shook my head and added,
"Since you said you would stay with us, I have really fallen
big-time for you. I... I want you to stay."
Pamela frowned and answered, "I'm sorry, but I can't. I
want to keep searching for what you and Devon have together.
As I said, I may never find it. But I have faith I will. I
have faith I will find someone who loves me just as much, if
not more, than you love Devon. And that person, whether it
be a man or woman... I love them the same. I have faith."
"No one will ever love you more than me," I reiterated,
now sounding a bit desperate.
"That's possible, but I have to search anyway," she said.
"I don't want to look back years from now and regret that I
never at least searched." Pamela wiped a tear from her face
and added, "You have Devon. Devon has you. You do not need
anyone else in your lives. You two are so happy together."
"Devon needs a girlfriend..." I pouted. "But... I do
understand why you feel the way you do. I wish you felt
differently, I really do... but I understand. What are you
going to do, Pamela, once you return home to Maryland?"
She shrugged her shoulders and replied, "I don't know.
I'll go back to my job, I guess, and continue my education,
though I don't know if it will get me anywhere. I have to
keep trying with that, too."
"Why wouldn't it get you anywhere?" I asked. "My promise
of building a private school in or near your hometown so you
can teach at it still stands."
Pamela's eyes went wide as she exclaimed, "Really? I
mean... you're still willing to do that for me?"
"Of course I am," was my response. "I wish you wanted to
stay with us, but I never go back on a promise. You want to
be a teacher, but you're afraid your background as a stripper
would preclude you from any future teaching positions. Fear
no more, Pamela. As I promised you weeks ago - finish your
education and get a degree, and you'll have a teaching job.
I'll have a school for disabled children built. I think I
could do a lot of good with a school like that."
Pamela smiled and stared at me for a moment, then sighed
and threw her arms around my shoulders in a joyous embrace.
"Thank you, Jeremy! Thank you so much! Thank you!"
"I only do this because I love you, and want you to be
happy," I reminded her, my voice soft. "It will cost me
hundreds of thousands of dollars to build and operate this
school, dear, but your happiness is worth it."
After a brief hesitation, I added, "I would also like it
if you found a different job - someplace other than a strip
club." Her eyes narrowed as I continued, "You're better than
that, Pamela. Way better than that. You're going to have
plenty of money to support yourself from what I pay you for
staying with me these ten weeks. You won't need the money
that being a stripper pays you anymore. I think... no, I
know - you would make an excellent librarian."
"A librarian?" she giggled, pulling away from me.
"Or a book store clerk," I suggested. "You would love a
job like that, sweetheart. The library is your favorite
place in the whole mansion. You go there everyday to read.
It would tide you over until you can become a teacher."
"I will look into it," she nodded. "I must admit - the
eight weeks I have been here have sort of revitalized me.
It is so nice to know that I don't have to go to the strip
club each and every night, and parade myself about in front
of a group of drunken men. Maybe I don't need it anymore.
Maybe it is time for a change."
I shook my head and reiterated, "I still wish that you
would stay with me and Devon. I could grow to love you,
Pamela, just as much as I love Devon."
"You'll never love anyone more than you love Devon. I
know there is someone out there for me, Jeremy. There is a
Devon out there for me, or a Jeremy. I'll find him or her."
"You already found Devon and Jeremy," I frowned. "Us."
"I know," she nodded. "But still... again, I don't want
to be the third wheel of a three-way relationship. Maybe I
never will find what I am looking for. Maybe, just maybe, I
will look back ten years from now and regret that I left you
and Devon. But... I think I would regret it more if I did
not leave, and at least take the chance. It's my life-long
fantasy, Jeremy, to be in a relationship like the one which
exists between you and Devon. To be that loved..."
"If you ever change your mind," I croaked, shaking my
head, "I'm just a phone call away. A month from now, six
months from now, ten years... anytime. Call me."
"You've been so good to me," Pamela whined, wrapping her
arms around me once again. "I've never met anyone who is as
nice and more kind than you are, Jeremy. Never." Her arms
tightened their grip as she added, "Devon is a lucky girl."
"I'm a lucky guy..." I murmured, as the embrace ended.
"Speaking of Devon, I owe it to her to tell her this in
person," Pamela nodded. "She has been good to me, too. I
bet you anything that Devon is already up and about this
morning. She is an early riser."
"Devon stayed with Kristanna and Trish last evening," I
countered. "If she is not in Trish's bedroom, check the
kitchen. Devon loves her morning orange juice."
Pamela turned and snatched her nightshirt from the floor,
then slipped it over her head and into place upon her body.
"I'm gonna go talk to Devon now - if she is awake." Pamela
placed a kiss upon my cheek and smiled. "It's okay, Jeremy.
You didn't do anything wrong. I just think there is someone
special for me, like Devon is for you, in the world."
Once again, I frowned and nodded my head. "If that is
what you want, dear, then so be it. I support you. I'll
always be here for you, too. Remember that."
Pamela flashed me another smile, though I could tell that
there was a certain amount of apprehension and sorrow in her.
She and I had true feelings for one another, but that didn't
matter anymore. Pamela was choosing a different path.
"I can't believe she just broke up with me," I murmured
to myself, once Pamela exited my suite and closed its door.
* * *
Still in bed, I pulled the thin sheet up to my neck and
then turned onto my side. With Pamela no longer in the
suite, my emotions began to get the better of me. I tried
to stave them off, but a fresh batch of tears cascaded from
my eyes and dripped onto the mattress below. I felt bad.
Indeed, I could spend the rest of my life with Devon -
and no one but Devon - and be forever happy. I really did
not need anyone else in my life except for her. But at the
same time, having an added lover such as Pamela would do
nothing but make my life that much better.
Even more than that, however, I wanted Pamela to share in
our lives because I knew she would provide Devon with the
dimension that only a woman can give to another woman. I
really should have followed Pamela so I could be with Devon
when she gives her the bad news. But I chose not to, mainly
because Pamela wanted to deliver the news herself. I could
only hope that Devon would take it better than I did.
My tears became a bit more prevalent as I then thought
about all the hopes and plans that I had involving Pamela.
I wanted to take her, as well as Devon, to places such as
Egypt and Europe. As I detailed earlier, those - among many
others - were spots that really interested Pamela. Now, I
would never get the chance to take her anywhere on vacation.
Pamela had really been a pet project of mine since she
first arrived on the island. For weeks, there seemed to be
a cloud of mystery which surrounded her. Devon attributed
it to her career as an exotic dancer, saying Pamela had put
up an invisible wall around herself to keep all the bad
people and negative influences out of her life.
But I was able to break through that wall, and tear its
barriers down. Underneath that exterior, I learned, was a
young woman who - despite how she wanted others to think -
was very unsure about herself. The future - once she became
too old to strip - scared her. Would Pamela ever be accepted
as a teacher at a regular school? If not, what does she do
with her life then? Pamela's dancing career had given her a
somewhat jaded mind, too. Could she ever trust anyone?
Most of all, however, when I was able to break that wall
down, I found someone who simply wanted to be loved. Pamela
wanted to accepted for who she was. She wanted to be loved
and cared for like everyone in this world has a right to be.
What hurt me was that Pamela had finally found what she
had been searching her entire life for. She found a pair of
people - specifically Devon and yours truly - who were more
than willing to provide her with the unconditional love
which she sought in life. Not only did Pamela have real,
legitimate feelings for me, but she felt very strongly about
Devon as well - and vice-versa. Yet, Pamela nixed it.
On the other hand, I had to look at things from Pamela's
point of view. She did not want to be the third wheel in
a three-way relationship. I understood her stance on that.
What if the roles were reversed? What if I was the third
wheel? I loved Devon more than anything, indeed... but what
if I was second in her life? What if her heart belonged to
someone else, and I was only allowed to borrow it from time
to time? Yes, I understand Pamela's reasons. There was no
way I could co-exist in a relationship with Devon and another
woman unless I knew she loved me just as much as I loved her.
Pamela must have felt the same way.
Still, I was confident that if she were to stay with us,
Pamela would be showered with more love than she could ever
handle. I would personally see to it. I knew that Devon
and I could make her so happy in life. We would bring a
smile to her face. But Pamela wanted something else.
"I love Pamela," I moaned outloud, shaking my head.
"Pamela loves me. Why can't we be together?"
Fortunately, I fell asleep in the middle of my depressing
thoughts. One of my problems throughout my entire life is
when I become too focused on something, it is difficult for
me to finally let go. Once Victoria (my ex-fiancee) left me,
I sent myself into solitary exile on this island. It took
me several years to finally get over her. Even so, I still
think about Victoria and "what could have been" everyday. I
certainly hope I do not have similar thoughts about Pamela...
* * *
After my discussion with Pamela, I slept for a good three
hours. I only woke up when I felt a gentle hand continually
pushing and prodding itself upon my shoulder. "Jeremy?" came
a familiar female's voice. "Jeremy? Wake up, Jeremy..."
After opening my eyes, I smiled at the intoxicating sight
of Devon as she sat on the bed beside me. An instant later,
I threw my arms around her shoulders and hugged her fiercely.
The 25-year-old returned my embrace with equal fervor, and
soon I felt like crying once again.
"Did you talk with Pamela?" I asked, holding my emotions.
"Yeah... I did," Devon frowned, nodding her head as we
pulled away from one another. "She told me how she feels."
At that moment, I realized that Kristanna was also in the
suite with us. Apparently, she had come in the same time
Devon did. Kristanna stood a few feet away from the bed,
with both hands linked together in front of her as she looked
at both Devon and yours truly. "Hi Kristanna," I greeted.
"Hi Jeremy," she responded with a smile, before I turned
my attention back toward Devon.
"Pamela said you took her news pretty hard," Devon pouted.
"She felt really bad, Jeremy. We cried that she is not going
to stay with us, but I understand her reasoning."
"I understand, too," I pouted.
"Come here, honey," Devon said to Kristanna, motioning
with her head. The incredibly tall, leggy blonde did just
that - stepping closer and taking a seat on the bed beside
both Devon and me. Devon returned her focus to me and said,
"I know you really like Pamela, Jeremy. But all we can do
is her wish her the best of luck. That's what I did."
"What are we going to do for you, sweetheart?" I asked,
placing my hand upon the back of Devon's head. "I know how
much you need another woman in your life. Pamela does not
want to stay with us. Trish wants to return to her family
in Canada. Amy and Stephanie want to practice submission.
Lisa and Lindsay... I know you liked them, dear - especially
Lindsay. But both of them aren't here anymore. Who else is
there? I don't know how we'll find a girl for you."
"Hi Jeremy," Kristanna squealed, waving her hand at me.
"Hi Kristanna," I said for the second time, also giving
her a peculiar glare. Two greetings in 30 seconds?
Devon offered a giggle as she patted me on the shoulder.
"I think, dear Jeremy, that you are forgetting someone."
"Who?" I asked, confused, before my eyes went wide an
instant later. "KRISTANNA?"
"Kristanna was with me in the kitchen when Pamela told me
of her decision," Devon murmured. "After Pamela walked away,
Kristanna also told me something that I have suspected for a
long time - she is crazy in love with you, Jeremy. We had a
long talk of our own about it." Devon paused and continued,
"Kristanna said she has been in love with you for three
years - ever since the first day you and her met in Peru."
"I told her how I miss you, and can't wait to see you
again, each time I leave the island," Kristanna said to me.
"But I love my family, and miss them too when I am away from
them. I've always been between a rock and a hard place."
"Kristanna said she has recently talked with you about
her feelings," Devon offered, now patting my wrist. "Is it
true that you told her that you could love her too... if it
wasn't for the geographics? You here, and her in Norway?"
"Yes, I did," was my response, now unsure of where this
discussion was heading.
"It's okay, Jeremy," Devon assured me. "I'm not angry at
you, or anything. I'm just talking right now. Pamela is
your favorite amongst all the girls. Well, Kristanna is my
favorite. She always has been."
"I thought Trish was your favorite," I countered.
"No," Devon retorted, holding a finger up. "Trish was my
favorite amongst the girls who I thought would possibly stay
with us. I never included Kristanna in that group, because
she has told me in the past how much she misses her family,
and doesn't want to be away from them for too long. I never
included her in the group because there was never any reason
for me to believe that she would stay with us."
"Then Kristanna is my favorite too, using that logic,"
were my words, which made the Norwegian look at me with a
hint of shock upon her face. I turned toward her and said,
"You've been my best friend for three years. You were the
only person willing to be my friend when I had absolutely
nothing in my life. I... as we've gone over before, never
allowed myself to fall in love with you because I knew that
you would always return to Norway, or school in California.
You were always here for just a week or so at a time."
"I've been here for two months straight now," Kristanna
said. "The longest I was here before, Jeremy, was 11 days.
I've always loved you, but I love my family too. If I'm
here, I'm away from my family. If I'm with my family, I'm
away from you. But being here for two months straight has
me more attached to you than ever before, Jeremy. I... I
don't want to leave. I want you in my life everyday."
"What are you saying?" I asked, confused.
"I talked with Devon about it," Kristanna answered. "If
you would be interested, Jeremy, I would like to stay with
you and Devon. Devote my life to both of you. All I have
wanted these past three years was for you and me to be
together. Geographics have been a major problem, yes, but
I'll forego my family if I can be with you and Devon."
Needless to say, I was stunned. Absolutely stunned.
"I know Kristanna's primary attraction in this is to be
with you, Jeremy," Devon admitted. "But she and I are good
friends, too. We've done a lot together over the past two
months. I am positive that both of us could grow to love
each other. We'll share. We'll share everything. Krissy
could give me the female companionship that I long to have.
She would give you a second girl, Jeremy, which all men seem
to dream about. And, most of all, I think you would agree
that Krissy is someone whom both you and I can trust."
Devon paused and added, "Instead of visiting the pyramids
in Egypt on an upcoming vacation - like Pamela wanted - we
could spend that month in Norway." Kristanna's eyes lit up
at those words as Devon continued, "Maybe we could spend a
month or two there every year. That way, Kristanna could be
with her family. I think it would work out great."
"You would love my parents' farm," the 22-year-old told
me, before offering a playful glare. "We would turn you
into a goat herder, Jeremy! My dad would put you to work!"
I laughed in response as Devon added, "We could still go
on vacation to all the other places we want to go. Two
months, one at a time, each year in Norway. That leaves ten
months free. Five months here on the island, five months to
travel the rest of the world and go all the places we want."
"Are you actually willing to go there and eat Norwegian
food?" I asked Devon with a grin. "Fish pudding?"
"Fiskepudding el fiskfarce," Kristanna corrected me in a
playful manner. "That is how you pronounce it."
"I never thought of their food..." Devon retorted.
"Oh, it's not so bad," Kristanna scolded us, but again,
in a playful way. "There is plenty of American food to be
had in Norway, too. Besides, I have gotten both of you to
like lutefisk and lefse. That's Norway's favorite foods."
"It's a concession," Devon nodded, looking at me. "If
Kristanna is willing to leave her family so she can spend
her life with us, we should be more than happy to go on
vacation in Norway twice a year so she can be with them.
Love and relationships are about giving and sacrifices."
"What about college?" I asked her. "You're one year
away from earning a degree in Archeology."
"I'll give that up to be with you," Kristanna answered.
"Why would I need a degree, if I spend half my life on this
island and the other half on vacation all over the world?"
"You understand that I have every intention of marrying
Devon?" I confirmed. "Nothing will ever change that."
"I don't want to come between you and Devon," she told
me. "I just want to fit in. That is how Pamela and I are
different. I can't think of a better situation for me, in
terms of a relationship, than being with the two of you. I
want to be with you, Jeremy. I can't stress that enough. I
can live with Devon being your wife, and your number one, as
long as I can be a part of your life. As long as you accept
me, and love me, I will be happy."
"What's your answer?" Devon asked me. "You haven't said
one way or the other whether you'd be interested in this."
"Oh, I'm interested," was my response. "I just... I find
it difficult to believe that Kristanna would be willing to
give up her family. I know how much they mean to her."
"You mean more," the blonde countered. "You and Devon. I
learned that over the past two months. I've been with you
for two months. I'm finally hooked. I don't want to leave.
I can search my entire life for true love, like Pamela wants
to. But why keep searching if I've already found it?"
I nodded my head and breathed, "I've been in love with you
for three years running too, Kristanna. But I've kept those
feelings under lock and key within myself, because I did not
want them to overtake and consume me. You were always gone
just as fast as you came here."
I nodded once more and added, "Maybe it is time to unlock
those feelings, and let them come out." Devon smiled as I
concluded, "If I had my choice, sweetheart, I'd rather you
stay with us instead of Pamela. Honestly."
"Jeremy..." Kristanna moaned, suddenly wrapping her arms
around my shoulders and hugging me rather fiercely. She
turned her face toward Devon and smiled, then extended an
arm and brought her into the loving hug as well.
Now locked in a three-way embrace with two of the most
beautiful women I had ever known in my life, a single tear
streaked down my face. Was I in the midst of my defining
moment? Yes, I was. This was what I wanted.
"I love both of you!" was my tearful exclamation.
