Being a Viet Nam vet myself, I want to tell you how much I appreciated this story. Viet Nam in in 1968 was not the best place in the world to be, especially if you were a grunt marine. \line

I'm always tickled by a good mind control story (like yours) where the \line character with the powers *doesn't* go berserk doing all sorts of horrible \line things. It seems that most authors who do those sorts of stories have their \line

y... thank you. My dad was an A-4 pilot and his brother flew helicopters (no idea what type, though) in Vietnam. Both were Marines. I don't believe either of them had to go through situations too terribly similar to the things in your story, though I know
my dad had his plane shot out from under him once, and my uncle's helicopter crashed due to mechanical failure, killing everyone on board except for him and one other (he was paralyzed as a result). I think your story may help me to be somewhat closer to
both of them as a result of reading it, though, and I just wanted to thank you for that.

I do not normally read stories outside of my "set of authors" that I have read for years. They hadnt updated in a few days, so I decided to pick a story and read -- chose yours.\line
If all stories here were as good as yours, my policy of only staying with "established" authors would be
no more. Truthfully, I enjoyed all of it -- I also notice, though, that i had read parts of it before. I read the chapter 1 a few times, at the beginning, but couldnt get a good grasp on the story as he kept slipping in and out of clarity so gave it up. I
