Aphrodite’s Revenge

Chapter 5: A Moo-ving Experience

“Yes! Oh yes, please! I will do anything, anything you ask of me....” Pasiphae gasped in shock at the sound of her own voice. “My voice...I can speak!” She cried aloud. I thought I heard her choke back tears of joy. “She...she...she is gone. And I am free once more. My lust for the bull is gone at last! Oh that terrible, terrible bull...it is over.” My stomach, which I had just realized had been knotted this entire time, began to settle, as did my conscious. I could return home, and with very little guilt.

“At last!” Pasiphae sighed, bowing her head to rest for a moment. And then...

“What is this? I...I cannot move.” Though from the crowd’s view it did not appear as though Pasiphae were moving, as the creator of the cow suit, I knew that Pasiphae was busy trying to squirm free from her leather bindings. But I had designed the cow so that the more Pasiphae struggled the tighter it would bind her. At the time I had thought it a clever idea...

“What madness holds me against my will?” With each passing second her struggles became fiercer, and her entanglement more certain.

“What strange manner of dress is this? And what is that heaviness that I feel pulling at...” Pasiphae paused in mid sentence. The Queen had just become painfully aware that she had an audience. “Oh!”

She looked frightened and lost as ran her eyes over the crowd of people hoping to find at least one friendly face. Her eyes ran over everyone - her slaves, the peasants, the priests, her advisors, the foreign dignitaries, her empty throne...

The Queen gasped. She had just come face to face with her ladies.

Theirs was the look of unmasked triumph. They smirked, and looked down at their Queen with cold, pitiless eyes, judging her just as she had judged them so many times before. Their wildest dreams had come true - their haughty Queen was a cow.

Pasiphae looked small and confused, “What...what is everyone staring at?”

The lady nearest Pasiphae arched a brow to catch her attention, and with an icy stare of disapproval, flicked her eyes in the direction the Queen’s exposed breasts. Pasiphae strained to look beneath her but could not bend herself far enough. The Queen looked back in confusion. The lady simply smiled in a pleasant, deadly sort of way.

“I don’t understand,” Pasiphae said weakly.

Just then a cool breeze blew across the market, causing the Queen’s soft flesh to dimple. Suddenly she understood. The Queen felt the heavy hang of her breasts, the pull of gravity as they tugged at her, and the unforgiving pinching of the bells....

“My TITS!” She screamed with righteous indignation, and suddenly all the pitiful fear was washed away by a tidal wave of rage. I think that it was in that instance that all of it - the cow suit, its construction, her fitting - came flooding back to her.

“Is this how you treat your Queen, commoners?” She vented, turning on the crowd like a lioness, causing her breasts to ring loudly. “Cover your eyes at once; I am too pure for the likes of you! All who gaze upon their Queen shall feel my wrath, even if I will pluck your eyes out myself!”

But the Queen was making too great a spectacle of herself for anyone to turn away. Every man and woman in the crowd gaped at the image of their queen become cow. Pasiphae turned her anger on Minos.

“You!” She glared, finding her husband at last. “This is all your fault, you are to blame. I told you to sacrifice that bull when you had the chance!”

“But dear, it was you who said...”

“You idiot!” Pasiphae seethed, causing Minos to shrink back into his throne even further. “Just look at me! See what your greed has made of me! I, the pride of Crete, the jewel of the Mediterranean, the...”

“But my love you are still the most beautiful...” Minos began.

“I am belled like a common cow, you dolt!”

“But if you would only listen to me...”

“No, you listen to me you old fool! I will have none of your excuses this time. Get me out of this ridiculous costume at once or...or...ouch!!!” And here the Queen paused to try to shake the bells from her nipples, causing the bells to ring loudly. “Ooooh...my nipples are killing me!” she lamented. Pasiphae shook herself harder, but the bells remained firmly affixed to her nipples. I saw a foreign dignitary’s eyes bulge as the Queen breasts swayed like a pendulum beneath her.

“Stay still my dearest Pasiphae,” Minos began, “and my guard will push you back to the palace where...”

“Cease your prattlings Minos, and just free me at once. I do no wish to be pushed about like a common whore,” she snapped, but Minos did not respond. “Minos did you hear me? Get me out of this silly costume now or I...”

But Minos was still not responding; no one did. Everyone’s attention had suddenly turned to something more important. And that something was behind the Queen and moving...

“Have all of you gone dumb? Did none of you hear me!?!?”

“Pasiphae,” Minos breathed in alarm,, “do not move!”

“DO NOT MOVE?!” Pasiphae bellowed.

“Pasiphae by the gods, just this once, do as I say!” Minos pleaded urgently. “Cease your struggling!”

“I will cease struggling only when I am free of this...this...Minos? Minos, why do you look so pale? What’s everyone staring at?” From the look on Pasiphae’s face, I think she knew the answer.

Pasiphae could not see it, but I could and so could everyone else. Aphrodite had been true to his word - he had removed all lust from the Queen’s mind, but the scent of her lust still soaked her body and it was catching the bull’s attention. The more Queen Pasiphae struggled in her cow, the more she coated the morning air with her intoxicating scent - a scent that could tempt even a bull

Lifting its head the white bull sniffed at the air with its large, round nostrils. It turned its massive head side to side in search of the seductive aroma. Then it took a few steps in Pasiphae’s direction, everyone turning a shade whiter as it did so.

“Pasiphae,” Minos breathed, “do not move! The bull is coming toward you!”

“WHAT!?!?” Panic overtook the Queen as she jerked herself in every direction, desperately trying see what was happening behind her. The bull sensed the Queen’s harried movements and moved closer, its heavy hooves shaking the earth with each step closer to the Queen.

“Pasiphae! Do not move! For all that is holy - do not move!” Minos shouted and the crowd erupted in panic.

The market square echoed with the cries and shouts of almost every man and woman in Crete as the kingdom gave way to chaos. Pasiphae, finding it impossible to see behind her, did as her husband told her and turned forward shutting her eyes tight and began to pray. She stood deathly still, holding her breath, hoping the bull would lose her scent. I found myself holding my own breath too. A long moment went by followed by another as the cries of the market streets filled the entire city.

“Oh please, oh please, oh please,” the Queen whispered to herself over and over, fighting back tears.

The bull sniffed at the air and looked about. It grunted in frustration and turned, ambling away from the Queen. It had lost the scent! I let out a sigh of relief.

And then I watched in horror as the Queen’s own body betrayed her. Few in the crowd could have see it, but I had a close vantage point and could see it happen instantly, dooming Pasiphae to her evil fate. Pasiphae’s sex was still swollen and thick from a year’s worth of unfulfilled, feverous desire. Soaked as it was with lust, it made the Queen an easy target for the bull. But worse, the Queen’s legs began to tremble from fear which causing her little sex to tremble as well putting her heavenly scent into the hot, humid air. She may as well have been a beacon for the bull, for the more nervous she became, the more her legs shook, and the more her legs shook the harder her sex throbbed.

To our horror the bull took a quick intake of air and snorted loudly - very loudly. It knew. It turned around and this time there could be no mistake - it was heading straight toward the Queen’s quivering sex.

Pasiphae felt the earth shaking beneath her, jostling her with each hoof beat. The monster that weighed as much as a house was fast approaching...

“Minos! Minos, free me! You must get me out of here!” Pasiphae shrieked as the bull snorted a hot blast of air against the Queen’s exposed womanhood. Pasiphae jerked forward reflexively, but the cow kept her pinned in place. This allowed the white bull to blast another powerful jet of air into the Queen’s quivering sex as he sniffed at her scent.

The bull stopped just a few inches behind Pasiphae and sniffed. It must have found her scent to its liking for it put its snout forward and nuzzled her sex with it.

“Aah!” Pasiphae gasped. “No, no, no, no!” she repeated deliriously as the bull’s snout continued to nuzzle. Then I watched as the bull pulled back, looked at the Queen’s delicate sex, and licked it.

“OH!” Pasiphae gasped and then again as the bull’s thick, broad tongue caressed across the entirity of her womanhood. “Oh my!”

“Pasiphae don’t struggle!” Her husband warned her. “Ramain docile! It might still lose interest if you keep still!”

But all reason had fled from the Queen’s as she madly fought within her confines to free herself. All the Queen succeeded in doing was arousing the bull’s interest even further. There was her sex, struggling back and forth in front of the bull. It was worse than waving a red flag at the animal. And it was all the bull needed...

The crowd gasped as the white bull’s weapon slid slowly out from its sheath revealing a thick long shaft of dark obsidian. It glistened a sinister midnight in the bright sunlight.

“What is happening? I can’t see! Someone tell me what is happening behind me! What was that sound? What is going on behind me?! By the gods...!”

But none answered the Queen, the were all too busy watching in horrified fascination as the bull’s shaft arched upward, seeming to grow forever. Everyone watched... everyone save the Queen.

“Minos, do something! You can’t let this happen to me. I’m...I’m afraid, Minos!”

But Minos was not listening, he was too captivated by the bull with a shaft like a battering ram.

“MINOS?!”

“I...I...I don’t know what to do.” The King stuttered, unable to take his eyes from the monstrous organ. “I’ve never seen anything like it...”

“Damn you Minos!” Pasiphae clenched her teeth, determined to take charge of the situation herself. “You there,” she shouted to one of the King’s guardsmen. “Lead your men this way this instant and capture this bull!”

The guard shook himself into consciousness and motioned for his men to follow him. They took a few steps forward and readied their weapons, moving in a careful formation to surround the bull and take him down quickly, so as not to injure their Queen.

“You imbeciles, what in Hades do you think are you doing?” Pasiphae screamed furiously. “Do you think I want my prize bull killed? Do you have any idea just how valuable this bull is? Put away your weapons and get a net! I will...” But Pasiphae suddenly gasped.

The white bull reared up and placed its massive forelegs on the back of the Queen’s cow, pinning her in place, and sending Queen Pasiphae into a new panic of screaming fits.

“Kill it! Kill it now! Do it quickly!” Pasiphae screamed. The guards did not move. “Move you idiots! Obey me at once!”

The guards looked to one another, and acted as one mind, stepping back into the crowd and each of them sheathing their weapons just as the bull was finished unsealthing his. From the corner of my eyes I saw a few of the court’s bolder ladies move closer to get a better view.

“What!?!? No! No wait! You cannot disobey, I...oh no, noooo!!!!” Pasiphae screamed hysterically as her cow creaked beneath the massive weight of the bull.

“Someone, anyone save me!” Pasiphae gasped desperately. “Please!”

None came to their Queen’s rescue.

“But you must! You have to! I am your Queen! All must obey me. I am...”

But Pasiphae stopped in midsentence as she suddenly became engulfed by a great shadow. Towering above the little cow was the white bull, casting a long, dark shadow over Pasiphae. For the first time in her life the Queen was speechless. Her mouth dropped as she stared at the ground where the shadow enveloped her. Pasiphae’s breasts rang nervously as the bull rocked the cow as it sought to steady itself.

“By the gods!” Pasiphae gasped. “That cannot be the bull!”

But it was.

The creature was huge, big enough to make the Queen appear as nothing more than a small as a field mouse. Behind her it grunted.

“I do not will this!” Pasiphae called over her shoulder. “Do you hear me you stupid bull? I am the Queen!”

The bull snorted contemptuously.

“You are my property,” she shouted, struggling hard. “You were a gift to me from the sea. Do you hear me? I own you! I am your master! “

The bull made no noise. Pasiphae struggled harder to turn around.

“How dare you ignore me! You big, dumb, stupid brute! You are my bull - my pet bull! MINE!”

The white bull grunted eagerly. It was almost ready.

“No...no...no man may treat the Queen this way! I do not will this! Do you hear me? I am your Queen,, and you are my bull!” Pasiphae pushed and strained to turn around. “You must obey me! You are my property, my pet, and you must do as I.......oh. Oh!!”

And she saw him. High above her like a god on Mount Olympus he towered over her and his eyes dark, fathomless eyes bored directly into hers, captivating her with the promise of masculine dominance.

She was a woman enchanted again, only this time there was no magic binding her. Or was there? For a moment Pasiphae and the bull, Queen and animal, woman and beast, locked eyes, and they both knew that the bull, not the Queen, was the one in control. I would have paid any amount of gold to know what thoughts were running through her arrogant mind at that moment...

I saw a dark fascination begin to creep into Pasiphae’s deep blue eyes to mix with the fear. She opened her mouth to protest, but the bull snorted, taking his gaze away and letting the Queen know that she should do likewise.

Confused, bewildered, Pasiphae leaned forward as commanded and waited. She had no other choice.

It seemed like an eternity before it came to her. I watched with horrible anticipation as the wide end of the creature’s impossibly huge phallus lumbered upward and made the slightest of contact with the Queen, brushing lightly against the edge of her delicate sex causing the Queen to bite down.

Pasiphae clenched her teeth as she felt her gentle sex being cruelly teased. The white monster shifted its weight so that its enormous member danced gently across the Queen’s soft womanhood, positioning itself for the fatal thrust.

“No, no, no, no,” Pasiphae pleaded trying to squirm forward in her cow. But unable to find any room to maneuver she could only close her eyes to the inevitable. “Please no! I beg you. I’ll give you anything you want. Jewels, diamonds, anything! I will give you cows! Cows by the thousands! Just not me. Not me! I am Queen! I am the Queen of Cre...AIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEE!!!!”

Her head jerked skyward, letting loose a pained, shocked cry that rang throughout the market. It took but a second but when it came to Pasiphae it filled her entire being. We all watched as Aphrodite’s bull penetrated and filled the very symbol of our empire.

The bull pulled itself back to drive into her again.

“No,” the Queen gasped. “It cannot mean to...! No, not again, please not more...”

But the bull drove forward and thrust itself deeper into the once proud Queen with all its heavenly might. Pasiphae tried to stifle her second cry but her efforts were in vain - she screamed so loud that I am sure it shook the very foundations of Olympus.

“BY THE GODS!!!!”

It pushed with all its weight now driving deep into the Queen, so that her yielding flesh gave way to every inch of the bull’s enormity. Pasiphae’s eyes became wide circles and her mouth hung open. She was feeling every inch of her punishment now. I must admit I could not help but feel a little excited by the sight of this haughty Queen being brought low before the eyes of her entire kingdom. The bull was impossibly huge, enormously wide, and its power over Pasiphae was as absolute as hers had been over all of Crete. Nor was I alone in my sentiments. The court ladies eyes blazed with a malicious delight, feasting openly on the sigh of their Queen become cow.

“NOOOOOOO!!!!!” Pasiphae cried as the bull that she had stolen a year ago to this day began rutting her harder. “It’s a god, I am mating a god,” I heard her chant to herself, “I saw a god in those eyes...”

Queen and bull mated and it was both an erotic and terrible sight. Even to this day the sounds of their unholy union haunt my memories as much as do the images. I can still hear it grunting, and bellowing, and blasting hot air as it mated Pasiphae, stealing from us our Queen, and claiming her as a prize of its own.

It took only a few thrusts to wind Pasiphae and soon her head hug limp in her cow, panting and gasping for air. The bull seemed to sense the Queen’s fatigue for it relented and let her catch her breath. Beads of sweat ran down from her forehead and what was left of her once glorious locks of hair were strewn about her face.

I took the time to glance behind the Queen’s cow to where the bull had joined itself to her. It was not for any puerile desire that I looked, but rather to satisfy what had always been a curious mind. What I found did not surprise me though it did shock me to see it first hand - it was indeed a bull that inhabited our Queen and not a god as some story tellers would later claim. I know this for certain, for even a god as dark and as terrible as Aphrodite would have had more pity on Pasiphae than the bull showed her. She was stretched to her limits.

Pasiphae obviously agreed with me. It took several minutes for the Queen to regain her strength but when she did she tried desperately to squirm forward so as to find some relief from the enormity lodged deep inside of her. But the fastenings of the cow only tightened their grip, keeping her tethered to her place. Pasiphae moaned piteously, and I felt a pang of guilt for having made the cow suit so restrictive to movement

The giant creature snorted in amusement as it watched its victim squirming beneath it, vainly trying to find relief from her impalement. It shifted about, stretching her further. “Owwww!” Pasiphae groaned, and I was certain that she was being stretched beyond her limits.

“Minos,” Pasiphae gasped, her voice now hoarse and desperate. “My husband! It...it is so...so huge, so unbearably huge! Get it out of me, get it out of me now! By the gods Minos, you must get it out before I...before I ... UGGGHHHHH!!!!”

Pasiphae involuntarily groaned as her coveted bull renewed its efforts within her. The bull thrust so hard that I heard the frame of the cow crack and the cry from Pasiphae that followed surely must have pierced beyond Crete’s borders.

Once more it took only a few thrusts to exhaust the Queen completely, but once more the bull ceased its thrusting just as the Queen was nearing unconsciousness. There would be no relief for her, even fainting was forbidden the Queen. This dance continued several times more, each time bringing the gasping Queen to the utter brink before pulling back.

Soon the ordeal became too much and Pasiphae was no longer able to even scream. She simply lay there as the white bull did with her as it willed. She was taking it, but t was just as well - she had no choice in the matter anyway.

For a moment, I actually thought that the Queen might be allowed to pass out, when I noticed something...odd...stir in her eyes. Her eyelids flickered, and I saw her body stiffen. She was alert again - very, very alert and very alarmed. And then I remembered how Aphrodite had told me that she had wanted Pasiphae mated, but mated in a way so that everyone, especially Pasiphae, would think that Pasiphae had wanted the bull. I then began to wonder if Aphrodite had lifted her curse at all, or if it was all just a clever trick...

Suddenly the Queen’s head jerked up. “Minos! It’s happening!” The Queen gasped in horror. “I think its going to....going to...UUUGGGHHH,” she groaned, struggling against the bull’s increasing ferocity. “The bull is going to...” but again she groaned as the bull came at her with increasing urgency.

“Pasiphae what is happening?” Minos pleaded.

“Inside of me...it feels like...OH!” Pasiphae gasped in horrified wonder. “The bull! The bull is going to...OH! OH MY!” Her eyes grew wider as she realized what was happening. “MINOS! I feel it starting to...happen...its like a tremor in me...a quake. I think I can feel it...starting...to...happen. It’s going to be like a...OHHHHHH! Like...like...like an earthquake...an earthquake inside of me! It is about to happen...inside...of...me...I...OH! Oh my! OH MY!”

“Pasiphae!”

“Minos!” The Queen cried throatily. “Minos don't’ let me...don’t let it...I can’t...OH!” she struggled to get her words out. “It’s going to be like an earthquake, in me. In me! Everyone is watching. Everyone is...oooh...everyone is...”

But she couldn’t finish her sentence. The bull’s thrusts were increasing in tempo, her bells were ringing louder and faster, and the Queen’s mouth grew wide in astonishment. Then there came from that beautiful female mouth a sound that I wish never to hear again - a deep, primal sound that transcended the bounds of what is human.

“Oh...oh! Ooooooo!”

Pasiphae’s eyes became as round as saucers as she heard the eery moan escaped from her lips once more. She stared in shock at the crowd as the bull continued to mate, as if hoping one of them could explain away her terrible sound. She watched as the smirks on the faces of the court ladies melted away as the disturbing noise came from her a second time. Pasiphae’s eyes darted desperately about the crowd, searching for her husband as the seemingly impossible happened - with each thrust from the bull the Queen bellowed some more. It was almost as if she was calling to the creature.

The bull began thrusting faster.

“Pasiphae?” Minos pleaded to his young wife.

Pasiphae shook her head frantically as her bells rang alarmingly fast. “Minos...I....I....I can’t...I don’t think I can hold out any lon...oh! Oh! Oh! Ooooo! Oooooo!”

“Pasiphae no!”

“Minos I’m...Ooooo! I’m...Ooooo! I’m sorry Minos! I’m so sorry! I can’t...Ooooo! I can’t...I don’t think I can....oh! Ooooo! Ooooo!”

Pasiphae’s eyes growing heavy and a new look, a look of dark abandonment, overtake them. Pasiphae was losing herself and I watched as she began to sway back and forth in her cow suit in rhythm to the bull’s thrusts. I knew, as did the King, that the Queen’s movements were timed to drive it deeper into her. The pleasure that I had previously felt vanished with the sound of another strange moan.

Pasiphae’s hungry eyes locked with her husband’s horrified eyes and they both knew that it had to happen.

“I must...,” she said between bellows, struggling to get even that much out.

“But Pasiphae, please no! Not with a bull. Not with Aphrodite’s bull!”

“MY bull!”

“Pasiphae?!”

“It’s MY bull!” she insisted, her eyes ablaze in jealousy

There was nothing the King could do; his wife had not felt the sweet release of orgasm for a year but she was finding it now; finding it in a bull. HER bull. All her subjects, her peasants, her slaves, her ladies and nobles, and foreign dignitaries, and most of all her husband were about to witness her act of love making to very the creature that she had stolen from a god.

“Ooooooh,” she groaned, rocking in rhythm to the bull. “Yeeeees. I stole you, I stole you from a God. From a God!. Myyyyy buuuuullllll. Oooooh! My bull. My bull. My beauuuuutiful bull. Ooooooh yeeeeessss.

“Pasiphae stop at once!” But Pasiphae could not hear her husband, or did not wish to, and merely closed her eyes and pursed her lips up.

“Ooooooh! I own you. I own you, I OWN you!l” she began to chant in deliriously as her cries grew in pitch nearing their crest. “No! You own me! Oooooh, you own me! My bull owns me! My bull, my bull, MY BULL! MINE! MINE! MIIIIIIIINE!!! Oh YEEEEEEES!”

The white bull strained and grunted behind our Queen, blasting great gusts of steam down from its nostrils so that it was a like a machine pistoning in and out of her. The cow frame shook violently so that I feared that it would break apart. Then the Queen made a noise that made the hairs on the back of my head stand up.

“Oooooooooooooooooo!” Pasiphae bellowed madly. “Ooooooooooooo!” She shouted again and again and at last I finally realized what sound it was that the Queen was making all this time - the lulling of a cow. The Queen was not moaning, she was mooing!

“Pasiphae, no! You musn’t do this!” Minos shouted.

“Mooooooooooooooooo!” She moaned like a cow in heat. “Mooooooooooooooooo!”

We all watched as our Queen, the symbol of our very nation, eagerly mated herself to Aphrodite’s bull.

“Great gods...” a lady choked in disgust. I saw a few more ladies look away, repulsed by the image of their queen, mooing like a cow in heat.

“Pasiphae...?” Minos pleaded weakly. But Pasiphae could no longer hear her husband. She was lost to him.

The bull moved with a frenzied pace now so that our Queen-become-cow became more feverish with each thrust into her.

“More! More! Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh moo! Oh moo! Moo! Moo! MOO! MOO!!!” She pleaded.

“Moo, moo, moo, moo, moo, mooooooooo,” she screamed each cry piercing our ears. “Oh, by the Gods yes! My beauuuuutiful bull! Take me! Take me! MY BUUUUUULLLL!!!!! MOOOOOOOOOO!!!! MY BEAUUUUTIFUL BULL!!!!! BYYYY THHHHHEEE GODDDSSSS YEEEESSS! OOOOOHHHH YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!”

“OH! Oh yes! Yes! YES! Give me more, give me more, giiiiiive me mooooore! By the gods yes! Yes! YES! My bull, my bull, MY BUUUULL!!!!! MOOOOOOOOOO!!!! OH MY BEAUUUUTIFUL BULL!!!!! BY THE GODS YEEEESSS! OOOOOHHHH YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!! MOOooOOOOoooOOOooOOO!!!!!!”

At last she broke into a tidal wave of pleasure just as the bull spilled his, erupting in Pasiphae like a pent up geyser. A white froth like sea foam erupting from the bull, breaking against the shores of Pasiphae, and spraying from her spread legs like a volcano, erupting in bursts as she screamed yet again in pleasure. The Queen writhed about as her cry of release echooed throughout the entire land of Crete and beyond.

But the bull kept going. It’s seed was spent but its appetite was not. Pasiphae shrieked with disapproval and look back at her bull with mock admonition.

“Not again!” But she did not mean it by the looks of her knowing smile. Aphrodite must have been determined to coat Pasiphae’s womb with every last seed for the bull erupted again, spraying forth foam from Pasiphae far more than any woman could ever hope to hold. Pasiphae shook again with pleasure and this time the wave of her pleasure hit her so hard and it was so final that when it took her the world swirled about her and became a blur as her orgasm sent her crashing into the sweet embrace of unconsciousness. But not before she cried aloud those fatal words to her prize bull -

“I LOVE YOU!”

Chapter 7: A Cownundrum

When the Queen awoke she found her legs wet and slick, her limbs slack, and her body spent of all energy, but the look of satisfaction on her face was undeniable. She looked behind her and smiled weakly to let her bull know that she had survived their dangerous love making, but it was gone...having ambled away once it had finished with her. She had been nothing special to him, nothing more than another cow. Pasiphae’s smile vanished and I think that in her madness she had expected to find her lover standing concerned by her side, maybe nuzzling her as she awoke. But she alone.

Well not completely alone. The white bull may have abandoned the Queen of Crete but Minos remained as did the entire court.

Pasiphae’s sad, tired eyes came to rest on the empty throne where she should have been sitting. She looked at her husband, her eyes pleading for mercy.

“By the gods, do not look at me!” Minos said turning away from his wife.

Pasiphae tried to speak, but her voice was too hoarse. Not a sound came from it. She looked at Minos, begging him to look at her. Her eyes were filled with sadness and regret.

“You fucked a bull!”

The Queen shook her head vigorously, frantically, desperately trying to get her husband to look at her again.

“Torture me no more! You...you cow!”

Shocked, Pasiphae suddenly became very still. She looked at her husband questionely, pleadingly.

“No, I cannot! I will not!” Minos repeated. “Cow!”

“Moo!” Pasiphae shook her head at him accusingly. She had found her voice at last. “Moo-ooo!”

“This is all your doing. You stole the bull. You made the cow suit. And..and you fucked the bull. You fucked the bull, Pasiphae!” Minos roared.

“Moo.” Pasiphae whispered sadly, almost pleadingly.

“A BULL!”

Pasiphae’s head slumped forward, falling limp in her cow suit as tears began falling down her cheeks. Her bells jingled sadly with each silent cry.

No one made a sound.

”Someone...anyone remove my wi...remove her from that...that cow of hers. And take her...take her anywhere but just take her far away from me. I wish never to see the Que...that cow again!”

It was then that I ran from the scene of my evil doing. If I saw any more I knew I would go mad myself.

I wanted away from the market square and from Crete as fast as I could. I wanted to forget what I had just seen, I wanted to forget the image of a bull mating its Queen, I wanted to forget the sound of Pasiphae’s cries. But even as I ran the sounds followed me. I could hear the ringing of her royal breasts as the tears continued to fall from her cheeks. I heard Pasiphae sigh in relief as her maids freed her nipples at last from the cruel pinch of the bells. I heard her groan as the guards lifted her weary body from her splintered cow and carrying her away in shame, for all to see. And I heard her cry in anguish and those sobs that would not cease. Those sobs....!!!!

I know not what happened next for I left the city as quickly as I could and kept running until I made it to the docks and set sail, not stopping until the sea itself separated me from Crete and its mad Queen.

I got my wish - I returned to Athens, to the place of my birth but not a day goes by that I do not question my role in Pasiphae’s affair. When I arrived in Crete Minos and Pasiphae were happily married, respected and feared throughout the world, ruling in unison over the mightiest kingdom in the world. Theirs was a happy union, and their world was a strong, if not overly proud one. When I left...well I prefer not to think about it.

I can still see them when I dream - mating in the market square and it causes me great unease. I am not without blame after all. I could have refused the Queen her mad request. But then, the bull was stolen from a god and that theft occured in public. Someone had to pay and that burden fell to Pasiphae. Pasiphae was a Queen and for her punishment to fit her penance had to be made in public. It was a harsh punishment, but then Pasiphae was paying for the sins of an entire kingdom.

I have heard many tales regarding the ultimate fate of Crete and its ill-fated Queen since I have left. Some say the Queen to this day pines for her bull, others that she meets him at night, beneath the full moon, hoping to reenact that dreaded day in the market square, but unable to without the benefit of the cow costume I had built for her. A more popular tale says that the Queen birthed a monster just as Aphrodite had promised she would and that Minos put this creature in a giant labyrinth. Some even say he placed Pasiphae there too.

Personally I believe a less popular tale - this one tells that Minos eventually forgave his wife for her transgression and that in her shame the Queen never set foot outside of the palace walls again. Here, surrounded by opulence and free from matters of state, the Queen at last learned to hold her tongue, becoming pleasant and sweet. It is even said that Pasiphae became contented enough by her new surroundings to bless Minos with many an heir.

Why do I believe this seemingly less fantastic tale after all the horror I have seen? Is it because I want to believe in a happy ending? Hardly. This is no happy ending. For Pasiphae this fate is the most evil fate of all. She was a woman of unrivaled ambition and power, who lusted for nothing more than power. And Aphrodite turned that lust against her, turning it inside out so that Pasiphae was forced to confront the darkness within her soul. And when she did look inside of herself - when she saw the bull staring down at her with its dark, fathomless gaze - gone in an instant were all the pretentions to power and ambition. It was at that moment that Pasiphae knew what she wanted most in the world.

Aphrodite had made Pasiphae’s greatest fear reality - she had become a cow. By this I do not mean that the costume the Queen wore to her unholy mating made her a cow. After all, a costume can be discarded; but what Pasiphae had become while wearing that costume, what she had willing become, cannot so easily be discard. A monster in her womb Pasiphae could have born, of this I am certain, but to be turned into a cow...well that is another matter. The costume that I constructed for Pasiphae no more turned her into cow than her perfume and jewels had made her a lady. It was what was within the Queen, from the very beginning, that made her a cow - her costume only provided her the excuse.

True...I believe that Aprhodite’s curse remained upon Pasiphae and that it was caused her to find fulfillment in a bull. But I know this too - Aphrodite may have cursed Pasiphae’s mind to lust, but it did not to love. That was entirely Pasiphae’s own doing. And I saw it with my own eyes- Pasiphae, the Queen of Crete, had fallen in love - with a bull.

I pray the Gods have mercy on my soul.
