Fear played a role, too. Many fears, along with arrogance.
And these are the same folks who go on the national news in Texas and talk
smugly about 'indoctrination'...
And one expert: "Wrong, its just plain wrong..."
He obviously never saw the irony. Nor did the 'reporter' who listened and
never questioned him.
Not. Fucking. Once.
sighs... I shouldn't expect fairness, and I usually don't. But that
interview wasn't ever and should never have been seen as 'even handed
reporting'.

I don't honestly know but I admit I think the system is too quick to judge in
this case. It was a community, after all--and we'll never know the real
facts.
I'm in no position to judge, anyway. Did they do things I personally find
repugnant? Yes, based on we were told. But I don't buy into the knee jerk
reaction we saw--and the sentence imposed.
I think that is 'cruel and unusual punishment'.

shrugs...
I'm still wondering how they are going to prevent seals from attempting to
screw penguins. It's rather obviously 'a natural condition'--albeit rare.
It does do a good job of blowing hell out of the 'interspecies sex doesn't
occur in nature' argument though. And never mind what dolphins have been
caught doing and with what. If we humans only had their views... <g>
