G'day,
A lot really depends upon what it is you're doing. For example I'd never
want finished drinking a bottle of poison I'd picked up by mistake; or
eating something I found I didn't like the taste of. However, as a general
rule, it's a good thing to finish something that you started as it gives
you a feeling of accomplishment and completion, a sense of personal well
being. While an unfinished task will often leave you with a sense of
frustration. Also, there are many things that you'd hate to not finish -
like a good fuck, a nice desert, a nice cold drink on a hot day, a good
book or story.
There's also a difference between you choosing not to finish something and
it going not finished due to external factors. Life is full of things done
and not done and half done.
Now having given the philosophical bit, I hate long stories that end without
a clean cut off point. I can accept one where there's a clean cut off point
and opportunity for a sequel but not one left high and dry in the middle.
Unless it's still in the works with more due out soon.
Regarding the use of your nym - that's extremely rude to do without your
permission, but in a way a compliment too since they're either a fan or
think you have a huge fan base.
Regarding your later comment about Microsoft, don't worry, they're working
on us having Windows as everyones middle name.
