I think that's my point exactly. I have a lot of pieces that aren't done,
but those who keep asking me to "finish them" are doing so without taking
time to consider what they really want. I'm pretty sure I could finish them
all with a few sentences, but I know that isn't what they want at all. I
guess I'm whining about it but even though I have a lot of output, I can't
just turn it on and off like a faucet. I have to write what comes to me when
it comes to me, and if it takes a damned year from one chapter to the next
there doesn't seem to be a hell of a lot I can do about it.
I'd rather just leave the torn off end flapping than tack on a shitty ending
because I'm stuck for a while. I guess it just pisses me off every now and
then, so of course I came in here to stir up trouble.
Oh well, whatever the readers want they'll have to make do with what they
get instead of what they want. In fact, I think they have as much
responsibility or maybe even more than I do. Nobody's making them start
reading one before it's finished. Every piece at StoriesOnline is marked
plainly as "finished" or "in progress." If they want to read finished works
they can control that better than I can.
