When it comes to a story, I think it's better to finish them if you can.
Sometimes the inspiration runs dry or you run into a dead end - my sock
puppet has hit that a couple of times and I feel guilty when people
write in to say "I enjoyed XXXXX, are you going to continue?"
I'm very pushed for time at the moment, so my sock puppet's latest
series is a more-or-less self-contained set of stories linked by a
single character and 'universe' which I can drop or pick up at any time.

I think it's very bad form to mention another person either by name or
by implication without obtaining their permission. I hope my sock puppet
has behaved ethically in that respect.

Dentists seem to appear in sex stories quite frequently, getting a lot
of gratuitous exploitive sex. Perhaps dentistry is underrated.

There are probably more examples in favour than against (eg I wish
Microsoft would finish testing their software before releasing it), but
they're your stories and you can do with them as you please.
