Bent Toches of the EFF asks Dr. Kleine Schtupp a few questions about his
recent paper "Sexual Terrorism and the Information Revolution : The
Censor's Finest Kind"
Q: Doctor Schtupp, how long have you been living and working in the USA?
What has your work here shown you?
A: I was actually born to immigrant parents in Crabapple Cove, Maine. I
have an accent because I studied abroad during my childhood. I have had
a practice here since 1971. My clinic is in Georgia, and my research
still goes on, although I am retired. What have I seen? I have seen the
birth of the current mass hysteria gripping the people here, I have seen
the rise of the most self-blind society ever to live on the planet, and
in the name of 'freedom' I am seeing a proud, independent people
enslaved by greed and fear. It is just like that book by Orwell, 1984.
Everything is tied up in opposites.
Q: What is your academic background?
A: I finished my PhD in Human Sexuality and Modern Media at the
University of Kracow in 1969,
I have been practicing ever since. I must say that I in no way endorse
any of the media I study,
nor do I have any alignment with any specific sociopolitical stance. I
believe in freedom, I believe in the healthy
scientific climate that a free society has to offer. I was tempted to
leave the United States in the mid 1980's
to open a clinic in Europe - and then I realized that my work was
necessary. It is better to study the storm
from the eye of the hurricane.
Q: Why did you call this simple reframing of events already happening
all over the world,'Sexual Terrorism?'
A: Well quite honestly, two reasons. The first is just to get attention.
You can put the word 'terrorism' on your cantaloupe stand and you will
get a hundred times more attention. It's a word you can ride all the way
to the bank, as we see so many politicians and law enforcement officials
doing. Terrorism is a buzz word.The last terror attack on American soil
happened six years ago and yet people still live in daily fear. It was
seven years before that that anyone tried an attack. I hate to say it,
but that's our national attention span - so another attack of cowardly
violence is about due - to keep the people afraid. It will be timed for
the major elections. The main leashes on the voting animal here are of
course, sex and violence. Most Americans react the same way to both sex
and violence. The outcry over sexual acts and media is much more than
any other place in the world. The response to the outcry costs more to
manage too.
People in America "just don't feel safe" unless the sexual content
available through mass media and the internet are tightly
controlled by the authorities and the central government. In fact,
they complain more than anywhere else in the world.
A shooting gets one news story, a sex scandal - especially involving the
internet gets five or ten times as much coverage. It is incredibly
destabilizing to political power when people agitate and demand action
and resignations over sexual issues.
Sexual issues involving children have so much weight that any member of
the public can 'demand action' from the highest authority and
immediately be supported by millions of voters. The sensationalist press
allow a very dynamic interaction.
This is again, all market driven - these stories sell the most news.
"Senator X does nothing about child sex ring" is a perfectly viable
headline here. As despicable as some of the crimes I encounter can be -
that shouldn't be an excuse for
irrational hysteria and the abridgement of everybody's civil rights.
The same amount of money has to be spent on surveillance and censorship
of sexual media - the same man hours, the same resources that are also
used to stop drugs, munitions, bombs, other weapons - and the people
demand it ten times as much. Anyone who wants to cost billions can just
borrow a cheap digital camera from his friend and make home movies.
This sudden drain on resources represents a serious national security
threat, and one that is currently ignored.
Suppose someone was to use email or advertising technology to send
'unacceptable' media at the same time as other offensives or smuggling
operations? Suppose they used guerrilla warfare principles and flooded
feints and stopped to reduce staffing and then flooded again when
manpower was low again...
Q: Why call this 'terror' though?
A: The whole purpose of a terror attack is to create a mental climate.
It is to let people know that someone opposes something they are doing.
What people haven't realized yet is that sexual media, aimed at
everybody's 'dirty little secret' the secret fascination with boys and
girls, is much more effective than bombs or guns - and nonviolent - and
highly cost effective.
The way people react to this media is nothing short of terror. For some
reason to the modern American psyche, the photograph is more real than
the reality, than the act. Analysis of legal sentencing shows that a
person can get a very stern sentence for
raping a child, but will always get a much stiffer sentence for a
photograph of one. Even a person unknown to them, perhaps from decades
past, in a different country. The fear of this media is a palpable
thing.
Recently - people in authority have sexualized children so much that
even photographs of clothed children have become illegal in many parts
of the country. A few photographs of children playing on the beach can
generate enough social and political momentum to unseat a state senator.
The hardcore media can reach the whitehouse, affect foreign policy. It
is very expensive to try to censor the internet - even from random
events. A calculated barrage is unstoppable. Enough media of the right
type could even stop a war, as it would bring all primary concerns to
what is happening "at home."
I think if the photographs or videos in question are sufficiently
horrific, or involve a worldview which reveals a broader truth of human
needs and desires, that is sufficiently incompatible to the status quo
here that it would create a lot
of media attention.
If this media was somehow aimed, through email and other methods at the
right people - it could shut down all effective government unless the
climate of hysteria is lessened.
Someone saw a few digital movies of teenage girls performing oral sex
shot in Cuba and created a stir large enough that action was demanded by
the President himself. President Bush then threatened Fidel Castro in
public debate with the use of force, ie. a bombing and invasion of Cuba,
if he did not stop his 'child brothels' from operating.
Fidel Castro's response: "Control your own people Mr. President, all of
our customers are Americans!"
If the response to relatively tame media is to actually yank the chain
of the highest authority in the land,
who will the righteous demand action from if it is actually children
pictured? If there is real intercourse depicted?
The impact will be huge.
Q: You claim to have 'empirical proof' of this 'secret fascination' as
you call it...
A: The mass media is the most evident proof, current legislation and
it's reactive nature provides a documentation of fertile obsessions, and
in the laboratory - use of imagery and media along with case histories -
measurement of pupillary dilation, breath changes, erectile response -
can tell you - what people tell you affects them and what actually
provokes response are often two different things...
Q: What is the point of saying as you do on page eight "There really is
no hope..."
A: You can stop a bomb, you can stop a bullet. A sane society cannot
prevent the spread of ideas. If the fundament of a
society and their social interactions are based at all on lies and
misinformation about psychology, about human nature, about
anything - then they are actually doomed. A lie is a very fragile roof
over your head. A single truth, a single statistic
can bring your whole house down.
Q: Do you have a solution?
A: One solution is to accept the facts and move on. The point? To
conduct your lives with human dignity and respect for others
boundaries,not endorsing this approach of acting like 'rambo' or 'dirty
harry' with whoever catches your eye... the people who oppose the free
exchange of ideas are those with the most to hide.
No amount of crucifixions, no pogrom will ever change the facts of human
nature. There is great hubris in our age, we think that the latest set
of pop-psychological truisms and bourgeois supported trends can second
guess our genetic and biological imperatives - even to the point of
eugenics and euthanasia... Silly human race.
Q: What do you feel is the highest priority item... for people to know?
A: Events involving sexuality, children and the internet are the very
top of the list. Middle America's secret obsession with child sexuality
has become common knowledge all over the world. Media analysis, the
gigantic lists and registries of 'child sex offenders' who are almost
always babysitters, or illiterate parents kept under 24 hour
surveillance while actual mass murderers are allowed to roam
free...shows the schism - the split and less than sane behaviour. Even a
parent who is screaming, "protect
my children from being molested by a stranger" is simply advertising the
energies of his libido to the world. He is fantasizing
about a stranger and his kids. This stranger represent the shadow side
of his own attractions.
Statistically, his child is more than twice as likely to die in a
terrorist attack that be molested by a total stranger.
This is a very embarrassing thing to discover. Especially when someone
asks a psychologist, is it true?
This misinformed, confused energy elects world leaders.
Women understand the sexual attraction to children much better than men,
and sublimate it into energies of affection and nurturing. It is the
masculine curse that takes it to violence.
Q: What do you mean by "It takes one to know one: the zealot is the
pedophile."
A: You have to understand the thories of repression and denial to fully
grasp the thought, but there is a simple example.
People who have given up smoking, drugs or alcohol are often the loudest
and most forceful opponents
of whatever it is they have given up. With religious conversions this is
marked behaviour: "I used to be a sinner. Now I am not" As if that
purges them of whatever sin they have given up. As if they are somehow
better than the next person for having been worse and recovered.
When someone screams about the danger of "pedophiles" to draw everyones
attention to the issue, or brings the issue to voters above pressing
needs like global wars, the economy, homelessness, environmental
pollution, erosion of civil liberties, etc.
What they are doing is really telling everone what they like - what goes
on in their mind. They are casting about for like minds to share the
denial with - and obviously finding milions of them.
Eventually, like the lovely movie "American Beauty," violence is the
only alternative for the denial. When you are inherently false, all you
can do is try to destroy that which exposes you. I am afraid that modern
America will consume the world in a nuclear fireball of war and
destruction, just to avoid facing it's own psychological roots in the
sexuality towards children and same sex relationships. Violence is truly
the last place the denial can go. Once the so-called 'perversion' is
recognized the pain becomes too much for the afflicted personality.
To refer to "American Beauty" again - the psychology of the homicidal
crux of their relationship I would not be surprised if the murderer, the
homosexual neighbour, also committed suicide either instantly or
eventually - since what he was hiding from was essentially himself.
Q: What do you mean on page four when you say "We advertise our needs
through censorship..."
A: Well censorship is really like a roadmap to what appears to generate
energy in the mind. Why does a person
react to the word 'fuck' and not to the word 'duck' - well because they
can't stop themselves from thinking
of sexual intercourse when the former is used. A great example are a
community's sex laws.
These sex laws evolve over decades out of needs. Those communities with
the most rapists have the strictest rape laws,
those communities with the most demand for pornography have the
strictest media laws. I have used this simple principle to analyze the
genetic demographics of different communities and found a remarkable
saturation of pedophiles in certain
settled areas. Anglo-saxons and Scandinavians. While research indicates
the tendency is in all human populations, this demographic is apparently
most dramatically engaged in the mutual self-destruction of reactive
violence to internal activity.
Psychological analysis of court documents and both successful and failed
legislative attempts reveals this. The failed attempts
are the best barometer because they represent the internal thrust
against self-preceived immorality. Immoral behaviour must be recognized
within to be described without. Moral legislation is not, as so many
believe the actual measure of 'right and wrong' merely of the opinions
of the majority in a community and their attempts to enforce those
beliefs on everybody.
Q: Why does so much of this media you discuss come from Eastern Europe
and around Russia. Is it an attack on America?
A: No I am afraid that is not the case, the truth is much sadder. These
people did not know America's secret weakness when all of this started.
It is a socieconomic relationship. During and after the cold war, our
economic warfare and competitive military budget made many so poor that
many had to sell the last commodity available just to survive. Tourists
and thrill seekers from the prosperous West always kept up a brisk
demand for sexualized children. You will find the epicenters of child
pornography along with deaths by starvation and huge unemployment
statistics in the exact same areas our economic and trade sanctions
crippled for decades.
Q: You say that what we see now is only 'research,' what do you mean by
that?
A: The apparent 'pornographers' are using a unique method to develop
their markets now, however. They are creating numbered sets of different
acts and different ages. These 'sets' are then distributed across
servers in different parts of the world. Then after a period of time the
same sets are downloaded from those same areas in which they were
distributed.
'The powers that be' have a policy of allowing some images and films
through because blanket censorship creates both a stark demand as well
as local production and and escalation of real world crimes. The media
in many ways functions as a safety valve for desires which can often be
rather ugly. As time goes on, analysis of which media has been allowed
through varies widely from area to area, region to region.
The images which are censored are a direct measure of which ones have
the greates prurient effect of the community
in which the servers are based. Then they can focus on producing what
the consumers there have the greatest demand for.
What is censored tells them exactly what the people will PAY FOR.
This is perfect market research - region by region. In most of the
United states, for example,
if discussions in scientific circles all over the United States are to
be believed, the images which are censored involve certain positions,
and levels of contact. What makes an anus attractive in one position and
acceptable in another?
What strange demon flies out to tell the censor that a nine year old
girl with a penis in her mouth is acceptable,
but an eight year old in the same type of set is not? Any anal contact
with the broadest range of ages is summarily removed,
this is the hard and fast rule. The oral personalities appear to exhibit
the most aggressive hostile proselytism, defining themselves by what
they despise, the anally fixated seem the most self-serving obsessive
compulsive and they remain unaware of the dynamic of sexual censorship.
This censorship is so swift severe that the original sets are often
renumbered and reissued locally with all offensive media removed. Like
the proverbial minutemen, they repackage, add secret tagging
information, and redistribute the same images.
Q: What defines offensive media?
A: Actually, you do. The administrators and their directors in any given
area are remarkably attuned to their constituencies.
In one test set that came through the laboratory recently, the original
set was retrieved from servers in Belarus, and comparators taken from
the Southwestern United States - the images removed were all toddlers
and pre-teens, posterior views with the anogenital region exposed - this
indicates that those types of images are the most valued. Also images -
mostly
of the posterior with lipstick marks, teeth marks, liquid sheen, fluids
resembling secretions, and marks from forms of
minor physical abuse like flagellation. Comparisons and further
conclusions are many, including the obvious fact
that our ignorance of nascent sexuality has us unaware that we are
creating a host of deep behaviours during toilet training.
Q: You say you have had difficulties publishing your statistics in any
mainstream journals...
A: It has been drawn to my attention, often angrily, with personally
insulting emails and strong language, that our research is illegal.
Scientific and statistical analysis of freely available, publically
hosted media, illegal?
If my history serves me correctly, I believe that Hitler had much the
same attitude.
What are all these people trying to hide?
What we call by one name, "pedophilia" is actually a rainbow of
behaviour. It is almost as varied as the rest of human sexuality.
Attractions are rigidly striated by ages, sometimes in strata as narrow
as a single year.
Evidently there are many who want a single label, a single name for all
behaviours so that they can go on with whatever personal flavour their
denial takes. Perhaps we should give them a single word for all human
sexuality and just say 'pervert'
Then they can run around and burn all the perverts at the stake and get
on with their glorious homogenized false normalcy.
Q: Let me quote from page seven :" It is very possible that a
combination of early childhood taboos, harsh humourless toilet training,
enforced xenophobia, and a collective denial of both childhood and basic
human sexuality yields a bumper harvest of a personality type ideally
suited to fascist and bellicose government." What does this mean?
A: It is a combination of the theories of Dr. Wilhelm Reich, and my own.
It's a short description of how our energies are controlled by 'family
values' entertainment - which actually writes society. People don't
grasp how malleable society really is and how human interactions are
thoroughly shaped by supposedly 'entertainment media'
The information age will eventually not allow government by censorship
to function anymore. In this media environment, the censors become a
sort of fundamentalist, government endorsed priesthood dictating
allowable thoughts to the masses. For some reason one finds this mindset
of a rigidly legislated sociosexual normalcy is a pre-requisite for an
aggressive war driven economy, from Sparta til the present.
Q: What are your fears?
A: I fear that people the world over will say 'it is far away' 'it is
the internet, thus it does not affect me'
The internet IS America. The traffic on the internet IS the American
people. Statistics allow real study, rhetoric merely inflames passions
for better or for worse.
I fear the death of human freedom. I fear for the free thinker. I fear
for the free spirit. For all the talk of freedom, freedoms are eroding
more rapidly here than anywhere. If the founding fathers of this great
nation were alive today they
would resurrect states rights, and I am afraid they would be forced to
use violence to disrupt the stranglehold that business and industry
have on the government. Unregulated corporations are inventing new
morals and resurrecting old ones just so that communities tear each
other apart from the inside.
The budgets for weapons development for domestic policing and crowd
control are larger than the allocation for weapons development for the
air force. Apparently the government is getting ready to suppress a lot
of dissidents. This is a great folly considering how many potential
enemies are still outside America's borders. Perhaps we will have an
orderly, disciplined populace and foreign leadership. I suggest that we
return to the original motto of the United States and
"Mind our own business."
