<story snipped>

Well, if you are wanting to generate comments, posting a story in a
*discussion* group (that's what the "d" stands for) is a good way to do
it. Unfortunately, you are unlikely to generate many good comments or
to win new readers. Most regulars in here will see that it's a story
and delete it unread. Some people may question your intelligence in
posting a story in a discussion group, especially if they feel as bad
as I do at the moment. However, I promised myself I'd be nice and be
helpful tonight, so I'm trying to do that.

Occasionally a story by one of the regulars will appear here, but it's
always for a specific reason (Kenny Gamera's "Officer Sherry" responses
to a couple of Girl Scout Nookie stories, for example) and doesn't
happen often. That is tolerated as long as it (1) is short, and (2)
isn't overdone. Another example is a very short story or an excerpt
for which the author wants specific guidance.

If you aren't sure, then it shouldn't be posted here, but in ASSM.

If you had posted this story to ASSM (alt.sex.stories.moderated) either
directly or by e-mailing it to story-submit@asstr.org (the latter being
the recommended method), the moderators would have approved it for
posting to the ASSM group. You are far more likely to garner readers
and favorable responses there. All posted responses will show up in
this group. E-mail, of course, would go directly to you.

And speaking of e-mail, it's probably too late now, but I would
recommend munging your e-mail address unless you want a ton of spam
delivered to your Inbox. There's a major influx of German spam
flooding the moderation center at the moment, and copies of that are
also appearing at my (unmunged) posting address.

Munging means something like "StrangeXsub@yahoo.com" and instructions
for the reader to leave out the "X" when replying. That will keep the
spam robots from getting you on their lists immediately. They'll get
you sooner or later, but why help them?

I hope this helps. Good luck, and keep writing.
