forbidden were the gentiles and pubic hair, a line obscuring the vaginal
slit, and a line covering the base of the glans are satisfactory
censorship. And in one manga I read the male lead had a white
silhouette of a penis. Other visual circumlocutions have been done
also, but none close to the big black dots that American censors used.
