Chapter 6

When he woke up the next morning, Inuyasha was still curled up to Sesshomaru's chest with the youkai still holding him close. Honestly, he didn't know what to make of it.

Sesshomaru felt the hanyou start to stir and looked down at him, "I was wondering when you would wake." He said soft.

Although he knew he needed to get up and move he didn't want to. Somehow it felt good to be held like this and hearing the loud thunder of his half-brother's heartbeat in his chest was comforting. For the first time in so many years he felt safe.

Running his claws through Inuyasha's once again silver hair, the youkai smiled slightly, sensing his reluctance to pull away from him. Good. That would definitely aid him later on. "You can stay like this as long as you wish but don't you have to go meet your miko soon?"

Grunting softly, Inuyasha then sighed, "Yeah." Even though he knew he had to go meet Kagome he was still reluctant to break away from Sesshomaru's body

Nor did his brother break the hold on him. It would be the hanyou who would make the break, not him.

Reluctantly, after about an hour Inuyasha finally made a move to get up. He had to meet Kagome. Both he and Sesshomaru took a bath in the lake together then, when they were done, Sesshomaru walked him to the well. Before leaving him, the youkai looked at him, "A little bit of advice from me Inuyasha, give up your necrophilic obsession with the dead miko. Your miko, Kagome, cares deeply for you. She has shown honor and has stuck by you through everything. It's her that would make you a suitable mate, not the other."

Confused, the hanyou looked at him. He was remembering the youkai's words from the night before, about belonging to him. But before he could ask about it he was pulled into another breath stealing kiss and embrace.

After breaking off the kiss Sesshomaru whispered hotly in his ear, "If you want more all you need to is find me little brother. I'll give you all want." Giving him a smoldering look he then turned and disappeared into the trees.

Licking his lips, Inuyasha watched his brother vanish. Plopping down, he rested his back against the weathered planks, thinking and waiting, one confused hanyou.

About an hour later he was jarred back to reality by the tell-tale energy of the time rift as someone passed through it. Then, a couple minutes later, Kagome's ugly pack dropped down by him. Hopping to his feet, he helped her with the rest of her things then out of the well.

When her feet hit the ground she smiled at him and rubbed his ears in an affectionate way. "Did you miss me?" She asked, teasing, waiting for his usual denial.

Grabbing her pack, he slung it over his shoulder then looked at her and smiled, "Yeah. I did." Reaching out, he took her hand and started to walk towards the village.

Standing there, mouth hanging open, she stared at him. After a tug on her hand she followed, stunned speechless.

He pulled her closer to him and slipped his arm around her waist. "Tonight, after we all get settled in I want to spend some time alone together. There are some things I need to talk to you about." He said softly.

Her mouth was agape but she kept up, stunned. For the first time she felt this 'talk' would be a good thing, not like some they had in the past.

From a perch in a tree, Sesshomaru watched them, eyes gleaming, a smile turning up the corners of his mouth. That went quite well, better than he thought it would. Now all he had to do was wait…
