Back at camp, Inuyasha herd her cries of pain and did the opposite of what he normally would do, he grinned from ear to ear.
Any other time he would have run to her rescue but this time he didn’t, knowing full well the cause of it. Kagome was now mated.
Settling into the tree branch he was perched on, a broad grin crossed his face. Sure, part of it was from the fact that now Kagome wouldn’t ever be able to leave them. But it also gave him a chance to make up to her everything he had done.
Kagome now had two mates. As he well knew it wasn’t all that unheard of for her to take on a 3rd one later on down the line. Now all he had to do was prove himself to her and her mates. There was no doubt that he could and would change! He had learned his lesson and would prove he was worthy of being her mate.
Closing his eyes, he began to plan how he was going to go about it.
