Crossing the Rainbow Bridge
By Danyealle ( M/F, Rom, Reincarnation )
Smiling and at peace, she crossed the rainbow bridge, feeling excitement building in her chest like a butterflies wings loose inside her. Taking one last look over her shoulder, she saw her still form lying on the bed, peaceful and at rest. She sighed deeply then turned around and walked the rest of the way across the bridge without looking back again. From all she had learned by practicing her craft, she knew this wasn't the end of the journey, but the beginnings of a whole new one. Opening the door at the end of the bridge, she walked through it into Summerlands.
As she had learned on Earth, it was a beautiful place. Like a lush green, peaceful valley where the sun shone brightly. Sitting around here and there were other Wiccans, some sitting peacefully under trees quietly pondering something, others in groups talking softly to each other. Peace descended on her and filled her whole being with a happiness she had never known on earth. Instantly the memories of all her past lives re-emerged from a gentle wave inside her. Tears of happiness and joy streamed down her face as she realized she was home, finally.
Her journey had once again made a full circle. It was an emotional time for any Wiccan when they finally came back, filled with sorrow for those they left behind and joy knowing they would again meet with those that had crossed before them. Looking around she saw a tall woman with fiery red hair walking towards her. Instantly she recognized her, it was her mother, the woman that had helped her down her path in the last lifetime. Without a word her mother drew her into her arms and held her. Holding her tightly, Sinthyia sobbed softly on her mothers shoulder. Not out of sadness but of joy at finally seeing her again.
Breaking off the hug, Ophelia held her daughter at arm's length, smiling, her green eyes dancing brightly. No longer did they need words to say what they felt, it was just there. After spending time together Sinthyia found a spot that pleased her and she sat down, leaning back against a tree in the cooling shade. Shutting her eyes she thought back through the life she had just led and compared it to former ones, taking from them the lessons she had learned and analyzing them. Time as earth and its inhabitants knew it didn't exist in Summerlands; it was just one long, beautiful summer day stretching out for all eternity. In what would have been a couple years on earth she recalled what she learned and what they meant.
After she was done she quietly pondered her next step, whether she wanted a rest for a while or to return once again to earth in another incarnation. As she mulled it over her mind wandered to Adair and a soft smile curved up the corners of her mouth. He was her soul mate. Somehow or other they had been connected in each of their past incarnations. At one time or another they had always encountered each other as their life cycles ran their course. Sometimes they only spent a short time in each others company but more often than not they stayed with each other, walking life's path together, side by side. The recollection of the last life was clearest to her so that is where her mind went to. Remembering back to their first encounter.
Early in the 21st century they had run into each other on the campus of the university they both attended. They had bumped into each other while in the student union eating their lunch. Instantly there was a spark between them that ignited and it drew them together. He was one of the jocks, on both the football and basketball teams. A scholarship he had earned allowed him to follow his life's passion for computers. She was studying psychology with an emphasis on cults. As the days blissfully spun by they became closer and closer until it seemed they were joined at the hip.
Graduating first, he went on to work for a computer company while she worked on her Masters degree. It wasn't until she was done with school and working that they tied the knot. In a Wiccan ceremony they were bonded together. The night of their honeymoon was the happiest she could ever remember. In their honeymoon suite the lights had been turned off and hundreds of candles lit, giving the room a warm and romantic glow. Slowly, they danced to some soft music together. Before long they were kissing each other deeply and pressing their bodies tightly together. With exaggerated slowness, he undid all the pearl buttons on the back of her dress. Stepping out of it, she draped over a chair so it wouldn't get dirty. Between passionate kisses they slowly divested themselves of their clothes, tossing them into a careless pile.
Once they were both nude he picked her up. Cradling her close to his chest, he carried her to the bed and gently laid her on it. Crawling between her legs, he leaned over and kissed her gently but with passion. Wrapping her arms around his neck she drew him down to her, holding tightly to him as their lips devoured each other. Both were covered with a fine sheen of sweat that glistened in the candle light. Grabbing his member, he rubbed it against her opening, wetting the head of it before slowly sliding inside.
With a groan muffled by his mouth, she arched up, feeling him slide deep into her. A stab of lust drove sharply throughout her body and seemed to ignite it. As the delicious feeling of him sliding into her washed over her body a deep throb started in her lower abdomen, pulsing madly.
They had made love many times before so he knew her body and wants well. Slowly, he slid in and out of her, while they kissed. Reaching down, he softly rubbed her clit the way she had taught him, rubbing the underside of it slowly from side to side.
A quiver ran through her body, making her want grow. Bucking up against him, she thrust her tongue into his mouth and entwined with his. Her nerves seemed to ignite and spread a heat throughout her body like a wildfire, setting everything alight. Digging her nails into his shoulders, she thrust onto him trying to get him in deeper. A tingling seemed to spread outwards from her crotch with each of his thrusts.
Panting heavily, he thrust harder and faster, his own want and need soaring high. Animalistically, his mouth locked with hers, tongues dancing. Rubbing harder on the sensitive little bud of her clit he could feel it quivering like it always did before an orgasm. He held onto his own until that quiver turned into a deep throb and she arched off the bed, crying out his name. Then he let himself go, flooding her insides.
Afterwards, they lay entwined on the bed, stroking each other softly. Falling asleep, they held onto each other like they would for the rest of the time they were together.
As she though she could see clearly his lanky 6'5" frame, the shock of black hair that always seemed tousled and unruly. Those baby blue eyes danced like they always did. They had been such a contrast with her being barely five foot tall with a light blonde hair and deep brown eyes. They looked so differently but inside they were connected for all eternity, soul mates.
She had lost him when he was 52, heart attack. After that she spent the rest of her life pining for him. Being Wiccan she knew she would see him again when she crossed over, that is what sustained her for the rest of her life.
Opening her eyes, she smiled. In her heart she knew he had already passed back to earth to begin his next life cycle. That is when she made her decision. Saying goodbye to those she knew she walked back to the bridge. With shoulders squared she stepped on it and began the next journey. Adair awaited her and she didn't feel complete without his presence. For that she would go back.
