'Avatars' - A New Work In Progress
---

I tried, neighbors.

Really.

I got myself down to 14 items in the hopper, when I gave up, and added
a new one.

'Avatars' is the story of what hapened when Jessica, Roberta, and all
the others finally moved to Rabelaisia, to take up their duties.

It takes place about one hundred years after the events chronicled in
'Marie's Solstice' and 'Pier and Park'.

The 'second team' is up to strength.  All ten members are experienced,
and know what they might face.

Roberta has, decades earlier, met her Rabelaisian mate, and they have
an adult child, who corresponds to Lady Chrystal's and Merlin's son,
Chryslin.

Liberty-Anne and Weylin have children, too, and their firstborn
daughter has been selected to be another Avatar, who corresponds to
Chryslin's mate, the Rabelaisian Vixen, Arleta.

Jessica and the twins have adopted a Rabelaisian Hare, who is male,
mortal and corresponds to Jessica's adopted sister, Indrakshi.

Not unexpectedly, their plans for a meeting with the media, and a
welcome by the Reabelaisian dignitaries, followed by a quiet dispersal
so they can get to know their new home, and the people who inhabit
it...

Are disrupted.

Hopefully, since I am deliberately planning this one, it will get
completed in a reasonable amount of time.

Working Notes:

Delliberately make Avatars a collection of 1,000 to 2,000 word
chapters, for eReader compatibility.

It wasn't planned that way, other than keeping the chapters to that
length.

The length is a return to my roots because most of my early work was
in that range when posted.

Avatars 13:
Huoysen and Tralker will be commanded by Roberta to create a 'Hero's
Hall' in a remote part of Rabelaisia, and their guilds will provide
the guards and caretakers who will protect and maintain it.

Tralker will have his body preserved and put on display as
Rabelaisia's 'First True Hero'.

"Here lies Rabelaisia's 'First True Hero', Tralker, a Wolf who gave
his Honor in the Service of His World.  Let any of you who would be
Heroes, remember this, and be prepared to sacrifice your own Honor,
should the Honor of our world require it."
