This was originally intended to be nothing more than the setup and intro to a much longer work that for now, has been set aside in favor of other projects. I honestly don't know if I'll ever do more with it. I could, easily, but there are more important things going on in my life, than writing this particular type of fantasy. ----- Dog Days at Valley High ----- "Randall." "Yes, Ma'am?" "You've been selected to take part in The Program next month." She frowned slightly. "There has been talk about you. Rumors." She paused as if marshaling her thoughts, then... "You could ask to be exempted. Nobody needs to know why." The teenaged boy blushed and looked away. His voice was trembling and barely audible when he replied. "I don't want to be exempted." He looked up and his smile was barely there, but it was a smile. "Kathy will need an exemption, though, so she can come on campus." The woman stared, speechless. Randy hadn't denied the rumors and even turned down an exemption. Now, she was stuck, and had to decide. But, first... "Kathy? Who's Kathy?" Randy's voice became stronger, and there were tones in it she didn't want to hear. "She's my bitch. My lover." And she knew the rumors were true. "So you really are a bestialist?" He looked pained. In fact he winced and it was clear he was making a special effort to hold back what he really wanted to say. Instead, he took a deep breath, let it out slowly and looked away. "I'm not just a bestialist. I'm a zoosexual." "You love her, too? You are a zoophile?" Now, he turned to face her. There was anger in his eyes when he faced her defiantly. "I screw girls, too. That's why I don't want the exemption. Because of people like you. Because even though my friends know the difference and they tease me about it, they *know* that I'm not just a bestialist, or can be labeled a 'zoophile'. It's wrong!" "Besides..." He was crying. "We talked it over a long time ago. Not just my friends. My parents. The specialist they took me to. Our friends who are like us." He got himself back under control, looked up, and there was something strangely mature in his eyes and posture. He wasn't just 'Randy the teenager' any more. She was, for the first time, getting a good look at the man he was becoming--and that man was someone who took her by surprise because there had been no hint of his maturity in any of the records she had available to her. He was a leader, one fully aware of what he was. She had the feeling he was just as aware of his responsibilities. "Someone has to be first. We all knew it could be me and I agreed to do the job as well as I could if I happened to get the chance. Don't deny us the chance to let people get to know us, the real people we are." She sighed. "I could make the exemption anyway. You have to know that. You must know I wouldn't have called you to my office unless I was considering it." He nodded. "Mom said to tell you we'd be in front of the 'nine old men and women' within a week if you did." He looked away. "She also told me to ask you if you really want to face her there, again, so soon." He blushed again and looked back. "I know my mom. She doesn't threaten. She promises. I've already talked to some of them and know they want to handle anything related to The Program quickly enough that the kids involved see justice while it means something, not years later. I have permission to give you the special number so you can call them." He waited for a few seconds then went on softly. "I don't want to be first and I don't think you want to go through it again. Do you want me to beg for this chance? I will." He got out of his chair and went to his knees, then spoke one word, with a simple dignity that pulled at her. "Please." "Get up, Randy. There's no need to beg," She waited, then sighed. "Since it looks like Valley High is going to be first, again, it behooves *us* to get it right this time, doesn't it?" Randy was confused. "Us, Ma'am?" She nodded. "I think what you do is wrong, morally and ethically. I won't deny that. But..." She held out her hands and studied them intently while she went on softly. "I've been wrong once already. If I'm wrong again, I could destroy thousands of lives, including yours. Since you're obviously willing to do this even if I object, I'm not going to fight you, or..." She looked up and smiled lopsidedly. "I'm selfish enough to admit I like my job, and this town. If I face your mother again, no matter what happens, I'd have to give it all up." Then, briskly, "Well, Randy, shall we see what we can do to make sure you get a fair hearing next month?" Randy gaped in shock, then recovered. "Yes, Ma'am." "Good." She held out her hand and Randy took it gingerly. He wasn't sure if what he was seeing was a victory or a strategic retreat, but he'd take any ground gained and do his best to hold on to it later. She nodded, acknowledging his uncertainty, then settled back in her chair. "It sounds as if all of you have done a lot of planning for this chance." He stayed forward on his chair. "Yes, we have. We didn't know who would be first, but with mom being out for years, nobody really thought I wouldn't be the most likely one to follow in her footsteps once we were certain I really am a zoosexual. When The Program went into effect, the planning got more intense." He finally shrugged. "I'm not going to name names, but a few of us have already gone through the program without admitting what they really are." He smiled bitterly. "Don't try to find them based on pet ownership or who I run with. Most of us don't have pets of our own at home and we aren't all good friends with each other. None of us who have gone through so far, had their own animals. If they had, I don't think you'd be asking if I wanted an exemption." She leaned forward and studied him. "To be fair, I'd like to add a girl who's like you." "Anyone I suggest will get considered?" She nodded. He looked away and blushed. "She would have outed us both if she'd been here, but it still scares me. Mom said it would but I thought she was kidding about the pain." "Randall? I can't promise there won't be repercussions. All I can tell you is that they won't come from me." He shivered. "Yeah. They'll be my fault. She wants to do it though. I think she's crazy but..." He kept his eyes averted and sighed. Then, shivering, he whispered a name: "Elizabeth." "I need a last name." Randy took a deep breath, then faced her directly. "Montgomory." She froze. "*My* Elizabeth?!"... He nodded. "Where did I go wrong? What have you done to her? She can't be!" Randy got angry. "I did *nothing*! She was like that before we met. Beth had no idea I'm a zoo, and *I* didn't know about *her*--when mom introduced us to each other!" He cooled down a little. "Look, talk to my mom. You didn't do anything wrong, it just happens for some of us." He sighed. "It's like being gay or lez or whatever. It feels right somehow when it happens, and you know. That's all." He chuckled a little. "Beth is het. She does it with me, too." She winced, then waved her hand at the door. "Go tell Beth I need to see her. Alone, this time, before the two of you go home together." *That*, Randy knew, was a clear victory for his side, in a place he'd hoped he'd get one--someday. * * * He pulled Beth aside before they entered the classroom. "I got tapped for next month. Your mom offered me an exemption." She laughed, then turned serious. "What did she do when you turned it down?" He sighed and pulled her into a quick hug before he whispered in her ear. "She asked if I knew of a girl who wanted to be there at the same time. I 'm pretty sure we're in, and she wants to talk to you alone before we go home together after school." She gasped, drawing a few sniggers from their classmates. "How'd she take it?" He winced at his memories. "She blew up, blamed me, I got mad at her and then she told me to tell you she wants to see you as she threw me out of her office." He hugged her again. "Beth, I know you're ok with it, but outing you to your mom still hurts. You should have been there, too." "Maybe." She pushed away until they could hold hands. "I think your mom is right. She needs time to think about it before we see each other. Did you tell her to call yours?" "Yeah. I did." "Good. Next break I'll call your mom and ask her to call mine." They hugged again. Beth was shivering, but she was able to whisper a quick 'Three years, then we can be together for the rest of our lives, right?" Randy sighed morosely. "Yeah." Then he grinned at her, unable to keep his sense of humor suppressed. "I'm gonna enjoy seeing the looks on people's faces when the two of us offer to let people watch." Beth giggled. * * * Randy winced when they got to the office after school. Mrs. Montgomory's face was unreadable when she greeted him politely. "Randall, please wait until I've finished with Elizabeth. OK?" What could he do? "Yes, Ma'am. I'll wait." "Good. This shouldn't take long, and then we'll go see your parents. Arthur is already there, waiting for us." Her lips twitched slightly. "You and Beth can walk home if you like. I think you'll both have some things you need to talk about." She stepped back and gestured Beth into her office. 'Whew!' Randy didn't have a clue, but Beth's mom was obviously planning something. At least it sounded like he and Beth could still see each other. That would help. A few minutes later he heard raised voices, then it suddenly got quiet. Shortly after that the door opened and Beth stepped through it with her head held high. He recognized that look and kept his mouth shut, opting to grab their books and hold the outer door open before she ran into it. Once they were off campus he broke the silence. "So what happened in there?" She dodged. "Mom asked me how serious I was about someday marrying an animal fucker, especially if I was going to keep letting dogs screw me anyway and he was probably going to keep fucking bitches. Didn't the marriage vows mean anything to me, or you?" "Jeez... Was that when things blew up? I heard you yelling at each other. Couldn't tell what you were saying but you both sounded pretty angry." She blushed and grabbed his arm to stop him. "No. I blew up when she told me the justice of the peace is waiting at your house. Our parents talked it over and decided that if we're that serious, we might as well get married now. It was *my* mother who suggested we should do it now, because spouses can't be forced to testify against each other." "Shit!" He turned to face her, and his anger was evident. "Next month the whole damn school and town is going to know about us, and we're going to be screwing the dogs in front of people and *she* is worried about us testifying against each other?!" He shook his head in disbelief. "Beth, that's nuts!" Beth shook him gently. "You don't get it, do you? Mom's upset, angry and lots of other things, but she wants what's best for us." She pulled him into a fierce hug. "Randy! We won! She and dad are *insisting* that we get married--if that's what we really want." He automatically hugged her. "Oh. Yeah. I guess you're right." He pulled away slightly. "Beth? I know we've always talked about it, but you've heard my mom and dad talk about everything they've gone through together. Do you really want to do it?" She touched his face. "I'm scared. But you know what? We're both zoos. Your dad isn't one." He grabbed her hand and pressed it against his cheek. "Yeah. I'm scared bigtime, you know?" He shuddered and then watched her face. "Elizabeth Anne Montgomory. Will you marry me? Tonight?" He felt her shaking as she fought her emotions. "Yes, Randy. I'll marry you. Tonight. For better or for worse..." She couldn't hold it in and she giggled. "As long as we can have our dogs with us during the honeymoon and forever after." He laughed with relief. "OK. Let's go see about a surprise wedding." They leaned together and shared a deep kiss. Then, reluctantly, they pulled away from each other and started walking again. "Beth? I don't get it. Your mom blew up when I outed you, and less than eight hours later she's insisting we get married?" "Umm... Randy?" "Yeah? "There was a lot more." "I figured that out. You gonna tell me?" "Guess I should, huh?" "Be nice if you did, yeah." "She asked me what I'd do if she stopped me from seeing you and made me get cured." "Cured? You don't have the problem, she does. So is that why you yelled at each other?" "A little." "Sounded pretty serious." "Yeah... Well, I threatened to divorce them. Told her I'd already left the filled out forms with your mom, along with the therapist's evaluation we had done a couple months ago." "Ouch. I didn't know you'd filled out those forms. When did you do that?" "Right after I outed to your mother. I was scared, and needed to know I had somewhere to run to." "Oh. Would you have done it? Filed them, I mean?" She sighed. "Your mom talked me out of it. I wanted to run away but she convinced me to tough it out as long as I could." She stopped walking and turned him to face her. "I'd hate myself for it. But, I'd file them. That part of me isn't going to change. I kinda hoped I'd grow out of it. Might have, until we met. Guess I'm selfish. I want all of it. Toby. You." He sighed. "Same here, I guess. I know I can't leave Kathy for anyone, not even you. Mom and dad have had me tested so much I think I could answer the questions in my sleep. I'm in love with Kathy. I feel the same way about you. That isn't going to change. I've tried to stop my feelings for Kathy. I can't. You already know that." She sighed and started walking again. "Would have been nice to choose, huh?" He took a deep breath and let it out, then walked in silence for awhile. His house was in sight and they could see the cars parked everywhere. "Mom set us up when she introduced us to each other, didn't she?" "Yes. You wanna back out? Still can." He shook his head sadly. "Nahh. We gotta start making choices someday. Might as well be today. Guess we aren't gonna be innocent kids any more, are we?" She choked back her bitter laughter. "The son of a high priced attorney and the daughter of a school social counselor. Were we ever innocent?" "Yeah. Ever wonder what it's like? Hey, Beth?" "What?" "Where do you want to go for our wedding night? My bedroom? The guest bedroom?" "You're bad." "Yep." "Randy?" "Yeah?" "The weather's nice. Let's grab a couple blankets and spend our wedding night in the back yard with Toby and Kathy." "Deal." Randy stopped suddenly and grabbed Beth's arm. "Remember what I said about next month?" "Yes. So?" "So, we're gonna be doing it in front of strangers, right? What if your mom walks in while we're doing it with one of the dogs? She could, you know." "Oh. Shit. She'd go ballistic, wouldn't she?" "I don't know. She's sorta ok with it right now, isn't she? She wants us to get married and she knows we aren't going to be faithful to each other." She nodded. "Remember your fantasy? The one about fucking Toby and she walks in, smiles and says 'No big deal'?" "Yeah. Be nice wouldn't it? At least your mom is cool with it." "True, but she's special. Thing is, remember some of those wedding rituals we've studied while we were looking for the one we wanted to use someday? The one where the parents stay with the couple to confirm that they've 'consummated their vows'? What if we do that tonight? Invite our parents to watch?" He sighed... "It's not like somebody isn't going to have a cell phone with a cam or something and record us and put it on the net anyway..." She shivered. "I've been trying to ignore that possibility." "Yeah. Me, too. And we've never done it in front of strangers, only my parents and our close friends..." Embarrassed, and wondering if he'd gone too far, he let his voice trail off into an awkward silence. Beth finally shook herself and laughed maliciously. "C'mon. She embarrassed the shit out of us, let's embarrass her back. OK?" She suddenly giggled. "Be a hoot if I wore a dog collar so she could check its fit to see if I'd orgasmed or not." He laughed. "C'mon, Beth. The way you flail around? She's gonna know." She blushed and lightly punched his arm. "Well, you guys have it easy. It sounds like you're dying most of the time. Last gasp." "Huh. You've said that before." "It's true. Might as well be dying. It was all I could do to get you off of me so I could breathe again." "Hey! That only happened once! I've let you be on top ever since." She sniggered. "Only because you found out you like fucking me at the same time Toby does." "C'mon, Beth. That's self protection. How was I to know he didn't care who he screwed, as long as he screwed something? I'm not into that gay stuff with anyone." She stopped and hugged him. "I know. I'm still scared. We gotta do the marriage stuff to keep everyone happy, but we don't need it, do we?" He pulled her closer and hungrily sought her lips. They held the kiss for a long time before they pushed each other away slightly. He watched her eyes again. "Yeah, Beth. We don't need it. Doesn't matter to the dogs, does it? But I guess there's a lot of good reasons why we should get married before next month." She gazed at him for a long time, then nodded slowly. "You think they'll let us choose the ceremony we use?" "Maybe." Then he grinned. "You think my mom would take us seriously if we said we'd call it off if we couldn't?" She shook her head. "She wouldn't, but the JoP would. You know how serious normals are about this thing called 'informed consent'." He sighed. "Yeah. I wasn't serious anyway. But I'm gonna insist the dogs be there. We'll know the real reason they're with us. Right?" She smiled. "Yeah, and I bet they're going to be pretty obvious, too. I want to see mom and dad's faces when Toby shows lipstick." He chuckled. "Beth, that's cruel." She shrugged as she let go of the hug. "You're right. Mom said some things to me..." He stared at her. "What things? What'd she say to hurt you that much?" She touched his lips with a finger. "Not a word. Promise me that you'll cool it after I tell you?" He grabbed her hand and glared at her, then hung his head. "I'm not gonna enjoy this. I can tell... But yeah. OK. Not a word. I promise." "Good. Thanks." She hesitated and he watched as she let her anger take over. "Mom didn't call you an animal fucker. She called you a rapist, that there was no way a bitch could consent to sex with a human. You raped her, then trained her until she would let you fuck her whenever you wanted to. She wouldn't listen when I tried to explain how it was, that Kathy was the one who seduced you." She sighed. "That was when she said she didn't want me associating with someone who made it seem 'normal' to rape a bitch." She looked down. "So I yelled at her and told her about the papers--and that if she or dad tried to have me declared incompetent, or get a restraining order... or stop me from seeing you, your mom had written instructions to file the rest of the paperwork and make my divorce from her and dad official." Randy was ready to explode. He knew it. He was furious, and wanted to go yell at some people. At the same time... "Beth?" "Randy?" "You lied to me, didn't you?" She hung her head and whispered: "Yes. I knew how you'd react. I didn't want you to do anything stupid, like saying things that would only make it worse." "Oh." He deflated. "Yeah. You're right. That sort of crap does set me off, doesn't it? Were you going to tell me later?" She didn't look up. "I don't know. Maybe. I kinda hoped it was over with, you know?" He nodded, then reached to tilt her head up. "I'm pissed, but I forgive you, ok? I'm more pissed with your mother than I am you, right now, because I understand what you did, for us. No 'right' decisions sometimes." "K." He grinned maliciously. "You wanna get real even? Risk it all, to make her understand?" She reached to take his hand in hers. "I don't know. How?" "We walk in, and let Kathy and Toby seduce us into sex, right there in front of everyone, before the wedding." "Oohhh... That's *evil*!" "Yep. All we'd have to do is *not* tell them no for a change. Think that would resolve the 'consent' and 'rape' issues?" "Consent? Maybe. Rape? I don't know." "What if my mom explains that you can't train a bitch to hide the fact she feels abused? Any halfway competent observer should be able to tell the difference between a trained reaction, and doing it because she enjoys herself." She bit her lip. "I don't know. I can think of lots of ways to deny it." He sighed. "Yeah. So can I. But, every one of them I can think of has to accept that human sex is a trained reaction, too. You think your mom is going to be comfortable with that?" "Huh. I'm glad I love a lawyer's son. Count me in." She finally laughed. "Gonna be easier for me. All I have to do is get on my hands and knees, then lift my skirt. I'll let Toby rip my panties off. He enjoys that almost as much as I do." He grinned back. "Doesn't take me that much longer to get my pants down. Shall we apologize for the delay?" "Oh! Yes!" This will be fun!" They linked arms and started walking again. Beth giggled. "Randy? They're gonna freak, you know?" "So? Let them. If they get serious, we can insist we're giving them a private preview of what we'll be doing in public next month. I refuse to get defensive about it. We're not the ones with problems." "Points." * * * They stopped and stood at the door. Randy grabbed Beth's hand. "You ready for this? I don't know about you but I'm nervous." "Nervous? I haven't been so scared since your mom asked me if I wanted to meet you. All she said was you'd be ok with my sexuality." "Yeah. She likes to play her jokes sometimes. All she told me was that you needed a friend your own age and I was elected." He shuddered. "They're gonna want a lot of answers we don't have." She sighed. "We know the important ones. The rest? I'm not going to pretend, you know?" "Yeah." He put his hand on the door knob. "Beth?" "I know, Randy. Let's do it." She put her hand on his and together they opened the door. His mother and father were standing there, arms wrapped around each other. "You kids ok? Helen said you'd probably be a little late." Randy sighed. "Yeah, Late. We had a lot to talk about. You know. We had to make some decisions." She nodded. "So? Elizabeth? Your mom's worried about you." Beth nodded. Her tone was bitter. "I bet she is. She has a strange way of showing it. May Randy and I stay here until we figure out what we're going to do?" "Of course." She smiled sadly. "We knew this might happen someday." They looked at each other and finally Beth nodded. "It hurts." She wrapped her arm around Randy's waist. "Come on. We have better things to do than worry about what my parents think of a perverted cunt and a rapist." "Elizabeth!" Randy's mother stopped her. "What is that all about?" Randy pushed past his parents with Beth at his side. "C'mon Beth. Let's go talk to the dogs. They're honest about how they feel." He glanced back over his shoulder. "They going to be allowed at our wedding?" His parents nodded. He smiled. "Good." It was his dad who studied him thoughtfully. "Randall? What are you up to now?" He laughed harshly. "Dad? I'm going to do whatever it takes to prove I never raped Kathy." "Pretty sweeping statement, son." "Any kids here, dad?" "No. Just adults. We decided this should be kept secret until next month." Randy smiled. "Good. You're gonna love what happens next." He turned away and started walking. "Let's go find the party--and the dogs." "Randall!" "Yeah, mom?" "Are you going to do what I think you're going to do?" He was laughing... "We gotta practice for next month, don't we?" For the first time he could remember, his mother was shocked speechless. * * * They found everyone on the patio by the pool. As soon as the dogs spotted them, they came running over. Kathy leapt up and started licking his face and he grinned as out of the corner of his eye he saw Toby greeting Beth the same way. Then he laughed and whispered. "Love you, girl. You feel like playing?" She paused in her attentions and studied him. He kissed her nose. "Yeah. Me and you. Ready?" She barked and went back to licking his face a little longer, then she dropped to all fours, turned... and looked back over her shoulder as she flagged him. He grinned and dropped to his knees, then deliberately reached for her and started to pull her to him. She resisted and danced away from him before coming back to kiss him again. He smiled and whispered: "Sorry, girl. I know it was too soon. Give me a minute." He stood up and went over to where Beth was on her knees and kissing Toby enthusiastically. "Hey, Beth? Want some company?" She looked up in surprise. "I thought you were with Kathy." He knelt next to her and hugged her, then whispered: "I deliberately moved too fast--so she'd refuse me." "You what?!" "Yeah. I had my reasons." Kathy forced herself between them and started licking his face again. He laughed and grinned for Beth's benefit. "Ok, girl. I know..." This time he gently slid his hands along Kathy's flanks and haunches, then underneath to rub her belly. Kathy flopped on her back with her legs spread and smiled at him. He settled, then slowly petted her and teased her by avoiding her vulva. She put up with it for a few minutes, then she grabbed his hand and placed it on her vulva. He rubbed her lightly a few times, then went back to petting her stomach. She put up with it for awhile, then placed his hand again. They played this game for awhile, until she rolled to her feet and flagged him again. This time he undid his belt, then lowered his pants and shorts before he reached to slowly ease her backwards into his crotch. He lined himself up and pushed his penis into her. At that point he let go and looked up, deliberately looking for Beth's mom. When he spotted her he smiled. "Mrs. Montgomory? Does training teach an animal it has the right to refuse, like she did earlier? When I petted her, did I insist on touching her intimately? Did I force her to put my hand on her vulva? Did I demand that she get up and let me screw her? If it was rape... If Kathy didn't want and enjoy sex as much as I do... Could I let go and expect her to stay with me?" He held her eyes and glared into the stunned silence. "If I was a rapist, would I insist that sex is by her choice, not mine?" He dropped his gaze and grabbed Kathy's haunches before he started a slow fucking motion. Once he was settled into a rhythm he looked at Beth and Toby. "Hey, Beth?" "Umm?" He laughed. "We're supposed to be getting married. Remember?" She shifted so she could look at him calmly. "I remember. We're both busy right now." He grinned at her. "Yeah. I can see you're tied up. Seems like the best time to do it. You know..." He freed a hand and held it out. "A handfasting, like we talked about." He smiled and got formal. "Elizabeth Anne Montgomory. Will you and Toby allow Kathy and me to join our lives with yours--so we can discover the future together?" She carefully shifted until she could reach and clasp his hand. "Randall Mitchell Jackson. The four of us will face the future together. This I will vow before whoever dares to question our commitment to each other." He nodded. "Thank you, Beth." Beth was the one who tore her attention away first. She looked around the patio and laughed when she saw the mixed reactions. "Is that a good enough wedding ceremony? It had better be, because it's the only one we're going to suffer through." It was Randy's father who broke the silence. "It's good enough for me. I don't object to my son's marriage to this young woman. Is there anyone here who objects?" The silence was brittle, but it was silence. He turned to the man beside him. "Well?" He got a bemused head shake. "You weren't lying when you said 'non-traditional wedding'." He raised his voice. "I hereby declare Randall Mitchell Jackson and Elizabeth Anne Montgomory... Man and wife.. It will be so recorded." He chuckled. "They can sign all the paperwork when it's more convenient, but that delay won't make their marriage any less official, or less binding--as of this date and time." * * * After he orgasmed and pulled out, Kathy cleaned herself while he pulled his shorts and pants up before he scooted next to Beth and hugged her. "How you doing?" She smiled. "I'm OK. I don't think my parents are, though. Dad looked sorta sick and angry, but he was watching mom, not me, so I don't know..." He sighed and nodded. Before he could say more his mother came over and knelt beside them. "I don't know what you had planned for later, but please, go to the guest house as soon as you can. We've changed the security code to Kathy's id number. Set the perimeter alarm and don't let anyone in until we let you know it's ok." Randy was stunned. "Mom? What's going on?" She sighed. "Nothing, we hope. But Helen has a lot to answer for and we don't want to give her a chance to cause problems with you and the dogs. Oh, no matter what happens, don't let the dogs attack anyone." Beth shuddered. "She can't do anything to me now, can she?" "No." She smiled and touched Beth lightly. "Your wedding presents are on the kitchen counter. Open them as soon as you get settled, ok? We weren't expecting to give them to you for a few years, but you're going to need them now." Beth looked at Randy. "Randy?" He was scanning the patio and noting people's positions and expressions. "Beth? You'd better let go of Toby. Let's get out of here. Now. I don't like the way your mom is watching us." He stood and helped Beth up. Then he looked at his mother. "She fooled us twice. I don't want her to have a third chance to mess with my friends' lives." He got a grim look in return. "That's the reason we want you, Beth and the dogs safely out of the way. I thought she listened to me when I explained things to her this morning. She lied to me, and violated her probation in the bargain." He winced. "C'mon, Beth. Let's get out of here." His mother touched his arm. "You two did the right thing. It probably doesn't feel like it, and you're going to feel worse when it sinks in... But this is something I was halfway expecting--and I'm ready for it. Both of you, working together, just saved all your friends a lot of grief." She kissed both of them. "For all of us... Thank You." She shook her head and Randy knew she was hurting. "Go. I'm not going to tell you not to worry, but... Trust me. It will turn out fine. OK?" He and Beth looked at each other for a long time. Beth finally sighed. "Let's go. We'd only be in the way." He looked over at Beth's parents and sighed. "Yeah. Mom? She lied to me and lied *about* me, to my wife. Don't let her backstab anyone else." "I won't. She won't. Go. Forget about school. You can afford to miss a day or two--and considering the circumstances, we want all of you where you're protected, until we know for sure what's going on." Randy shivered. "Mom? Is this Indira, all over again?" She sighed. "I hope not. Get out of here before Beth's parents recover from their shock at what just happened." They left. * * * When they got to the door Randy sighed. "Can you read her number to me? I've never learned it." Once they were inside with the dogs he reset the alarm system and sighed. "This is crazy. It was all fun, you know?" She came over and hugged him. "I know. But you know how my mom can be." He pulled her closer. "Yeah. I still can't believe some of the things you told me about, and now this. I guess I have to believe, now." She cried for awhile. "I just wanted to embarrass her. That's all." "Me, too. I was pissed, but I didn't want to get her fired or anything. Just wanted her to understand. She owed us an apology, that's all." She sighed. "Some honeymoon, isn't it?" "Yeah. Let's go open our presents since there's no point in worrying about your mom. Mom had that 'case won and closed' look." "Randy?" "Yeah?" "I love you." "Love you, too, Beth. Sorry about your mom." She pulled away slightly. "No. She quit being my mom when she called you a rapist and wouldn't listen to me when I tried to explain." He looked at her. "You sure?" She looked away. "Yes." She took a deep breath and looked at him again. "Let's worry about us, ok? We're supposed to be happy." "K." They held each other a little longer, then went into the kitchen area. Randy was the first to read the note next to the presents. "Beth? This is weird. Dad's note says don't let the dogs out unsupervised, and make sure the patio gates are locked from the inside. He wrote it this afternoon, before we got home." She'd been unwrapping the gifts while he read the note and when she had them fully exposed she froze. "Randy? It gets weirder. These are framed certificates that say we're sexual lifestyle therapists, authorized to have sex with our clients." "We're WHAT?! Let me see..." He grabbed one and read it carefully. "I don't believe it. No way. We've never taken any classes... Or anything!" He was pleading... "This has to be some sort of joke, right?" She opened the envelope that had been taped to one of the packages. She read the note, frowned, held it away from her, stared at it for awhile and then, without a word, handed it to Randy. He read it, stared at it in disbelief, then read it again, slowly. He looked up. "Do you believe this? All those tests we took, the hours of testing and evaluation... It was a cram course and they never told us?!" She shook her head. "Are we nuts, or are your parents?" Suddenly she giggled. "No wonder your mom wasn't worried about us fucking the dogs in public." He couldn't stop his slightly hysterical laughter. "Did you read the fine print on the certificates?" "Fine print? Let me..." She gasped. "We specialized? Zoosexuality?" She turned to look at him and they grabbed each other with glee. She was laughing. "Did you figure it out? Next month we're going to be the *experts* people come to for answers." He smiled. "Yeah..." Then his mood changed. "Beth? I bet your mother doesn't know about this. No wonder my mom was livid. She must have been figuring we'd all work together--then your mom blew it." "Oh." She got thoughtful. "I'm hungry. You?" "Huh? Oh." He thought about it. "I haven't eaten since lunch. Yeah, lets feed the dogs and have dinner." "Randy?" "What?" "You think this is going to be our home until we can afford a place of our own?" "I don't know. Maybe, if we ask. Yeah... That reminds me. Something dad told me a long time ago, back when mom was doing the thing for Indira when nobody else was willing to step in." "What's that?" "When in doubt, change the security codes." "You think?..." "Yeah. I can apologise later, if I have to. Be right back." He went to the console and changed the code, then came back with a smile on his face. "Done." "What'd you use?" He grinned. "Something that seemed right. The date my mom won Indira's case." "OK." She smiled tiredly. "Let's cook something special. I want to feel..." She sighed. He sat on one of the stools and thought about it. "It's weird. You know how we've always talked about how we'd screw our brains out on our honeymoon? It's like we've never done it before. I'm nervous as hell and afraid I'll make some sort of big mistake and embarrass myself and piss you off." She nodded. "Yeah. Me, too. It was fun, you know?" She looked up suddenly. "I'd do it again, even if I knew what was going to happen." He sighed. "Yeah. I would too. I wonder if anyone took photos? Can you picture what's gonna happen when our friends ask us about our wedding album?" She giggled. "Yeah. I can. 'Sorry. You can't see it. Our wedding album is XXX rated'... " "Uh huh." He sobered. "Love?" Her head jerked up and she stared at him in surprise. "Love?" He blushed. "Yeah. Thought I'd better try it out. You know, get used to it. Sounds sorta sappy when mom and dad use it all the time, but I kinda understand why they do, now..." She thought about it, then... "Honey?" She blushed. "Yeah. That's some serious shit, isn't it?" He nodded. "We really fucked up your mom and dad's lives, you know? That shit's gonna be forever." She let her head drop briefly and when she raised it he saw her anger. "So was what she tried to do to us. I'm not gonna stop loving them, but I can't respect a woman who would stoop to what she tried to do to us. Not now. She tried to deny me this and I hate her for it. I've never been so content. Ever. You know?" He shook his head sadly. "Yeah. It's all mixed up scary and good and... I don't know. Wait... Yeah." He looked at her and smiled. "It feels right! You know... It's like nothing anyone else thinks or feels really matters any more because we love each other, and it's only us who can decide if we ever want to change things, now." He sobered slightly. "Beth, Love... It's like I *know* I've got a future with someone who cares for me. Cares for the *real* me. I feel like I can do anything, now, because you'll always be beside me." She grinned at him. "It's not going to be easy. Look at what your mom and dad have needed to live with. We still need to finish school and figure out what sort of work we want to do." He brushed that aside with a wave of his hand. "I know that! That's not my point. Look at what we did this evening, together. What are we going to be able to do when we do it deliberately?" She giggled. "You're being silly, but I like it. It still scares me. I don't want to fuck up people's lives like my mother tried to do." He shook his head. "I don't think it was like that. She wanted to do her best for you, based on her beliefs. What scares *me* is that we could wind up doing the same thing. Is our judgment going to be any better? What makes us right, and her wrong?" "Huh. I didn't think about that." She bent her head while she thought about it. Without looking up she sighed. "Will your mom and dad help? You know... Sorta let us know when they think we're gonna like do a major screwup?" "I dunno. Major ones? Maybe. You think that's why they didn't try to stop us earlier?" "Dunno." Her stomach growled at her. "Oops. We'd better eat." "Yeah. I need a break. Too much heavy thinking." "Maybe. Better get used to it, Honey." She giggled. "Gawd... That sounds so freaky! Honeyhoneyhoney..." Then she sobered. "Randy, Honey? I love you. Lots. OK?" He grinned and deepened his voice. "Yes. Wifey. Love. I love you too. Let's eat, huh?" They looked at each other and then he was off the stool and she was in his arms and everything was ok, at last. * * * Randy had the dog bowls on the counter before he paused and looked at them. "Beth?" "What?" "It's their honeymoon, too. Right?" "Sorta. I guess." He nodded, more to himself than because of her answer. "I was just thinking. It should be special for them, too. Not the same old thing. Let's cook dinner for four, not two. Include them, you know?" She stopped on her way to the stove and hugged him. "Randy? That's sweet." He blushed. When he started to put the bowls away Kathy pawed him impatiently. He laughed. "I know, greedy gut. You'll get fed." He grabbed the package of sliced ham they were going to use for their grilled sandwiches and took out a few slices, then cut them into quarters. He knew Kathy was focused on him so without looking he tossed a piece in her general direction. The rattle of her collar and a satisfied smacking sound told him she'd caught it. Beth was laughing. "Like that's something special? She and Toby do it all the time." He turned and went to his knees in front of Kathy. "That wasn't, but this is." He put another piece in his mouth and leaned forward, offering it to Kathy. She took it daintily and settled on her haunches before she gulped it down. He did that for each of the remaining pieces. When they were gone he smiled and hugged her. "Kathy? Love you, girl. You'll get more food as soon as we cook it." He looked up to see Beth standing there watching him with a rapt expression on her face. "Oh. Wow. I gotta do that with Toby." She giggled... "And you." He blushed. "Me? That's..." He shook his head. "I was going to say crazy, but it's gonna be awesome, isn't it?" She smiled. "Yeah. I think it will be. Too bad we don't have our phones with us." "Beth? We got something just as good. Better, maybe. There's a cam on the computer. Want to use it?" She blushed. "You mean then, too?" He grinned lopsidedly. "About time we captured what *we* want captured, isn't it?" "You're wicked. Let's do it." "OK." * * * Beth looked at the stack of grilled ham and cheese sandwiches. "I thought we'd never wind up with some for us. Those two are bottomless." Randy laughed as he carried the tray to the table and set it down. "Yeah." He grabbed one and wolfed it down. "Man, I'm starved!" "Silly man. You should have snacked while you were handing food to Kathy and Toby. That's what I did." He paused and looked at her with surprise. "Man? I'm just a kid. You know that." She shook her head. "No. We quit being kids on the way home. Maybe we've never been *real* kids. Ever since we learned we're zoos." She sat across from him and took a sandwich from the stack. Instead of eating it she carefully examined it, as if she were looking for something. Finally she nibbled at it. "Randy?" "Yeah, Beth?" She shrugged. "Thanks. Thanks for being you and..." She fell silent, unwilling, or unable to put her feelings into words. He sighed. "Yeah, Beth. You're welcome, and for what it's worth, you have my thanks." They used their free hands to reach across the table and make contact. She smiled. "What happened to all those plans we had? You know. The fancy dinner, all our friends cheering us on... Dressed up..." He laughed. "Yeah. Our friends are never going to believe this." He deliberately took a bite from his sandwich. "Wedding cake? Nahh... We made a stack of grilled sandwiches and shared them with the dogs." She laughed. "Should we freeze one and save it for our anniversary?" He took another bite. "That's truly weird. Not freezing a sandwich. I think that's a good idea. What freaks me is that we're gonna start having anniversaries." She nodded, then blushed. "What about kids, later?" "Yeah. Someday." "Hey. It's OK. I'm not going to stop birth control for a lot of years, and there'd better be a lot of condoms around somewhere because we're not going to screw up our lives that way." He shivered. "Yeah. For real. I still lose it when I think about what happened to Tammy and Ed. Good thing her folks were cool about it, 'cause Ed was a total asshole." He finished his sandwich and looked at their joined hands. "Maybe I should have taken the exemption." She squeezed. "Scared?" "Yeah. I told your mom I didn't want to be first... But you know, somewhere inside I was lying about it. I do want to be the first of our generation to be out like my mom." He looked at her and his eyes were pleading. "It's not what you think. You know how they're always telling us that when shit happens, it's never going to be the way you thought it would be?" She nodded. "It's bad. Real bad. I'm scared and all that. But there's something else, too. I'm glad it's started. We're out, we're together, and..." He squeezed her hand tightly. "You know what really scares the shit out of me? We can't ask my mom for advice, 'cause she doesn't have a clue about what it's like, or what's really going to happen next." He blushed, but never looked away. "And there's something else. Sounds crazy every time I think about it... But I'm glad it's us. Would you want any of our other zoo friends to represent ALL of us in front of the world?" She winced. "That's..." She broke off and sighed. "Motive, huh? I can think of a few who would have done what we did, but they'd do it to shock folks, or something like that, wouldn't they? At least we thought about getting people to understand us better. even if it wasn't before we agreed it would be fun to embarrass my folks." He winced. "Yeah. That reminds me. You said your dad was watching your mom. How do you think he feels?" She sighed. "Like shit. When I looked at them before we left, he had a real solid grip on mom's arm. Kinda like he was holding her back from doing something stupid." She started crying. "I don't know... When our eyes met he sorta smiled a little and nodded, like he was trying to tell me he was ok with what I'd done. I don't think mom saw it. She was pretty grim looking." "Yeah. I could tell that much." Kathy nudged him and when he looked down she sneezed and went over to stand by the dog door. He moaned in shock. "Shit." She looked at him. "What? He ignored her. "I don't want to do that. Damn. I guess we gotta. I wonder?..." "Randy? What's wrong?" He sighed. "Remember dad's note and my mom's warning about not letting the dogs attack anyone?" "So? We go outside with them, right? Keep an eye out?" "Yeah. I wish it was that simple. I wonder if they called the patrol service to send people out to watch the place?" "What's that got to do with letting the dogs go to the bathroom?" He sighed. "I'd better call them and find out. If they're out there, they need to know we'll be outside for awhile." "Randy? What's going on?" "Huh? Oh. I forgot we didn't know each other back when my mom was defending Indira. Things got scary with all the threats and stuff. You know how to handle a pistol or gun?" "No." Then she realized what he was asking. "Are you serious?!" "Yeah. I am." He looked at her. "Dad made sure I know how to use them, and when not to use one. I think I'd rather clean up after the dogs than go outside right now." He went over to the phone and looked up the number to the security agency. After a few minutes conversation he hung up and sighed with relief. "OK. I was right. Dad called in a couple of teams, just in case. We're covered, but I'm supposed to carry whenever we go outside, since they have my records and know I'm qualified." He went to a wall cabinet and entered a code. When he had the door open he removed a belt and holster. After he put it on he settled it where he wanted it and took out the pistol that went with it. He sighed, inserted the magazine and worked the action, chambering a round. He made sure it was on safe, then he put it in the holster with the butt facing forward. He sighed again, then closed his eyes and slowly reached for the pistol and wrapped his hand around the handle. He did this once for each hand and then opened his eyes. He closed the cabinet door and turned to face Beth, who was looking scared. "Sorry. I know it's stupid. I didn't think I'd have to carry it again. Ever. But I gotta. For us. You. To protect the dogs, you know?" She stared at him. "I've never seen you so serious." He nodded. "Yeah. I know. I thought it was over, so I never remembered to tell you about it. Hopefully..." He took a deep breath. "Hopefully it will be just like then, and the next time I take it out of the holster, it will be to put it away. But, until I get the ok from dad, or mom, I gotta keep it with me all the time, or have it within reach." She shivered. "That's scary." "Yep. And since I have the pistol and you aren't familiar with guns, it means you get to do the same with the cordless phone and the emergency remote for the alarm system." He went over and hugged her, then smiled. "C'mon... Relax. I've seen these folks train. I don't think anyone is going to get past them, or the perimeter sensors. When all this is over, I'll take you on a tour of the yard and show you just what kind of security dad put in." He laughed... "Don't forget, mom only told us to hold back these guys. She didn't say anything about her dogs but I know they're going to be loose in the yard, too, just like they always are." She looked doubtful and he smiled. "Beth, its just like having my wallet in my pocket, or when you carry your purse. You'll forget it's there until you need it, that's all. If it makes you feel better, you can stand in the doorway while I go out with the dogs." He grinned at her. "Or you can come out and hug me while we wait for them." She blinked. "Hug you? While you're wearing *that*?" She gestured at the pistol. "Yeah. That's why I have it backwards. So I can draw with either hand." "Oh." She sighed. "Am I going to have to?..." He shook his head. "Only if you want to, Beth. Nobody is going to ask you, or force you." She let her breath out with a whoosh. "Good." She walked over and grabbed the cordless, then took the panic button out of its charging cradle. "Let's take the dogs out." He nodded, then went over and disabled the alarm on the sliding glass door. The dogs pushed past them as soon as the glass door was open wide enough. They started to run, then froze and stared at one of the gates and growled. Randy smiled. "Good kids. Friends." Kathy glanced at him and then refocused on the gate briefly. She finally sneezed and went about her business. Toby looked at Beth and she nodded. "Toby? It's OK. Friends." He went over and checked out the gate, pissed on the wall next to it, then ran off to join Kathy. Beth giggled. "Huh. I think he just expressed his opinion of our 'friends'." Randy laughed, but never stopped scanning the yard when he wasn't watching Kathy. "Yeah. I suppose he did. Kathy must have recognized them, since she only acted disgusted about it." Eventually the dogs finished and came back for attention. The four of them went back inside and Randy made sure all of the sensors were on. Beth watched him and sighed before she went over and flopped on the couch. "I should be exhausted. It's after midnight." "Wired?" "Yep." "So'm I." She leaned back and spread her legs slowly. Randy watched, then started laughing when Toby went over and started licking the insides of her thighs. "He beat me to it. I was going to suggest a shower together." "Mmm... Sounds good." She closed her eyes and moaned when Toby started working on her pubic area, then worked his nose and tongue between her labia. "Can you wait a few minutes?" He laughed and started stripping. "Kathy and I can manage." "K. Thanks." * * * Randy was in the bathroom and holding the belt with the holstered pistol. Beth laughed. "You look confused." He sighed. "I am. Trying to figure out how to keep this thing handy, but keep it from getting wet. Nobody ever told me I'd be taking a shower with it." She giggled, then sobered. "If someone breaks in, the dogs are gonna go nuts, right?" "Yeah." She laughed at his sour tone. "So take it out and leave it on top of the toilet tank." He shook his head in disgust, then smiled. "Yeah, that will work. I didn't think about taking it out ahead of time. Everybody was pretty insistant that it should never be removed from the holster unless I was going to pull the trigger. But there's no way I can remove it if the holster isn't attached to something, and seconds could count." He sighed. "I always thought dad was being too paranoid about making sure he could get his clear as fast as he could, but now I know why." He turned away slightly as he removed the pistol from the holster. "Beth, you should see him when they're practicing. Mom's fast but he's awesome." She nodded. "What about you?" He sighed. "Fast enough, I suppose, but they keep telling me I think too much about what I'm doing." She hugged him. "C'mon. Relax. Nothing has really changed, has it? My mom flies off all the time, then she cools down in a few days. There's all that security out there and the dogs aren't going to let anyone get past them, either. Right?" He nodded and put the pistol out where he could grab it if he needed to. "You're probably right." He laughed suddenly. "You know what? I just had this weird idea. Wouldn't it be fun to have all our friends as bodyguards? I don't mean just the zoos... ALL of them." She grinned back at him. "It'd be awesome." Then she sighed. "Scary, too. Most of the zoos aren't out at home, yet." He sagged. "Yeah. You're right. Let's see what happens next month." He pulled her close. "I didn't screw Kathy. Saved myself for you this time." They kissed. Both of them were breathing raggedly when they separated. She touched his face lightly. "G'wan. Get the water ready. I'll open a few condoms and get them ready. I don't want to go through what we did that first time." He blushed, then laughed as he let go and reached to turn on the water. Once he had the temperature set he got in the shower. Beth finished opening the condoms and then, holding one of them, she joined him. Without saying anything she grabbed his penis, made sure it was stiff, then rolled the condom on. When she was done she grinned up at him, then reached for the hand held shower and soaked them both. Still grinning, she soaped her front, then hugged him and used her body to scrub his. Both of them were moaning, and very quickly it got to be too much for their control. Randy reached down and grabbed himself, then quickly lined up and slammed his way into Beth. Before he started pumping he pulled away from their kiss and gasped. "I love you, ya know?" "Mmm. Shut up and fuck me. We can cuddle later." He laughed, then turned them until Beth was between him and the wall of the shower. He deliberately thrust his hips forward, as if she were a butterfly and he was pinning her to the wall with his dick. They quickly built to a pounding rhythm that took over their bodies and left no room for thinking. The cares of the day were forgotten as they finally lost themselves in their lust. Coloring it all though, for the first time, was something they didn't need to speak of. They didn't have to hide any more, or deny their shared love for their dogs--and each other. ==== What follows is a brief scene placed in the school when they finally return. If someone wants to work with it, do so with my encouragement, OK? ----- return to school scene opening: --- "Hey! Bitch Banger!" Randy winced and shared a rueful grin with Beth before he answered. "Hey yourself, 'Cunt Crammer'." The teen grimanced. "Got me. Been some really weird rumors going around. Nobody knows what to believe, other than Beth's mom suddenly quit her job and nobody knows why." He looked away to check out the area before he lowered his voice. "You guys really married?" He blushed. "I overheard my parents talking when they got back from your place. They were kinda loud. Did you *really* fuck the dogs in front of everyone? That must have been awesome!" Randy and Beth sighed. He grimaced. "Yeah. We're married. We fucked the dogs before the ceremony. It was awesome. So awesome..." He opened his windbreaker to show George the shoulder holster he wore. "I had a choice. This, or Beth and I had to start living with bodyguards everywhere we go. Pass the word, huh? Quietly. Beth and I have enough problems without someone acting weird and trying to get me to draw the damn thing." "Shit. I hope you got a permit for that thing. I bet the guards and everyone freaked when they heard you're going to be carrying." It was Beth who nodded. "We had to talk fast and convince the school board Randy knew what he was doing." She reached and touched their friend's arm lightly. "There's a condition though, and you're part of it." He blushed. "Me?" "Yep. Randy had this real strange idea on our wedding night. He thought it would be nice if all our friends acted as our bodyguards, so he wouldn't need to keep worrying about where the pistol was." George blinked. "Someday you gotta tell me... That must have been a weird night." Randy blushed. "Yeah. Someday. Anyway, we're supposed to get enough of our friends together so they can act as informal bodyguards all day. Nobody has to admit anything unless they want to. But the school board thinks it will be a good idea if it works. We hope it does, 'cause if it doesn't, we gotta bring personal bodyguards until this all cools down, which means for the next three years, at least." George grimaced again. "Shit. Indira wasn't this bad." Beth sighed. "I'm glad I wasn't there. Randy's told me about it but I guess it hadn't really sunk in until now." He sighed. "It was bad. Count me in. OK?" Beth hugged him. "Good. We were hoping you would be. You're our first choice to be in charge." "Oh, thanks. I never should have beat the crap out of Ed after he refused to take care of Tammy, huh?" Randy laughed and punched him on the arm. "Exactly. People know you aren't afraid to get involved. We need that reputation of yours to stop problems before they start." "Huh." He shut up and studied them. "Marriage changed you two a lot. Few days ago you weren't as manipulative. I don't know if I like all the changes I'm seeing." He held up a hand in apology. "Got nothing to do with being friends. You know how I feel about most adults and it's scary because if it's happening to you, it's gonna happen to me, too, someday." Randy sighed and looked at Beth. "Should we tell him?" "Tell me what?" Beth smiled sadly. "I thought everybody would know by now." Randy snorted. "Yeah. If George doesn't know, nobody does, yet." He turned back to George. "Beth and I are in The Progam next month. Her mom offered me an exemption, I refused it so she asked if I knew a girl like me who was willing to take part. Then things got kinda crazy and when it was all over we were married and her mom was in deep, deep shit and sinking." He sighed. "So we finished growing up a few years early, we hope. Everything we've talked about? All that planning? Well, it's happening and we'd appreciate any help we can get." "Shit. This is it? For real?" "Yeah. You still in, buddy?" George looked scared when he nodded. "I'm still in. You know I don't do that stuff like you do, but I'm ok with it. You know that." Beth hugged him. "Thanks. Someday you'll know what that means to us, coming after what we've just been through." "K. Welcome." After she let go he looked around again. "Couple of things. Have you talked to Indira yet? You know she and her family feel they owe you a debt of honor." Randy winced. "Yeah. I know. Mom and dad tried explaining things to them but I guess they didn't quite get it when she said she would have done it no matter what." George smiled. "Yeah. Do you mind if I talk to Indira about this?" Randy laughed. "You mean you keep secrets from her?" George blushed. "A few. She understands. Maybe she and I can keep the rest of her family under control. Be hard though, with Beth's mom involved." Beth winced. "Even now, she affects my life. I wonder if I'll ever be free of her?" Randy hugged her. "It's only the after effects, and if not your mother, it would be someone else." "Yeah. You're right." George laughed. "Good. I have something to blackmail you both with." Randy stared. "Huh?" He grinned. "Beth admitted you were right about something. What's it worth for me to keep my mouth shut?" Randy laughed. "When people find out we're married, who'd believe it happened?" "Huh! I can think of a few who might." He sobered. "Speaking of 'being right', I know you think Ed's an asshole, but he's changed. I'd like to include him if I can get him to give his word." Randy's flash of anger was barely supressed. He had his teeth gritted when he carefully replied. "Beth's mom gave me her word--and look what happened." "Whoa!" George held up his hands placatingly. "Ed *can* be an asshole, but Tammy's ok with him now, and he dotes on their baby girl. They all got it sorted out and nobody is arguing about the fact he and Tammy never would have made it together. Besides, they were both stupid, and as far as her mom is concerned, Ed only screwed up in how he tried to explain he couldn't be a good father. He's working out fine--as an uncle." Randy nodded. "Go on." George sighed. "You gotta agree to keep our secret before I tell you." Randy and Beth looked at each other for a long time. Beth sighed and looked back. "What secret? That you and Ed are gay?" "What?! We fooled you, too? Ed's gonna love that!" He started laughing. "No. We're not gay, we're bi. That's not the secret." Beth was exasperated. "OK. We agree already. Tell us!" He smiled. "Everyone thinks Indira and I are a hot item, right? Well, we're really more brother and sister. She and Ed are engaged and plan on getting married after they graduate. So, you see... When I talk to her, Ed's going to be there, too. No way I can avoid telling him, and while he doesn't really like you two, he's used to the idea that as far as her family is concerned, Randy's mom walks on water. As her son, some of that has rubbed off on Randy, and now you're married, it's only going to get worse." Randy looked sick. "Are you telling me Ed's been celibate ever since he knocked up Tammy?" George blushed. "Not completely. Indira would roast his balls for breakfast if he screwed another girl, though, and he knows it." Randy blushed. "Oh." George chuckled at Randy's discomfort. "So, can I add him if he wants in? Beth nodded. "Yes. We can't afford to refuse anyone who wants to help. Not now." George nodded. "Thanks. You know... You two are scary." She frowned. "We are?" "Yeah. What is it? Telepathy that only happens after you get married? I can't believe how all of a sudden it feels like I'm talking to one person in two bodies. You know. Ask you something and I never know who's going to answer even though you don't discuss it--that I can see." Randy sighed. "Save your questions for next month, then we'll have to answer them and a lot of others none of us can think of right now. The bell chose that moment to ring. George chuckled and waved as he walked away. "If you don't see me after class, someone else will be there." ---- "Community togetherness can lead to a consensus outlook that seeks and destroys any dissident element, no matter how small and really harmless" Dean R.
