   Chapter 43

"Jack. We have a problem." Scotty told me and shattered my daydreams of
hiding the weenie in Xing.

"What a time for a problem Scotty. What is this problem?" I asked.

"Actually we have two problems Jack. First, it has just come to my
attention that Xing has already been tricked. Therefore it will currently
be impossible for you to trick her. Second, a message from the Aliens has
just arrived and it is asking us; Jim, Bones and myself to minimize all
activities that do not involve security. We weren't directed to stop the
activities but were directed to place our alert status on a higher plane
and to make sure that we could stop all activities except defense on a
second's notice." Scotty informed me.

This was a shocker to say the least. The snafu with Xing was troubling
but I was sure that we could work around that. The heightened alert status
could only mean that trouble from Aliens other than the ones we knew was
expected. I had to know more.

"What is the cause of the heightened alert level?" I asked.

"Apparently an attack on another system is giving the drone there some
difficulty. I didn't get many details but from what I did get it seems
that the attack is from multiple vessels and their shielding is much more
efficient than we have previously encountered. The report states that it
is not close to the robustness of our shielding but that it is strong
enough to cause real problems. Two StarCruisers are en-route to aid the
drone and should arrive within six hours. The drone has reported that it
can maintain the defense for that long at least and possibly for twice that
time." Scotty told me.

"How close are these attacks to us Scotty?" I asked.

"Thousands of parsecs. A StarCruiser would need days to travel from
that system to this one.  We are in no danger from the attackers there;
however, they might not be the only group of attackers with the new
shielding technology." He said.

"That isn't very comforting. Are there other plans to increase our
defenses?" I asked.

"Not currently. The Aliens feel that we are safe enough here for the
time being. They think that the higher alert status will be sufficient.
They are considering stationing more drones here later unless they
immediately determine the source of this new threat." He told me.

"I suppose that is the best we can hope for. It is a little troubling
though." I said.

"It is more troubling than you probably know. This is the first time
that a single drone has not been able to deal with a threat without help."
Scotty informed me.

"I guess you should send me back to the ranch then. I can't help you up
here. Please keep me informed though." I told him.

Nancy was surprised to see me back in the kitchen. She gave me the
funniest look.

"What in the hell are you doing back here?" She asked.

"There are two new developments Nancy." I replied.

I gave her a rundown of the new information. She was curious about the
attack but even more curious about Xing.

"I wonder who's been dicking your girl Jack. Did Scotty give you any of
the details?" She asked.

"No and I don't want to bother him about it now. He could probably tell
me without it being a bother but I think that this attack thing should come
first. Even if I have to take out the trash myself." I told her.

"Ain't that the gospel? Nothing like a few motherfuckers in space ships
planning an attack to bring home the real job Scotty, Jim and Bones are
here to do. Hell we can take care of things down here if they can make
sure we don't have any uninvited conquerors making a visit." Nancy said.

"You're right Nancy. I'll admit that I feel guilty about the time I've
wasted now. I should have been preparing for something like this all
along." I said.

"Bullshit Jack. I hate to let you off the hook but you couldn't have
done shit about this. The Aliens know thousands of times more about
weapons in space than you do and they won't even give you access to any of
that technology. You can hardly be expected to make a leap of thousands of
years of knowledge and defend against weapons that you don't even
understand." She told me.

"I know but it just seems like I should be able to. It's hard on me to
just sit here and let the Aliens take care of our defenses." I said.

"What you had better be worrying about is something that you can fix.
You know damned well that you can't have Xing running around building up
China without supervision. Especially since we now know that someone else
could be pulling the strings. You realize that I'm going to give you hell
if she was just recently tricked when you know that you should have done it
weeks ago." Nancy reminded me.

"I know Nancy. I'm wondering about that myself. Surely if she'd been
tricked for very long we would have already known about it and I know that
I asked Scotty to make sure that no one was using the trick unless I knew
about it. I'm going to have to quiz him about that as soon as the danger
is over." I told her.

"The time will come for that later, in the meantime go into your office
and see if you can get some work done on something else. You and I will
both go nuts sitting in here wondering what went wrong when there is no way
that we could have known about any of it." She told me.

She had a point there. I went into my study and then changed my mind
and went to my office at the hotel. I didn't even want to bother Scotty
with that and I had the robot take me in the big limo.

When I got to the office Laurie and Miriam were surprised to see me but
they seemed happy I'd come. They didn't ask me why I wasn't up in orbit
dicking Xing and I was glad. I had Miriam get my reports and I made myself
sit down and go over them for a few hours. Many times I would have to go
back over parts of them, as my mind would wander to what might be going on
in some other system billions of miles from us. I kept at it though.

When five PM rolled around I realized that there were nearly fifty women
working at the hotel that needed to get to the ranch. I contacted them all
and told them that we wouldn't be using the transport system today and that
I would take them home in the limo. Of course there wasn't room for all of
them at once and I thought we might have to make two trips.

I was relieved to find that Seven had made better arrangements. She had
organized a vehicle search this afternoon and my bodyguards now had an
armed fleet of humvees to escort the limo, this also gave them a way to get
back and forth.

They nor the limo were needed tonight though as Seven had made sure that
Big Dick One, the former Air Force One, was warmed up and ready to take us
to the ranch. In one way it seemed silly to board such a massive plane for
a sixty-mile trip, but it would carry all of us at once easily. All the
girls seemed delighted for the experience at that. When Scotty had
lengthened the runway at the ranch to accommodate larger planes I'd thought
that was a little much too, now I was glad he had.

We boarded the big plane and strapped in. By the time we were good and
airborne it was almost time to buckle back up for the landing. When we
deplaned the big limo, the smaller one that Bill and Jackie had bought and
Susan's big Cadillac were waiting to take us up to the ranch house. It
turned out to be a nice little adventure for us all and was really kind of
fun. Shelly and Sarah had come to fetch me in Shelly's Corvette. Since it
was only a two-seater Sarah had to sit in my lap on the way to the house. I
didn't find it uncomfortable at all.

The adventurous atmosphere carried over to supper and we all had a good
time. The instruments came out again later and even my tin ear could tell
that the players had been doing some practicing. I proceeded to drink more
long necks than I should have and I went to bed around ten PM. Just
slightly drunk. I think that Nancy, Shelly and Sarah slept with me but I'm
not sure. I do remember that there was always a titty in reach for cupping
no matter which way I turned over.

I woke at eight AM the next morning. Shelly and Sarah were still in bed
with me and were in fact both up against me, covering me with beautiful
female flesh. Before I thought about it I signaled Scotty to keep them
sleeping while I got up. He sounded cheerful as he told me he would.

I was already showered and standing in the bathroom drying off when it
came to me that I had disturbed Scotty.

"Scotty how are things today? How is the attack going?" I asked him.

"The attack is over Jack. All the attackers were destroyed. It did
take the drone and two StarCruisers to deal with them though." He told me.

"What is our current alert status then?" I asked.

"The Aliens recommend that we remain more alert than previously. They
do not think there is any real danger but still council prudence. Jim,
Bones and I have resumed our previous duties. We are planning to make sure
that only one of us at a time becomes involved in any major teleportation
project though." He told me.

"Very well. I do have a project for you though. It isn't a reflection
on the three of you but I have realized that we have invited ourselves
completely out of the loop for our defense from outside attack. This
little incident has brought home the fact to me that we should be as aware
of what is going on as the Aliens will let us. Jasmine, Clair, Brenda,
Kelly and Seven were the ones that I relied on for most of my defensive
strategy before we made contact and I would like for you to begin teaching
them all that they are allowed to know about your resources. I want you to
make them as knowledgeable as they are allowed to be." I told him.

"I will be glad to of course Jack. In fact I will be delighted to do
so. Jim, Bones and I will be especially happy to work with Jasmine." He
said.

"Why is that Scotty?" I asked.

"Jasmine is fascinating to us. In her everyday life she seems so normal
and actually what you would call sweet natured. We happened upon her
memories of the altercation at the airbase though and we were surprised.
It was almost as if her mind shifted into another mode. It wasn't so much
that she was angry although she was certainly so. It was just that she
seemed to shift from being a normal female into an all-aware killing
machine. She didn't give shooting that pilot a second thought and I can
tell you that cutting the breast off the other women who were defying her
was the best that they could have hoped for at her hand if they had harmed
you. I can also tell you that whenever something seems threatening her
mental activity increases significantly. We welcome the chance to have
closer contact with her." Scotty said.

"I'm glad Scotty. I'm glad that I have her and I'm glad that you want
to help her." I told him.

The Alien technology was wonderful; there was no doubting that, and
their weapons were awe-inspiring. They weren't really a warlike race, they
just had control of everything that was going on in the universe and they
intended to keep control.

The new group of bandits, as Scotty called them, was different than
others the Aliens had encountered. Scotty hadn't said so but from the way
he had told me about them I knew it. For one thing, the drone that was
guarding the system they had entered hadn't immediately disposed of them.
In fact the drone had only been able to achieve a stalemate with the
bandits. Luckily for the Aliens and for the inhabitants of the system two
StarCruisers had been able to come to the drone's aid.

Apparently the bandits had intended to keep pounding on the drone until
they wore it down to defeat it. Scotty had been quick to point out that if
they had entered earth's system Jim, Bones and he would have been able to
take care of them unaided.

I wasn't convinced. I knew that three drones were much more beneficial
than one but from Scotty's report on the matter I knew that it had taken
the beleaguered drone and both the rescuing StarCruisers to destroy the
bandit's attacking vessels. Knowing something, at least, about the power a
drone could generate and extrapolating to what a StarCruiser could deliver
told me that the bandits could absorb a tremendous amount of punishment.

It wasn't really that they could absorb it though. It was the shielding
technology. They didn't absorb the punishment; they deflected it. All of
the weapons on both sides were in the form of lasers or phasers if you're a
trekkie. At any rate they were not bombs or projectiles like we on earth
were familiar with. They were like the weapons of StarTrek. I had seen
Scotty discharge one of his once to destroy an errant asteroid that was
approaching him. To me it looked like a strong purple tinted bolt of
lightning. He'd explained that it wasn't static electricity but that it
was a similar release of a different type of energy. We ignorant
earthlings still hadn't made enough progress to be allowed to know much
more about it than that.

To myself I admitted that this attack, though thousands of parsecs away
from us, had me a little worried. First it was the only time I'd heard it
mentioned that there was an organized group anywhere that weren't
completely under the Alien's control. Second the attackers had made a good
showing in what was apparently their first attack. Even if we had three
drones there was nothing to say that these bandits couldn't learn from
their mistakes and attack in greater force if they chose to attack us.

I don't know where it came from but the image of a battleship's
sixteen-inch guns flashed into my mind. This was patently ridiculous of
course but I couldn't shake it. Shortly after this I began wondering just
what kind of energy one of those sixteen inch projectiles could deliver if
it could be accelerated to light speed.

"Scotty, when you destroyed that asteroid, why did you need to?" I asked
him.

"It was approaching me and it would have impacted within five or six
days." Scotty told me.

"Wouldn't your shields have deflected it? It was rather small wasn't
it?" I asked.

"It was small but it still weighed over one thousand pounds. The
shields would have deflected it of course but it was traveling at over
forty thousand miles per hour. It would have been rather jarring to say
the least and it would have probably caused some damage, shields or not.
The shields are designed mostly for defense against weapons and while they
do provide protection from collision with objects the asteroid was large
enough and had enough velocity to be rather closer to their design limits
than I would have been comfortable with." Scotty admitted.

"If the asteroid had weighed two thousand pounds or more and had been
traveling near the speed of light would it have damaged you if it had
struck you." I asked.

"Certainly. It would have probably traveled right through me and I'm
sure that it would have caused a considerable amount of damage; depending
on which parts it traveled through. There is no need to worry about that
scenario though. There is no known technology that can accelerate an
object to that speed in normal space." Scotty informed me.

Of course I knew that already. I also knew something that Scotty was
leaving out. Their vessels could travel faster than light and they did it
by entering another dimension or something like that. I did know that when
they came back into normal space-time they came back into it at very near
light speed and that they always used all available power to decelerate as
quickly as possible. I had questioned him about this before and what he
was allowed to reveal to me hadn't been much but I had gathered that even
though they could use sensors from one dimension to another they did not
want to be traveling at that kind of velocity in normal space-time because
even a collision with a tiny object at that speed could be dangerous.

This all gave me something to think about and I made sure that my virus
didn't communicate any of what I was thinking to Scotty. I needed to know
more about their method of faster than light travel but I knew I couldn't
find out any more from the drones. I decided to try one more tack though.

"Scotty can you tell me anything else about faster than light travel?" I
asked.

"I can tell you that it requires moving to another dimension and that
two opposing fields, of a type I can't discuss, are created within the
vessel. Then the vessel is basically ejected from normal space-time into
the other dimension and while there the fields must be maintained and
manipulated to control the travel. When deceleration is to occur the
fields are simply collapsed and then partially reversed, then most power is
channeled into normal powered deceleration. I might add that gravity and
inertial dampening is carefully manipulated inside the vessel during this
deceleration to allow those on the vessel to survive." Scotty told me.

"What would happen if no power was channeled to deceleration?" I asked.

"In that case the vessel would continue to travel at near light speed
until it struck something or until it decelerated naturally. I would like
to add that natural deceleration in the vacuum of space would take an
enormous amount of time and that the vessel would probably become ensnared
in the gravitational influence of something before it decelerated." He
explained.

"Thank you Scotty." I told him.

I wondered if an object, namely a projectile, could be ejected from
normal space time into this other dimension and then allowed to return
while still traveling at near light speed. To me it was a natural
expectation. Of course I still thought of weapons that used projectiles.
Surely if it was possible the Aliens had already thought of it and
dismissed it. Of course they had known all the facts about their virus and
its potential for communicating with us and we with it also. They had just
overlooked it.

I wasn't thinking in terms of discovering something else for the Alien's
benefit. I was worried about earth. Even in earth's relatively short
history many had been left hanging by depending on another group to defend
them.

I asked Scotty to schedule a meeting for me tomorrow. I wanted to meet
with all earth's remaining scientist and researchers that had any
experience with weapons or faster than light theory. He told me the group
would number three thousand and that twelve hundred of them had not been
indoctrinated yet. Most of those didn't even know that I existed.

I put the meeting time off for three more days and told Scotty to gather
all those on the list in a hotel nearby, indoctrinating those that lacked
it with all possible speed. This naturally aroused Scotty's curiosity.

"May I ask about the purpose of this Jack?" Scotty asked.

"I'm not trying to offend you but just as there are things that I am not
allowed to know there are things that I don't intend to allow you and the
Aliens to know if I can help it. I'm instructing you, Jim and Bones not to
try and discover anything about this meeting and certainly not to divulge
anything about it to the Aliens or anyone else. I will tell you that I
think I have run across another thing that the Aliens should know but
apparently have overlooked." I said.

"We will honor your wishes of course. I look forward to the time that
you can take me into your confidence on this matter so that I can try to
help you with it." Scotty told me.

"I'm not promising but that will probably happen as soon as the meeting
is over." I told him.

I don't know why exactly but I just got a feeling that Scotty was
excited. I knew that didn't really make sense but then I remembered he had
actually made a joke just a few days ago. Maybe we were rubbing off on
him.

"Scotty you almost seem excited. Why is that?" I had to ask him.

"I assume that I actually am excited. I knew that I was having a
completely new experience. Do you have any idea how many drones exist and
how many of them have ever been present when a species they were guarding
discovered something of use to the Aliens?" Scotty asked me.

"I don't have any idea." I told him truthfully.

"There are over seventeen million drones in service. Exactly nine have
witnessed a species under their care make a discovery that was truly useful
to the Aliens. None have ever witnessed two such discoveries." Scotty told
me.

"Well don't get your hopes up. It is merely a supposition on my part
and I could easily be completely out in left field." I told him.

"I will wait until after the meeting to hope for more information. I
don't have intuition but if I did I'm sure that it would be working in your
favor now. You are a surprising individual Jack. Sometimes you are not as
surprising as Nancy but you still have your moments." Scotty said.

I really didn't know what to think about that thought. Then I
remembered coming home to the ranch in what was surely the biggest limo
ever created to find that the ranch house had been more than doubled in
size during my hour absence. I think that Scotty had hit the nail on the
head. No one could be more surprising than Nancy.

Come to think of it I was a little excited myself. I spent most of the
next three days going over my mythical warp cannon in my head. With my
limited amount of technical facts I couldn't find any problem with it. I
knew that there were so many things that I didn't know; and that a snag
could appear anywhere.

Finally the morning of the meeting arrived. I told Scotty to make sure
that every thought of all present was recorded and asked him again not to
examine those thoughts but to merely store them for later.

All those that were brought to the meeting place had been given
indoctrination, either by male or female nurses. They had then been led
directly to bed if they needed the memory and mental upgrade. After all
that was completed Scotty had transferred a concise and rather complete
explanation of what the terminations had been about and covering most of
what had happened since then. I specifically had Scotty leave out the
details of my sex life. He had thought that it would be interesting and
initially intended to give everyone all the dirt.

When we were all assembled I took the podium and after a short greeting
got right to the point.

"We are here to discuss the possibility of creating a projectile weapon
that can accelerate its projectile to near light speed. The details are
not important now. I want you all to examine the material that is allowed
to us for possible flaws in my thinking.

"From the little I know about the Alien's method of Faster Than Light
travel, their vessels leave this dimension, travel to near their
destination and then return to this dimension with a residual velocity of
near light speed, using all available power to decelerate. I want your
opinions on whether a projectile can be externally manipulated in this way
and then returned to our dimension, with this residual velocity, and
delivered onto or into a target." I told them.

To say that they were surprised would be laughable. I watched them,
some with their mouths actually gaping open, and as what I'd asked sunk in
I could tell that they were going over the available information that was
in their new memory. I could tell that some had come to a conclusion after
about fifteen minutes but I signaled for them to be patient while others
were still working.

Nearly an hour later the last person signaled that she was finished. I
asked them to confer mentally and elect a spokesman. They did and I
listened in on the process. Instead of vying for the honor, I realized
that they were trying to decide whom they could shame into taking it.
Finally Hans, who Scotty had told me was the oldest living person on earth
at thirty-nine, was convinced that it was his duty. They then discussed
their findings with Hans.

"Sir we have a conclusion." Hans spoke up.

"Pleas call me Jack, and please give me your results." I told him.

"The amount of data we have available is very small and our combined
experience before we received the data is even smaller. With this limited
knowledge we can find nothing that would prevent this weapon from working,
none of us could discover a flaw in your plan. Of course we don't even
have an inkling of where to start working toward the design." Hans told me.

"When I tell the drones they will be able to query all Alien science for
deal killers. If they don't find any, I feel confident that we won't have
to worry with the details. If a project is feasible I will lobby for any
of you that want to participate to be able to." I told them and then
dismissed them for now.

"Scotty, please examine the details of our meeting now. After
considering what we talked about please check all Alien data that is denied
us for prohibitory information." I told him.

Scotty went silent for nearly four minutes. When he came back I knew
for sure that he was excited.

"Jack, you must let me inform the Aliens at once. If there is anything
that would preclude the building of this weapon, I cannot find it and I
assure you it is of vital concern to the Aliens. There is no way you could
have realized it from the data you had available but the weapon can be much
more devastating than you imagined." Scotty told me.

I gave him permission at once and then began wondering what could be
more devastating than a four thousand pound projectile, with maybe a small
nuke inside, traveling at near light speed. I assumed I would find out
later. Hell it was a good morning's work so I had Scotty put me out at the
ranch for lunch.

"Hey lover, whatcha been up to this morning." Nancy asked me when she
saw me shimmer into the kitchen.

"Oh, just saving the Alien's bacon according to Scotty." I told her,
puffing out my chest a little.

   "How?" Nancy wanted to know.

"I just told them how to make a cannon that could shoot nuclear bullets
at light speed into the bandits that have been causing them the trouble
lately." I said as if it was nothing.

Actually it was nothing to me. It had just been a thought that popped
into my head while talking to Scotty. Apparently Scotty thought it was
something though.

"Well I hope they appreciate it. It isn't like they could give us
anything more for it though. I can't even think of a thing I want or want
done that I can't have in just a few seconds." Nancy said.

"I'm afraid you're right. I can't even imagine anything else that they
could do for us, unless they can bring a few people back from the dead. In
fact I can't even think of anyone I'd want back, there probably are some
though. Anyway I don't think that even the Aliens can do that." I
lamented.

"Maybe they'll tell us more about how things work." Nancy said.

"They'll probably let us in on the space travel now at least. Unless
they find a snag in my idea that Scotty didn't." I told her.

"Well we can always hope, I don't know if I want to go space traveling
though." Nancy said.

"It might not be bad to have a little ship to take a spin around the
moon or Mars or something." I said.

   "Well maybe." Nancy hedged.

"Jack I have communicated with the Aliens. The research vessel will be
back within twenty-four hours." Scotty spoke up.

"I guess they think it might work then." I said.

"They knew at once that it would work." Scotty told me.

"Wonder why they didn't think of it themselves?" I asked.

"It is similar to the virus and your communication with it. They should
have known and actually were aware of all the facts; they just didn't
consider a projectile weapon at all. In their defense they haven't used
such a weapon in over eight billion years." Scotty said.

"Sometimes the old fashioned way is best." I told him and nearly laughed
at it.

"Are they gonna give us a little bonus for this Scotty?" Nancy asked
him.

He must have had to look it up because it took him nearly two seconds to
answer.

"Bonus? I'm afraid you don't fully understand the magnitude of this.
They will give you planets if you want them; Solar Systems. They will give
you probably anything you can imagine. They will put teams of scientist
into research groups to help you think of things that you want. If there
really were a triple-breasted whore of Eroticon 6 she would be on her way
to you now to be Jack's personal dick attendant for life as a token of the
Alien's gratitude." Scotty said.

Nancy was shocked and frankly so was I. I had no idea a little cannon
could cause such a stir.

"What's so important about a cannon Scotty?" I asked.

"It is more than a cannon Jack but you are correct that it is exactly a
cannon. What is so important is that there are now over one hundred
thousand of our best researchers trying to think of a way of defending
against it. Currently we would have no defense. No shield that has ever
been constructed could stop it. The cannon, when fired from real space,
can deploy a projectile as massive as four thousand pounds, every
twenty-two seconds. The main constraints are the recoil while in real
space. If fired from a vessel, traveling faster than light, into real
space the rate of fire can increase to one projectile per second.

"Firing from real space into the other dimension, a projectile can be
maintained in faster than light speed for slightly over a parsec, and it
can be decelerated and allowed to return to real space within a mile of the
intended target. This will leave the target about one 185,000th of a
second to realize that there is an incoming round. They will in essence be
destroyed before they even realize that they are under attack. The impact
of a four thousand pound projectile at that speed will deliver
approximately 8.14e19 joules of energy upon impact, or in other terms 19487
megatons." Scotty told me.

Hell even I was impressed and I'd thought it up. I'd had no idea that
they could even fire it during faster than light travel and it turned out
that they could do it even better that way. I couldn't even imagine the
effect of a strafing run by a faster than light vessel using a cannon that
could fire two ton bullets at a rate of one per second.

"Scotty what does the velocity do to the mass of the projectile. Unless
I missed it somewhere we mostly assumed that mass increased with velocity,
I think." I asked him.

"That is partially correct Jack; however, it is not relevant to a mass
which is entering this dimension at near light speed and decelerating.
Remember that in either case the projectile achieves its velocity in
another dimension, even when it is fired from your space-time it is ejected
into the other dimension to attain its velocity when it re-enters your
space-time. Its mass is unchanged and surprisingly it conforms rather
closely to Newtonian laws of physics." Scotty told me.

   "I see." I said though I didn't really.

I'm sure some of the three thousand or so that were in the meeting might
be able to understand everything that meant but I knew that I didn't. Time
for me to change the subject.

"How is the research vessel getting back so soon Scotty? I guess they
weren't as far away this time." I said.

"They were farther away, they just started more promptly this time and
they are also traveling with all available power." He told me.

   "What's the rush?" I asked.

"That isn't even the rush Jack. There are seven StarCruisers headed
here. The one that was closest was ordered to come at full emergency power
without consideration to any damage it might do to his ability to generate
power. They want him to arrive faster even if he can't fire when he gets
here. His ship is to be here just for the effect its presence will have.
There will be another one within an hour of his arrival and it will be
fully functional when it arrives. The other five will all arrive within
six hours." Scotty said and I could have sworn he was boasting.

"Damn Scotty, I don't understand all that. What is the rush?" I asked
again.

"The Aliens intend to do everything in their power to protect this
discovery you have made. They don't intend to leave anything to chance. I
might as well tell you Jack that the Aliens now consider you the most
important asset in this universe." Scotty said.

I was stunned and I had to sit down, Nancy sat beside me.

"There will be thirty StarCruisers in your Galaxy, searching under every
rock on every planet to make sure that you are not disturbed, from now on.
I have been ordered to reveal any data to you that the Aliens have. Twelve
more drones will be placed in this system for defense and for your use. If
you want more all you have to do is ask.

"I heard your conversation with Nancy and the Aliens instructed me to
tell you that they are sorry they do not have the ability to restore any of
the terminated. If you wish it we are to reclaim all the remains and
insure they deteriorate no further. A research project will be started to
examine the possibility of restoring them." Scotty told me.

That sounded good but I didn't think that it was right. I don't know
who I thought I was to decide but I did anyway.

"That won't be necessary Scotty. I think that we should let the dead
rest in peace." I told him.

"He's right Scotty, it sounded like a good idea but I don't really think
that it would have been." Nancy said in agreement.
