In deference to short pieces, to Suki's images from when I was first

He was crying.

She sat next to him, "What is wrong?"

"I'm so sorry, so sorry, so sorry," he repeated over and over.

"For what, hon? Not for the wonderful come, I hope," she joked.

He bawled and pointed at her bruises.  "My mom called them trophies,"
he said.  Uncontrollable sobs racked through him.  She put her arms around
him, and rocked him, pulling his head to her breasts, smoothing his hair.
"When he beat her," he whispered.

"Shhh, shhh," she said, rocking him back and forth, trying to comfort him.
