Hammon Wry's  Words of the Day for Monday March 10, 2003
Note: Due to copyright laws, I am hesitant to include the definitions
and pronunciations of the words of the day.  I have provided the
websites for each so that you can look up the words for yourself.  

Dictionary.com provides a free utility call "Clever Keys" that allows
you to highlight an unknown word, hit CTRL+L, and it will take you to

This is an excersize in writing discipline.  I am trying to get into
the habit of writing something every day.  I figure if I use the words
of the day from two sources in a sexual context, I will have
inspiration and motivation.

I stood up from our bed, and gathered my sketching tools from the
desk.  A cool breeze lifted the curtains, cooling my body.  Silently,
I turned the chair around to face the bed.  With care, I turned the
pages of the sketchpad, and putting the charcoal stick to it, began to
limn the scene before me.  

She lay dozing on her side, her hip a gentle hill above the plains of
sheets beneath her.  Her top leg was drawn up against the other, and
her lower arm extended above her head beneath her ear.  Her upper arm
fell below her breasts which in turn listed downward with gravity's
pull.  Her face was clement, calm in sleep.  

The sound of the charcoal was a mere murmur against the newsprint.  As
I traced her lines, I thought of how they had felt beneath my fingers
a scant two hours ago.  We had fallen asleep in each other's arms
afterwards.  An errant breeze must have caressed her just as I drew
her nipples, and they puckered.  I smiled at the synchronicity. 

As I was finishing, her eyes opened, and she blinked awake enough to
see what I was doing.  
"Are you drawing me?"   
I nodded.  
"May I see?"
I added a few more strokes, and turned the notebook toward her.  I had
just enough time to duck the pillow that she hurled at me when she saw
the mustache and beard I had added!
