Introduction to "Reversion"

Timothy Kimball, physicist and Nobel laureate, at age 67 is in 
pain and only too aware of death's approach.  In desperation he 
submits himself to his own untested invention and transports his 
personality to a nearly identical alternate universe, where the 
adult mind merges with the immature mind of his own body at age 
twelve.

He encounters amazing sexual opportunities, as an astonished FBI 
official notes: "God! You must find it easy to have your way with 
kids, hiding in that boyish disguise.  You know right off which 
girls are curious and can be sweet-talked and which ones are lost 
causes.  You can also spot the older girls and women who want to 
play with you as a live doll."

But that is merely recreation.  Using his own knowledge plus that 
of the two women who follow him, Tim brings techniques of the 
24th Century to fruition in the 20th with a plan to save the 
world from the Calamity of the 22nd.  He also beats NASA to the 
Moon.

"Reversion" is a novel about a peculiar form of time travel, 
containing 21 chapters and 207,700 words


Pedo Note:

Some of the sexual participants in this tale have children's 
bodies initially, but is pedophilia a phenomenon of the body or 
of the mind?


Historical Note:

On October 28, 1998, Varangian published in ASS a story of 2200 
words entitled, "Other (pubescent kids)," having the essential 
plot device of "Reversion," depicting a 62-year-old mind returned 
to its own 12-year-old body.  Later, on May 21, 1999, Al Steiner 
began the publication in ASS, updated weekly, of what would 
become a full-blown novel of 17 chapters entitled "Doing It All 
Over," based essentially on the same plot device: in his case a 
32-year-old mind returned to a 15-year-old body.  I am not aware 
of any other erotic fiction based on that theme, though I'm sure 
this is more a reflection on my poor research than on the wistful 
imaginations of old men.  I do know that any attempt to treat it 
without significant eroticism would perhaps be interesting but 
hardly complete.
