CHAPTER 3

After the boys had said their good nights and left 
Kelly and Lisa said they would turn in as well, 
"Would you come and kiss us good night please 
Daddy" said Lisa as they stood at the door. I 
smiled and said "Five minutes do you?" they nodded 
and walked out leaving Jenny and I alone again, 
"That was a pretty sneaky remark Jack darling, 
about the sound proofing I mean" Jenny said as she 
lay her head on my lap and looked up at me. "I know 
darling, I didn't mean to say it, I was thinking 
aloud. The thing is, it seems that Lisa said much 
the same thing to John a little earlier, that 
reminded him of the noise he made, that's why he 
blushed." Jenny smiled "The girls did enjoy 
themselves though didn't they darling, you were 
correct about them being scared of your reactions, 
it seems you scare a number of people, like those 
two the girls threw out of their last party, at 
least that's what John and Mark have told Kelly and 
Lisa." I bent down and kissed Jenny tenderly "But 
I'm just a pussy cat my love, you know that" I said 
sweetly, "And I have to go and put three little 
girls to bed so they don't have bad dreams. Are you 
staying up a little longer or going to bed now?" 
Jenny pulled herself up and kissed me "I'll be in 
bed waiting for you my love, try not to be too long 
with the girls." 
"Come in Daddy" called Kelly as I knocked on the 
girls bedroom door, and as I entered the room I saw 
Kelly and Lisa sitting, naked, on Sue's bed talking 
quietly. I stood there for a second then as I took 
a step to walk over to them Lisa stood up and threw 
herself into my arms, "Thank you Daddy darling, 
that was the best idea anyone ever had, I had a 
wonderful evening and just hope the next one is 
half as good." Having her naked body pressed to me 
did wonders for my erection, it almost ripped my 
pants as Lisa pressed her hips to mine. I cupped

you girls?" Lisa and Susan both shook their heads 
"I'll always need you Daddy" said Sue "After all I 
don't have a boyfriend to bring home just yet, at 
least not one I want to have sex with. I might just 
make out while watching TV or something. If I get a 
free evening that is?" and she looked daggers at 
Kelly and Lisa who just sat and giggled. "Come on 
girls, let's have you in bed please.." "Ohh yes 
please Daddy, all of us at once?" cried out Sue as 
she slipped down under the covers. I leapt on her 
and tried to tickle her, then decided to kiss her 
instead, "Good night darling" I said "I love you 
loads and loads you know" I said softly as she put 
her arms round my neck. "I love you too Daddy, more 
than I can ever say" she replied as I pulled the 
sheet up to her chin and tucked her in tight. I 
went over to where Lisa lay with her sheet sitting 
just below her naked breasts and sat on the edge of 
her bed "Got him convinced I'm not an ogre now 
darling?" I asked then bent down to kiss her 
breasts one by one. "Hnnn.. yes Daddy, but he still 
can't get over how cool you are about me having sex 
in the house and you not getting angry about it. 
He'll get used to it given time. But it was a 
wonderful idea Daddy and I really appreciate what 
you did for me." I kissed her lovingly and covered

"Did you have a nice long chat about last night 
darling?" I asked her as I held her firm warm

he want's to come round again to repeat it over and 
over again. I told him not to be greedy and wait 
'til he's asked. That cooled his ardour somewhat." 
After tucking Kelly in I got up and said "Good 
night darlings, sweet dreams" and extinguished the 
main light and closed the door.


At breakfast next morning Jenny and I were non too 
bright having spent most of the night making love 
over and over again. It seemed that the noise made 
by Lisa and John had really got her juices flowing 
and her memory well and truly jogged remembering 
the times she'd seduced a boy at home when her 
parents had been out visiting friends. As I sat 
drinking my third cup of coffee I reminded the 
girls they should make no plans for the next day, 
Saturday. "Why not Daddy" asked Sue, "Because we 
have fittings for dresses for the wedding in the 
morning, and a first rehearsal for the wedding in 
the afternoon, that's why Susan my love" said 
Jenny. All the girls gasped, they had all forgotten 
about that in the excitement of the week, "That 
reminds me Mom" said Lisa "Kelly and I will be home 
late, we have a play rehearsal this evening that 
goes on 'til after six thirty. We won't want 
dinner, we can stop off and get a burger or 
something on the way home. And we'll be walking 
because Uncle Dave is having the car serviced 
today. That reminds me Daddy, could you give us a 
lift to class please?" I got to work early that 
morning and managed to catch up on some paperwork 
before attending my usual Friday meetings. Jenny, 
Sue and I had finished dinner and were sitting 
together on the sofa in the Den when at about eight 
thirty the phone went and a minute or two later I 
was putting my coat on and running out to get the 
car out of the garage to drive to police 
headquarters and collect Kelly and Lisa. 
At about quarter to seven Kelly and Lisa left the 
campus grounds and headed for the nearest burger 
joint. They were hungry and thirsty after so much 
exercise and talking at rehearsals. They sat at a 
table and waited for a waitress to come over when 
three leather jacketed youths walked in, came over 
to the girls and started to proposition them. Kelly 
and Lisa gave them the cold shoulder treatment and 
ignored them as they ordered their burger and 
fries. The waitress took their order and as she 
passed it over the counter she said something to 
the manager. A few minutes later he brought the 
girls order over personally and as he put the 
plates down he said quietly "There you are girls, 
and it's on the house now I see who you are." The 
girls blushed prettily, said a nice thank you and 
tucked into their food, a few minutes later the 
waitress brought the youths their order and placed 
their bill on the table. "Huh, why can't we have a 
meal on the house the same as these two sluts" one 
said in a loud voice, "Is the boss fucking them 
every night or something?" Kelly was about to get 
up when the manager came over and said "If you 
three are still sitting there in two minutes I call 
the cops, now get out and stop insulting my 
customers." He was a pretty big guy and the three 
youths decided to do as he said and left, muttering 
threats to all and sundry. After apologising to the 
girls the manager walked over to the door and 
watched as the three walked out of sight then went 
back to stand behind the counter. Kelly and Lisa 
finished eating and got up to leave, going over to 
thank the manager for what he did, "That's all 
right girls, I told all my girls to look out for 
your pins, Jackie was more than pleased to be the 
first one to spot who you were, and I was more than 
pleased to be allowed to show my appreciation for 
the example you've been showing my kids. Come in 
again and you get the same service." As the girls 
walked out of the restaurant Kelly said "Derek was 
right about wearing these pins, even if it is only 
a burger and fries, it's still nice to get treated 
like that". A few minutes later they were walking 
across the Green, it being the shortest way home 
when they were both grabbed from behind and 
realised they had been caught by the three guys 
from the burger bar. As the girls were held by one 
each the third guy went and stood in front of Kelly 
and, seeing her gold pin ripped it off her shirt, 
tearing it open and baring her bra covered breasts. 
"Hey guys these pins look like gold, we should get 
a good bit for them when we finish with these two " 
the guy holding Lisa was squeezing her breasts hard 
enough to make her groan and she heard him chuckle 
as he squeezed harder. 


Suddenly Lisa heard Kelly shout "Shins" and 
remembered what Mark had taught them about an 
attack from the rear. Trying to ignore the pain in 
her breasts Lisa lifted her right foot and moved it 
back 'til she felt her attackers leg then raked the 
heel of her shoe down his shin. As she heard him 
scream as her steel tipped shoe heel caused him 
some agony Lisa then stamped hard on his right 
instep, this made him relax his grip on her breasts 
and she twisted round and pushed herself away from 
him, swinging her arm round aiming the edge of her 
hand at his throat to try to disable him a little 
more. Unfortunately she missed the guys throat, not 
that he was at all happy about it, because he had 
bent his head down as he stepped back and Lisa's 
hand caught him on his top lip and under his nose. 
As Lisa yelled and shook her hand with the pain of 
hitting bone instead of a soft throat the guy she 
hit screamed out loud and collapsed on the floor as 
his brain seemed to explode inside his head. With 
her attacker down Lisa turned to where Kelly was 
being assaulted by two guys, to find one on his 
knees groaning in agony as he clutched his groin, 
and the other one ripping Kelly's clothes off as 
her wrestled with her on the ground. Lisa calmly 
stepped up behind him and swung her leather shoe 
clad foot between his thighs from the rear. The 
power of her kick and the reaction of his body as 
it tried to get away from the source of pain lifted 
him a foot off the ground to land on his face 
beside Kelly. As Kelly struggled to her feet Lisa 
gave the guy on the ground in front of them another 
good hard kick in the groin then went over to the 
one Kelly had kicked first and kicked him in the 
face to make sure he stayed down. By this time all 
the screaming the attackers were doing had 
attracted a small crowd, and they soon heard the 
wail of a police siren. By the time the paramedics 
had arrived the police presence had increased to 
three cars and six officers who soon dispersed the 
crowd after taking details of any that witnessed 
anything, they then began to ask Kelly and Lisa 
what had happened. As Kelly was saying that one had 
ripped her pin off her a paramedic called one of 
the cops over and showed him the guys hand. It 
seems that as he got kicked by Kelly he had 
clutched his hand tight and the point of the pin 
had jabbed right through his palm. "I guess that 
proves he tried to steal your pin young lady, but 
who beat them up like this?" Kelly and Lisa looked 
at each other in disbelief. "What do you mean, who 
beat them up. We defended ourselves as best we 
could, and if that means we hurt them it isn't our 
fault. Now if you have anything else to say can we 
please get somewhere a little more private, I'm 
almost naked" said Kelly as she clutched her 
tattered shirt to cover herself as best she could. 
The senior officer present put then in his car and 
drove them to police headquarters where they were 
placed in an interview room. After a few minutes a 
woman police officer came in and asked if there was 
anything they needed. "Yes, a telephone to call my 
step father" said Lisa firmly and ten minutes later 
I was sitting with them asking why they were being 
held there and not sent home. "They're staying here 
until we find out who beat up those three guys we 
found on the floor when we arrived. Your girls 
refuse to say who did it so we're holding them 'til 
they do." I stood up, kissed them both and said 
"Hold on for a few minutes darlings, I'll just call 
Derek and see what he says". 
A few minutes later I had Derek on the phone, 
"Sorry to call you about work Derek, but Kelly and 
Lisa won't be able to come to the rehearsal 
tomorrow, they're being held by the police for 
attacking three youths and hospitalising them. 
Would Doreen be able to act as their lawyer 
please?" in as few words as I could I explained 
what Kelly and Lisa had told me happened, "The 
trouble is this stupid cop won't believe them, he 
insists they had at least three guys helping them 
and won't release them 'til they say who it was." 
By the time Derek and Doreen had got the girls 
released a reporter had got wind of the incident 
and remembered the last time he'd heard the girls 
names so called his paper for a photographer to get 
there fast. Just as we walked out of police 
headquarters with Kelly covered by my jacket we 
walked into a hornets nest of flashbulbs and 
shouted questions. 


Doreen held up her hands for silence and said "I 
can say nothing except my clients are to be 
prosecuted for injuring three youths that attacked 
them and attempted to steal a gold pin as well as 
rape them. That is all I can say at the moment." 
One reporter pushed forward and shouted "Was the 
gold pin in the shape of two 'A's with wings?" 
Doreen smiled, "I suppose I can say yes to that 
question" she said. "That means that these girls 
are two of the so called Avenging Angels, that 
caught a gunman trying to rape their sister." 
Doreen nodded "Again I can see no harm in 
confirming that, after all it is a matter of public 
record." Once more the same reporter said "So the 
police arrested them for protecting themselves, can 
we get a picture of their torn clothing please, 
it's going to look good on the front page." Doreen 
turned to Kelly and Lisa and said quietly "How 
about it girls, it can only help in the long run, 
especially as the police refused to take pictures 
of the state you're in." With that Kelly shrugged 
off my jacket and held as much of her shirt as she 
could over her ripped bra, and Lisa did the same 
while what seemed like hundreds of cameras clicked 
and flashed. By the time we got home reaction was 
beginning to set in with the girls and as soon as I 
had sat them down in the Den and asked Jenny to 
make some coffee they both collapsed into my arms 
and began to sob uncontrollably. Jenny and Doreen 
came in with the drinks and just sat quietly while 
the girls cried themselves out on my chest as I 
tenderly caressed their backs and kept murmuring 
that it was all over and they were safe. In the end 
they both sat up and, seeing Doreen sitting there 
apologised for being so silly, only to be told that 
they weren't silly, just the opposite. "I've seen 
older women handle something like this with a lot 
less courage than you two have" said Doreen as 
Jenny handed the girls cups of brandy laced coffee, 
"Now, tell me again what happened so I can get it 
all on tape and have it typed up in the morning." 
Once more the girls described what happened and I 
saw Doreen grin as she heard how Lisa had got the 
one guy off Kelly, then made sure he didn't get up. 
"OK girls, I think that's enough for now. I'll get 
things moving in the morning and see you again on 
Monday when I hope we can get this in front of a 
judge to keep the police off your backs. By the way 
will you be coming to the rehearsal?" the girls 
grinned "Of course we will, we're not hurt, and 
will be OK after a good nights sleep. We're not 
going to miss getting measured for our dresses just 
because we've had our clothes torn" said Lisa with 
a smile. Once more Doreen shook her head and as I 
escorted her to the door she said quietly "Jack, 
those girls are wonders, you wouldn't think that a 
couple of hours ago they were being attacked. I 
just hope the newspapers tell the correct story in 
the morning." Fortunately all but one did get the 
story substantially correct. And all but one 
slammed the police for accusing the girls of having 
a number of male accomplices when there was no 
witnesses or evidence to suggest there was. As 
might be expected the morning started with calls 
from all sorts of people and once more we agreed to 
give an interview to the same reporter that covered 
the first story, but only after we had contacted 
Doreen and agreed she would be present. "Sorry guys 
we can't do it this weekend, the girls are getting 
measured for new dressed for a wedding this morning 
and are attending a rehearsal this afternoon. We 
can fit you in on Monday if you like." I said and 
promised not to speak to other publications 'til 
then. In the evening when we returned from Derek 
and Doreen's we found Mark and John sitting in 
their cars waiting for us, both were very concerned 
about what they had read and wanted to know what 
actually occurred and who did it. Jenny and Susan 
went into the kitchen to fix a quick salad for 
dinner while Kelly and Lisa took the boys into the 
parlour to relate what had happened and what seemed 
to going to happen. I was a little surprised when 
they came out. I'd expected Mark and John to be 
raving mad, but the girls seemed to have calmed 
them down so they could sit down with us and eat 
dinner.


After dinner I asked Mark and John to join me in 
the Den and asked Kelly to bring us a few beers. 
When we were sat down and sipping our drinks I said 
"Guys, I know how you must feel about what 
happened, I feel it much more than you, believe me. 
I would just ask that you allow me to bring the 
full force of the law on these three, not because 
of what they did, but because the girls have been 
accused of assault by the police. I'm aware of what 
happened with Mark Anderson..." and here they both 
had the good grace to blush, "and I'd like to see 
these three get the same, but not until after we've 
cleared the girls of the assault charges and 
received an apology from the officers concerned. We 
have an advantage in that Lisa's aunt's future 
father in law is on the DA's staff and is looking 
into the matter. His wife is also a top notch 
lawyer, and she's representing them. So you can see 
that any direct action just now won't help." Both 
lads sat quietly for a bit so I added "Oh and by 
the way, congratulations on teaching the girls to 
defend themselves, they seem to have managed quite 
well. I'll recommend you to all my friends and 
their wives and daughters if you like." We were 
laughing at the implication of what I'd said when 
the girls came in. "What's this Daddy, I expected 
you to be fighting to make then keep their hands 
off those three bast.... Sorry Daddy, those three 
miscreants, and here we find you laughing at some 
joke or other." Said Lisa as she went to sit on 
John's lap while Kelly sat with Mark and Sue came 
and sat on my lap and put her arms round my neck. 
"Oh, there was one thing Jack" said Mark "What's 
happening about last week at the club. I told my 
Dad what happened and he wanted to go and see a 
lawyer to take action. I told him you were handling 
it and would let us know when you had something to 
tell us." I told him what Derek had explained to 
me, "All we can do now is wait for the papers to 
work their way to the top of the pile, then be 
ready to jump. I'll let you know when that is. 
There is always the chance they'll try to settle 
out of court with an apology and a token payment. I 
told Derek we didn't like that option and wanted it 
made public so there could be no dirt sticking to 
any of us." "OK thanks, I'll tell my Dad, and get 
him to talk to you if needs be." 
Just before the lads were due to go I saw Kelly 
giving Mark a nudge as if to tell him to say 
something, and I saw him shrug his shoulder as he 
looked over at where Sue was still sitting on my 
lap so I turned and whispered very quietly to Sue 
"Sue darling, could you leave us alone for a couple 
of minutes please I want to say something private 
to Mark and John." She smiled kissed me and said 
"Excuse me folks I have to go and speak to Mom for 
a minute" and she bounced out of the room without 
looking back. As soon as she'd gone Kelly gave Mark 
another prod, "Might as well get it over Mark, 
otherwise she'll be sending you home covered in 
bruises" I said with a smile, "I'm sorry Jack, it's 
not really Kelly, it's me, and I suppose John as 
well. To be honest we still can't believe what 
happened over the past couple of evenings. I guess 
we're still not certain that you and Mrs. Bowman 
are so... laid back about what you must know was 
happening when the girls and we were alone. I mean 
it's not normal." Kelly and Lisa just sat there and 
smiled at me, saying nothing, "Mark, how old are 
Kelly and Lisa?" I asked, he frowned for a moment 
then said "Almost twenty." "And do you think they 
know their own minds and also what they want and 
how to get it?" I continued. Mark grinned "And 
how!" he said with a big grin. I shrugged and said 
"You just answered any questions you may have. 
They're big girls, at least during the day. At 
night they lose ten years, but that's another 
matter.." I lifted my arms to fend off the cushions 
aimed at my head by the girls, "that's another 
matter I will have to tell you about some time. But 
seriously guys, all you have to do is treat them 
right and I'll treat you like adults. Just try not 
to let me down, or you'll be letting yourselves 
down even more." Both lads looked up to the girl 
sitting on his lap and smiled. Kelly said to Mark 
"I told you so, he's the best person I know Mark, 
and I trust him more than anyone I know. Just 
remember that if ever you're in a jam." 


The kids spent half an hour on the front porch 
saying good night and when the girls eventually 
came in they came up to me and hugged me. "Thanks 
Daddy, that was so good of you, they both feel 
better now they know you and Mom are OK with us 
using the parlour" said Lisa. "They even agreed to 
us all being in there together one night. That 
should be very interesting, what say Kel'?" Kelly 
nodded and said quietly "Yeah, but let's not put 
them off too soon Lis', we've only just got them, 
although Mark did react when I mentioned he might 
get a look at your naked butt." Lisa gave Kelly a 
friendly pat on the bottom then looked up at me 
"Daddy, will you give me a nice long kiss and 
cuddle tonight when you tuck us in please, I feel 
so scared after last night I need your strong arms 
round me for a while." I gave her a quick kiss and 
said OK, then sent them up to bed. When I went into 
the kitchen to get a drink I saw Jenny had beaten 
me to it, so we ended up sitting beside each other 
while I told her what Lisa had just said. Jenny 
gave a nod of her head "I'm not surprised Jack 
darling, after all it was a very traumatic 
experience for an adult, let alone a girl. I'm 
surprised they've held up this long without showing 
any signs of stress. How do you feel about having 
them in bed with us tonight, just for comfort?" I 
shook my head, "That wouldn't be fair on Sue 
darling, how about we have all three of them in. 
Kelly and Lisa each side of me, and Sue beside you 
and one of the girls, it'll be a bit tight but we 
will be very close all night?" Jenny chuckled then 
nodded, "Will you tell them or shall I?" she asked 
as we got up. "I will if you like, you go and 
reserve your space before we get invaded." With 
that Jenny kissed me and we walked up stairs 
together separating at the girls bedroom door. I 
knocked and Sue called for me to come in, just as 
Lisa was bending over to take off her panties. She 
stood up and smiled at Sue as she said "You wait 
Sis, I'll get you back for that, you could have got 
me a spanking for showing Daddy my butt like that." 
Sue just grinned as she snuggled down under the 
covers. "Right girls, I'm sorry I can't come and 
give you the cuddle you wanted" and I saw their 
faces drop and a tear suddenly form in the corner 
of Lisa's eye. "If you let me finish Lisa darling, 
I can't come in here and give you the cuddle you 
wanted, your Mom says for all of you to come and 
get one in our bed, and I do mean all three of you. 
Now put out your light and come with me." Naked as 
Kelly and Lisa were they followed me, leaving Sue 
to put out the light and close the door and come 
along behind. I told Lisa to get into bed first, 
then I followed with Kelly laying on the outside, 
Jenny was already there and lay beside Lisa while 
Sue got in on the other side of her mother. I was 
right, it was cramped, and we were laying very 
close together, but once Kelly and Lisa had turned 
on their sides and wrapped a leg over my thigh 
Jenny and Susan had a little more space to lay in. 
Almost as soon as Kelly and Lisa were laying in my 
arms they each gave a deep sigh and went to sleep 
immediately. "Cripes" said Sue, "They went to sleep 
quick, not like last night, they both had bad 
dreams I think." Jenny gave her baby daughter a hug 
"That's why Daddy said they should come and sleep 
with him darling, we know they must be having bad 
dreams after what happened to them both the other 
evening, you know what it's like. They're just so 
lucky to have Daddy here now to make their monsters 
go away." Sue frowned as she chased a thought round 
her head, "I hope their monsters aren't so bad as 
mine were Mom, it was horrible 'til Daddy made them 
go away. If Daddy has to spend a lot of time with 
them I'll understand mom, and I won't get jealous I 
promise. And if I can help just let me know and I 
will, I hate it when people get hurt this way, it's 
worse than being hit or kicked because this sort of 
pain doesn't go away like a bump or bruise, it just 
stays buried in your head and pops out when you 
don't want it to." I heard Jenny kiss Sue and say 
quietly "Thank you darling, that's a very grown up 
thing to say and do. I'll tell the girls in the 
morning what you said." "Oh no Mom, please don't 
tell them I don't want them to make a silly fuss of 
me for something so simple." I heard Jenny promise 
to keep quiet, then fell asleep, only waking up 
once when I felt Kelly trembling and murmuring 
"Help me Daddy, please help me." 


I kissed Kelly tenderly and hugged her a little 
tighter until she quietened down and her breathing 
had returned to normal, then dropped off again to 
be awakened by the feel of two pairs of lips 
working their way across my face. "Did you both

general mix of members present, with Mark and John

getting attacked and now being charged with assault 
because they beat off their attackers and put them

Kelly and Lisa laid them out and frowned when he 
heard how the girls had been held in custody for

can't protect themselves from rapists and thieves, 
but could go to prison because they hurt their

been there to help." Ben shook his head, "I agree 
Susan, it's a really rotten bit of luck, let me see

me a hearing had been set for Tuesday morning and I

hospital. See you in court Jack" and she rang off

said to me, "I've had enough of this, lets have

paper to Doreen who looked at it, turned to Derek

asked if she could approach the bench, then handed 
the judge the papers Derek had given her and spoke 
in very quiet tones for some time before the Judge 
called the opposing lawyer to speak to him. "Mister 
Saunders, it seems your clients have discharged 
themselves from hospital, and were then apprehended 
by the police as they tried to board a bus about to 
leave town. The police apparently have received a 
large number of calls from members of the public 
who saw the report of the incident in question in 
the newspapers and volunteered themselves as 
witness to the event. Apparently they all say that 
the girls were alone, and did indeed disable your 
clients by their own efforts, and before any of the 
witnesses could get close enough to assist. As a 
consequence your clients have now been taken into 
custody on charges of attempted rape and robbery 
with violence. It appears that one of your clients 
ripped a very special pin from a blouse, saying 
he would get a lot of money for it after they had 
raped the girls. Do you know what that pin was 
Mister Saunders?" Doreen went quickly over to Lisa 
and asked for her pin and took it to the Judge, 
"Mister Saunders your client tried to steal a pin 
identical to this one. One of only four in

the hospital." Saunders just shook his head, "But 
your honour I didn't know all this, my clients must 
have lied to me when they asked me to represent

police never told me about them." The Judge scowled 
at him, "Did you ask?" Saunders shook his head, 
"Did you know who it was that your clients were 
attacked by. Did you ask the police for that 
information?" Saunders nodded his head silently, 
and the Judge continued "And were you aware that 
the step father of one and the Uncle of the other 
was in the process of taking legal action against 
you on behalf of himself, these two girls and a 
number of their friends and acquaintances in the 
matter of slander and defamation of character?" 
again Saunders nodded silently then turned very 
pale as the Judge said very quietly "Mister 
Saunders I think you might ask to withdraw your 
charges against these girls then go and speak to 
your associates while I prepare a report for the 
Bar Association about your conduct." After a few 
well chosen words by Saunders' associate the Judge 
said in a loud voice "The charges being withdrawn 
and there being no case to answer the accused are 
free to go" and banged his gavel hard on it's base. 
As we all gathered around Doreen and the girls I 
saw Sue stand back then walk over to someone 
talking to Derek at the back of the courtroom. As 
she reached them Sue reached up and kissed the

least I assume it was you that did something about

that the officer that withheld the information on

Sue grimaced "I suppose this is my fault then, Ben, 
after all he did say he would get me for making him

won't bother any of you again, at least not if he 
has any sense, or desire to continue on the force."

cameramen waiting outside and a loud cheer went up 
as Kelly and Lisa appeared on the steps. Once again 
Doreen gave a statement to the press saying 'it was 
a vindictive policeman withholding evidence that

do it, Mom?" her mother smiled lovingly "Jenny my 
love, after what Jack did for Sandi I can think of 
no one better fitted to act in place of her father, 
and I know your father would agree with me, let's 
tell him shall we". An hour later I had the unusual

to Richard then stood back. Simple, but it really

'Mike' shrugged and said "So, what's that got to do 
with me?" again Ben chuckled "Well Mike, you've 
just been overpowered by two of them, your boss Mr. 
Saunders has been trying to discredit their father 
Jack Bowman, so he can't sue Saunders for a 
million dollars, now you're going to take the rap 
and go down for a long time. You see 'Mike', the 
Avenging Angels are very popular in this town, not 
just with the people, but with the legal profession 
right up to the judges, with whom they are very 
friendly. You know how all the best people need 
powerful friends like judges, don't you Mike?" 
'Mike' nodded, "So I get a couple of months for a 
minor firearms offence..." he paused as Ben grinned 
and shook his head, "No Mike, remember I told you 
that two of the girls overpowered three youths 
trying to rob and rape them, they got ten years 
each, and they didn't use a gun. You did. The 
gunman they overpowered, he got fifty to life, but 
then he actually wounded Jack Bowman as the girls 
disarmed him. To be honest 'Mike' even with the 
best will in the world I don't think your Mr. 
Saunders will be able to save your butt from going 
down for at least ten years. You see one of those 
girls you just held up with a gun is related to 
one of our assistant district attorneys." The car 
stopped in the police compound and Ben and his 
partner escorted 'Mike' to an interview room where 
he was read his rights and offered the choice of 
making a written confession or calling his 
attorney. "The thing is 'Mike', if you admit to 
being hired by a person connected with one or more 
of the people you were with when you pulled your 
weapon, I'm sure I'll be able to do a deal with the 
DA, if you like I'll call him now and see if it's 
on. Or do you want to call your lawyer, Mr. 
Saunders isn't it?" 'Mike' nodded then said in a 
quiet voice, "Are you serious about what you said 
about those girls?" Ben just smiled and opened the 
door, grabbing the first police officer, a woman as 
it happened, and said "Officer, this gentleman 
want's to know some of the things that the Avenging 
Angels have done, you see he just held them up with 
a gun." The woman officer laughed and said "What's 
that worth Ben, ten years, and that's with any 
judge, some would make it double that. Mister those 
girls make some cops look like sissies, they disarm 
gunmen, throw drunks out of parties, save girls 
from being raped, the last thing they did was 
disable three guys that tried to rob and rape them, 
have you got sore balls?" and she laughed again as 
he nodded. "Their trade make, a kick in the balls 
will put any man down, and they spread that message 
all over town mister. I'd say my prayers if I was 
you, you're as good as dead." 'Mike' sat in silence 
for a few minutes then looked at Ben, "OK, I'm 
convinced, if you get me a deal I'll give you 
Saunders, the bastard said I'd just be dealing with 
a few stupid kids and a guy lining his pocket from 
public funds. All I was supposed to do was get him 
to agree to set me up the same scam as he was 
operating so Saunders would have evidence to 
produce in court." Ben laughed, "Mike, Jack Bowman 
is so clean you could eat your dinner off him. He 
put hundreds of dollars into that club before 
anyone offered him public funds, he's also a 
partner in the business that owns the workshop you 
saw, and they take one dollar rent per year. Does 
that sound like an embezzler to you?" A shake of 
the head was all Ben got as he placed a sheaf of 
paper in front of 'Mike'. "OK, get writing, I'll go 
and see the DA and see about a deal, do you want a 
court appointed attorney, or Mister Saunders?" 
"Fuck Saunders" was all 'Mike' said as Ben left him 
alone with a uniformed officer.
I got a call from Doreen next day "Jack, how would 
you like to increase your damage claim to three 
million dollars?" she said. I laughed and said "OK 
Doreen, if you think it's worth a try, but isn't 
that getting a little bit greedy?" Doreen chuckled 
"Jack, with punitive damages greed doesn't come 
into it. When Saunders hired that guy to implicate 
you he put himself beyond the pale. Did you know 
Ben got a confession out of him within ten minutes 
of having him in custody. Saunders was implicated 
up to his neck, that guy called 'Mike' gets away 
with a couple of months for a minor firearms 
offence but we get Saunders served on a platter."


When the civil case came to court, Doreen having 
refused an out of court settlement, the evidence of 
'Mike' helped the judge agree to punitive damages 
of two million dollars. Saunders was also struck 
off and would never practice law again, and the 
firm he worked for suddenly found they had lost a 
lot of important clients. The money was divided up 
so that Mark and John and Paul got a quarter of a 
million placed in a trust fund they couldn't access 
'til they were 25, and the same happened with 
Kelly, Lisa and Susan, I had the remaining half 
million with which I took Derek and Doreen out to 
dinner with the rest of the family just to say 
thanks for the help they gave us. When the girls 
gave the inevitable interview to our favourite 
reporter, who once more got an Avenging Angels 
scoop the headline ran, 'I HATE MEN WITH GUNS', and 
centred on what Lisa had said as she kicked 'Mike' 
when he was laying on the floor. Once again the 
girls were in the limelight for another nine days 
wonder story, and once again some benefit came from 
what happened. Mark was due to graduate at the end 
of the following month and had been looking round 
for a job. We were sitting in the club office on 
the last Sunday of June when Bill Hamilton was 
shown in by one of the younger members. After 
offering him a cup of coffee Mark was going to 
leave Bill and I to talk when Bill said "I want you 
to stay please Mark, what I'm going to say to Jack 
will directly affect you anyway, so would you 
please sit down." I tossed my head to ask the rest 
of the committee to leave for a few minutes then 
turned to Bill saying "OK Bill, I can see it must 
be important for you to throw the kids out of their 
own office, what's Mark supposed to have done that 
warrants this treatment?" I was getting a bit 
annoyed at Bills strange attitude and wanted to 
keep Mark out of any trouble that might be brewing. 
Bill chuckled "Sorry Jack, I didn't mean to be so 
rude, and I'm certainly not here to give Mark any 
trouble, just the opposite. I actually want to ask 
your opinion about his integrity and ability before 
I offer him a job as a trainee executive in my 
company. You see Jack, apart from the fact he has 
been publicly proven to be honest, you know him 
better than most people and I'd appreciate your 
views on the matter." Mark sat there totally 
dumbfounded as he realised what was being said, 
then as he went to speak, I shook my head and said 
to him, "I'd think hard before you went to work for 
this guy Mark, he drives a hard bargain, he's a 
slave driver and beats all his workers if they look 
like slacking off, on the other hand he does like 
Kelly and I know his wife has to keep her eyes on 
him when he comes round to our place so he doesn't 
run off with her." For one minute Mark thought I 
was serious then he saw that Bill was laughing. 
"Bill, I don't think you could have made a better 
choice, unless it had been John, they're both good 
workers, honest and reliable, and they can both 
think for themselves. It's a pity you only have one 
vacancy, but either way, you've made a good 
decision in asking Mark to join you." Mark blushed 
as he grasped what I was saying then turned to Bill 
and said "Mr. Hamilton, I'd love to work for you, 
if that was an offer of employment, and I don't 
mind being beaten, I've had enough practice with 
Jack over the past few months, you couldn't be any 
more of a slave driver then he is." As I got up to 
leave them to talk Bill said "Are you serious about 
John" I nodded, "Yes I am Bill, he's every bit as 
good as Mark, and I'd recommend him to any employer 
in any business context." Bill nodded his head, "OK 
let me talk to a friend of mine, I'll get back to 
you in a couple of days." Sure enough on Tuesday 
evening Bill rang to ask if I could have John at 
the club on Wednesday so he could introduce a 
friend of his. All I had to do was go to the 
parlour door and knock, Lisa called "Come in" and I 
opened the door to find Kelly and Lisa sitting on 
Mark and John's laps wrapped in each others arms, 
"Sorry to interrupt guys, John, could you meet me 
in the club office at seven tomorrow evening 
please, Bill Hamilton wants you to meet a friend of 
his" "Sure Jack. Do you think it might be about a 
job?" I nodded "I think so, just don't get too 
excited till you hear what's said, it might not be 
to your liking." "OK Jack, I'll be there, will you 
be there too, I could do with some moral support." I 
nodded, "I wouldn't miss it for the world John." 


It was a job offer, Bill told me afterwards that he 
had been talking to a few friends at a party on the 
previous Saturday when the friend he's brought 
along to see John had been complaining that most 
young graduates were educated but couldn't actually 
think for themselves. When Bill went back to him on 
Monday and offered him a young guy, just graduating 
from College that was also capable of 
independent thought he jumped at the chance of 
meeting him. "I suggested meeting here Jack, mainly 
because John might feel more relaxed, and Jerry 
could have a look at what Mark and John have been 
doing between them running the club" As we were 
leaving Jerry came up to me and said "I think I 
might be glad you mentioned this lad to Bill, he 
seems very bright and looks as if he's been a great 
help to you running the club," I laughed "Sorry 
Jerry I don't run the club, John and a few friends, 
including my daughters and a niece, do all the 
running, they make all the decisions, I just make 
sure they don't break the law, but I certainly have 
little to do with the committee meetings, 
purchasing, bill paying and general organisation. 
The kids do all that, as well as manage a hundred 
thousand dollar budget." Jerry stopped dead, "A 
hundred thousand dollar budget, where does that 
come from, come on Jack, you're kidding me, right?" 
shaking my head I called John and Bill over, "Bill 
do you remember the size of the budget we were 
allocated when we started the club?" Bill looked at 
me, then at Jerry and smiled, "Did Jack tell you it 
was a hundred thousand dollars Jerry?" Jerry 
nodded, "He was right, that's how much they started 
with, John, how much is left in the bank, not 
counting this months expenditure?" John thought for 
a moment, "I think it's about eighty six thousand 
dollars, but that includes monies allocated for 
George's salary, and utility charges." Jerry stood 
open mouthed as I turned to Bill and said softly "I 
told you he was good didn't I?" Bill smiled and 
nodded as Jerry said "Do you mean to tell me you 
set this club up, and run it for so little, and the 
kids running it knows what's in the bank. Does your 
accountant report to him or what?" Bill laughed 
again, he was having a fun day, "You have it the 
wrong way round Jerry, John runs the financial side 
of the club, he gives the accountant appointed by 
city hall a financial report at the end of each 
month, and yes, by the end of the year they will 
have used barely a quarter of the money allocated 
to them." Bill then went on and explained in some 
detail what the kids had done from the beginning, 
and what had been achieved because a couple of 
adults had shown faith in them, "Jerry, if Jack 
said he was running for Mayor all he would have to 
do is tell the young people of this city he wanted 
their support and he'd get it, and the support of 
the kids parents. That's one reason this club is 
left to run on it's own, without interference. For 
crying out loud even the cops support what's 
happening, when Jack's youngest daughter went to 
police headquarters to arrange to have the silent 
alarm kept active she made a huge hit and is their 
favourite Avenging Angel." Jerry turned quickly, 
"You're now telling me these Avenging Angels I've 
heard so much about belong to this club, and you 
all know them?" Bill, John and I all burst out 
laughing, eventually Bill said "Sorry about that 
Jerry but John's girlfriend is one of them, she and 
her young sister are Jack's step daughters and 
another one is his niece. The fourth one is Jack's 
sister in law, she is currently on her honeymoon.
 You could say we know the Avenging Angels, my wife 
keeps me on a tight leash when we go to Jack's 
house so I don't run off with one of them." 
With Mark and John having been offered jobs before 
they graduate, and the school year almost over 
Jenny and I decided to have a party for the girls 
to celebrate a good year. It also turned out to be 
something more at the end of the week John and I 
met Jerry and Bill. I had to invite Trish' and the 
twins to join us for the weekend after Mark and 
John spent Thursday evening in the parlour with 
Kelly and Lisa.
