I am not sure how to classify it for this area, but would suggest 'consensual sex' and "historical" maybe appropriate. ----------------------------------------------------------------- --------- Servants in Sunda area of West Java Translated from Mme Yvonne Duplai's "Les Voyages Extrordinaire" (First edition), Pgs 76-79, Les Livres Historique, Paris 1897 My host in Bandung was a Chinese merchant and plantation owner, Ong Siu Lee, a gentleman of considerable wealth and chattels. I was met at the railway station where I had arrived from Batavia after a long, hot and tedious trip. The air in hilly Bandung was cool and crisp after the steamy atmosphere of Batavia. I immediately was aware of the wealth and opulence of the Ong plantation. The house was architecturally similar to plantation houses in the south of the United States. I was unable to avoid being overwhelmed by the staffing as servants, attractive maidens of Sundanese descent , were in plentiful supply. Men servants were evident also but considerably less in number. A charming maid took me to my room and offered to bathe my face with cooled moist cloths. She then attended to my luggage, unpacking it deftly and efficiently into a bureau. She spoke no French and only a little Dutch. We were able to communicate with my few words in her native language, a variety of Malay, and with some good natured mirth. When I came downstairs my host suggested a tour of the plantation and I readily agreed. A horse and buggy was made ready and accompanied by a groomsman at the reins, we made off. The size of the tea growing area was greater than I had anticipated with hill after hill covered in neatly cut hedgerows of tea bushes. The pickers were there in considerable numbers and paid by the quantity that they picked. I learned that there is a conspicuous difference between the servants at the house and the pickers which I shall explain hereunder. The tour took the best part of the rest of the afternoon and whereby I was shown the tea processing from picking to curing. It is packed in large boxes called tea chests and shipped to destinations all over the world...including France. In the evening I was privy to witness a most extraordinaryevent. My host, being a man of some means, had four wives. All were Chinese and all very comely, the youngest being a mere nineteen years of age. Wife number four announced that she was pregnant amidst great joy and celebration. Mr Ong was already the proud father of some 5 children and beamed with delight at the joyous news. I was made aware that concubines do not like to breast feed their children as the risk of losing their bustline is very real and in a house where competition for the attention of the master is paramount, this is an important aspect. Mr Ong told his wife to select a "milker" from the staff as soon as possible as she was already about six weeks pregnant. The term "milker" is for a servant that produces breast milk for the master's children as a wet nurse and it is customary that as soon as a Chinese wife is confirmed pregnant, a servant is chosen and made pregnant too. I expressed my astonishment to Mr Ong who laughingly told me that is quite usual in this part of the world. He explained that the tea pickers I had seen that afternoon were hired labor and were not part of the household. The servants in the house were, he explained not just owned by him but had been bred by him ! In most cases the servants were descendants of some generations back. Under the Dutch administration an experimental program had been launched to breed an entirely new race of "Indo" people. The program had been in place for almost 100 years and the house servants certainly and obviously showed different racial features to the tea-pickers we had seen who were 'pure' Sundanese. Mr Ong explained that the program initiated by the Dutch, in his case, was to import tall strong young Manadonese men from the north Celebes, and breed them with selected Sundanese women. In other plantations different breeding stock were used. The resultant offspring were extraordinarily handsome and hard working with an unquestioning loyalty to the Ong family who regarded the group almost as family. When a 'milker' is made pregnant the resultant offspring, if it is a girl, will become the servant for life of the Chinese woman's child. Throughout life they will be as siblings although one is subservient to the other. My host was amused at my interest in this situation. He assured me there was no reason I should be deterred from witnessing the procedure during my two-week stay on the plantation. It was considered 'women's business' he explained. After the meal three of the wives (accompanied by myself) went to the servants quarters to select a girl. The quarters were barrack-like and there were perhaps 25 women of varying ages attending their ablutions and sitting about chatting. The senior Mrs Ong gathered the girls around and told them that Number Four was pregnant. There was much excitement and laughter and when she then asked if any wished to volunteer as a "milker", imagine my surprise when five girls volunteered. We took them back to the main house to the nursery area where they were interviewed. One was excluded immediately as she was too old. Another was dropped because she was already a nanny for another child. The last three were all in their late teens and were all very keen to be selected. They were then asked about their most recent menstruation: two were about 16 days away and the other was eliminated as she was just about to start. It eventually came down to breast size and after removing their upper clothes for an inspection one was eliminated. It is known that conception could take place on day 15, 14 and 13 before the next menstruation was due and this was day 16. It was agreed that the supervised mating would take place next evening and each evening for the next three days. The next morning a tall muscular boy about 17 was selected as the sperm producer. Wife Two, with me the interested witness, took him to the nursery area and explained what he was to do that evening and over the next few days. The Chinese believe that to produce a female child the sperm must be weakened by many ejaculations and this, they believe, is why first children are usually female. A female child resulting from this mating would be preferred as a nanny/consort of the new Chinese baby.. Accordingly the young man was to 'weaken' his sperm. Two girls were shown how to stimulate the young man who was lying on a bed with his britches removed. Wife number two instructed them in detail how this was to be done and how to arouse the boy. We watched him spill his seed and then they bathed him. They helped him do this every six hours. The mating took place that evening much like mating a pair of pedigree animals. The girl held her sarong up above her hips and exposing her genitals. With two of the Chinese wives present, she was told to lean forward over the back of a chair with her legs quite apart and support herself with her hands on the seat. Mrs Ong then applied copious coconut oil to the girl's exposed vulva as a lubricant. The boy was also prepared with oil, much like milking a cow until his penis became quite erect. Mrs Ong held the penis in one hand and parted the labia with the other. She then inserted the penis and told him to push it in as far as he could. I had not realised that the girl was virginal and I saw her flinch as it was inserted. The boy, who was being mated for the first time I was told, was then instructed to begin his mating motion rocking to and fro. He needed considerable encouragement from the assembled group but after a while he achieved steady rhythm continuing until after some five minutes he shuddered and started uncontrolled spasms of movement with his body. He was told to remain inserted and to push forward until the tremors stopped. He then stood back and the girl was immediately lain on a bed with her feet raised. The mating was clinical and not erotic. The couple were encouraged to do it as often as they wished during the day but each night there was one supervised mating which I witnessed. Mr Ong himself attended the final one and gave a small party for all consisting sweet biscuits and tea. Mr Ong was very proud of his breeding program and some of his offspring were now working in Batavia in service to important Dutch officials. Most of the ground work had been done by his father and his grandfather but he too had been to the Manado area to select breeding males, two of whom he showed me and they were indeed impressive specimens. They would stay for approximately two years and then be returned to their own area. Careful notes had always been made of each servants heredity and this was required by law. All boy babies from this program were free to mix with and marry the locals but all the females were bonded for life to the Ong family and seemingly happy to accept the fact that they would only mate with imported men selected for them by Mr Ong.. When I was back in France I was told by letter that the mating had been successful. But imagine my delight when, a year later, I received a letter from Batavia informing me that the child was born a girl and had been named Yvonne...after me! I felt closely bonded to the infant and sent a small gift. <1st attachment end> ----- ASSM Moderation System Notice------ Notice: This post has been modified from its original format.
