Somehow, when i uploaded part 1 of "Hank's Housemate", i left out the next-
to-last paragraph, which is important information that's going to make a
difference in the next parts of the story.
BEGIN STORY TEXT
(Someday, i may set up a "Hot Rags" website collecting all of the stories,
and "HH" will appear in its corrected form there.)
Here are the last four graphs of the story as they *should* have appeared:
"Sorry, Hank, but it's going to happen. You will be happier, I promise.
"And you won't remember anything about this; the shock of the exchange will
cause you to have a short, ultimately harmless, but temporarily devastating
breakdown. Not only will it explain why you've been gone for a few days,
but you'll have some memory effects explaining why you might get minor
things wrong...
"AND, because it would create a paradox otherwise, which the universe won't
allow, so far as history in each world is concerned, *you* were *always*
over there on Earth 2, and your counterpart was *always* over here on Earth
1..."
And the lights went out.
