None of this concerns you anyway. If you are an adult, be warned that there are lot of dry technical bits in this which may very well bore you. I've noticed that one of the recurring fantasy themes in many ASS and ASSM stories involves one or more people being asleep during a sexual encounter. It seems that almost all males have experienced an orgasmic dream at some point in their lives. For most of us, it's a frequent experience, especially during those teen years when most of us aren't getting any. By contrast, most women (by which I mean my wife, who's really the only woman I've discussed this with, but you'll forgive the wild, unsubstantiated extrapolation. Gentle female readers may feel free to flame me if I'm wrong.) either don't have or don't remember orgasmic dreams. Given this background, I embarked on a campaign to give my wife a wet dream. The experience was very educational, and I present it here for those who would like to try it with their significant other. Many of the stories dealing with this subject are completely unrealistic, so authors may also benefit from this little treatise to add a little accuracy to their stories. (Not, come to think about it, that ASS(M) tales are a bastion of reliable information about any aspect of sexuality, but I again digress.) Although all of my experiments with orgasmic dreams are with a female partner, most of this information is ambisexual (well, yes, as of right now, it IS a word) and those of you with male partners should be able to extrapolate easily. First of all, I should warn you that this is something you should get permission before you try. Dreams are powerful things, and stimulating someone while they are dreaming can rapidly twist any dream into a sexual experience. The twists your partner's subconscious mind will make to incorporate their rising arousal may be bizarre and more than a bit disconce rting. Secondly, your partner has no control over the dream and if you ask about the dream, you should expect that it probably will not involve you. If you're not secure enough in your (wo)manhood or your relationship to handle that, don't try this or don't ask about the dream. Let's start from a point that we can all agree on; men have erections while asleep. What is less well known is that women experience the corresponding signs of arousal to the male hard-on in the form of vaginal lubrication and engorgement of the blood vessels in the clitoris and vaginal walls. This was established by the Kinsey Institute who used dildos with cameras inside and vaginal pressure gauges to measure women's sexual arousal while asleep. (What a great job, don't you wish you'd paid a bit more attention in high school biology class?) Arousal while asleep occurs at the same time as a person is dreaming. In order to give someone a wet dream, you need to stimulate them while they are dreaming. Any other time, and you can be giving the most exciting, perfect, OOOOHH you're hitting just the right spot stimulus in the world and it won't matter one bit. That's why I have to bore you just a bit more and explain dreaming. All (or 99.9999999%) of human dreaming occurs during the stage of sleep known as REM. Humans sleep in cycles; each cycle is approximately 90 minutes long. Starting from drowsiness, sleep becomes progressively deeper for the first 45 minutes or so; brain waves become slower and more synchronized. Then sleep becomes progressively lighter for the next 45 minutes until something truly interesting happens. At around 80 to 90 minutes after falling asleep a person's brain waves return to a state which looks identical to the brain waves of someone who is awake. It is during this period that the brain rehashes events and moves memories to long-term storage. This is also when we dream. To keep us from acting out these dreams, part of the brain shuts down most of our voluntary muscles (sleep walkers and talkers have a problem with this part.) There are exceptions to this shutdown, including the muscles of the eyes (thus the name REM for Rapid Eye Movement) and the involuntary muscles which control the action in the organs we're most interested in here, the pussy and cock. So now you know that you need to rub/suck/lick/fondle your partner during the critical period when they're dreaming. All you need now is some good advice on how to achieve that critical timing. Well step right up. Sleep researchers use EEG machines to monitor their subjects' brain waves and look for the chaotic brain activity that occurs in REM. On the unlikely chance that you don't have several thousand dollars sitting around to blow on an EEG ("Honey, if you REALLY loved me, you would buy the Sybian AND the EEG.") there is a practical, simple, free, and much more fun way to make the same determination. First of all, if you're trying this together during a daytime nap where you have a little light, you can watch for rapid eye movement under the eyelids. Men, of course, are easy (I know that little bit of wisdom is going to shock everyone.), and I don't just mean to get into bed. Just watch for the stiffy. If the love-nazi is on the march, he's probably in REM. In women, brief gentle stimulation of the clitoris will frequently cause her entire vulval area to twitch several times, sort of like a mini-gasm (also a word as of right now). If your intended is moving around, he or she is not in REM (unless, of course he or she is routinely a sleep walker). Finally, the more sleep cycles someone has been through, the less time they spend in deep sleep and the more time they are in REM. That means your best chance of catching your sex muffin in REM will be toward morning. Finally, to the fun part, how to bring your designated smoochable (like a significant other, credit to B3) to that sublime moment of sleepy wetness. Actually, if you get the timing right, making someone in REM cum is as easy as Bill Clinton. The mildest of rhythmic pressure will quickly bring a man or woman to orgasm. This is not a time, by the way to waste REM on foreplay; the dreamer's brain is going to start incorporating the stimuli into the dream immediately and will supply all of the psychological arousal, albeit with the strange logic of dreams. The key is actually not to apply too much stimulation and wake the dreamer. Gentle pressure or rubbing on the clit with fingers works very well, and the same is undoubtedly true of the cock. Licking and sucking are always a good thing, but can be a tricky given the positioning issues involved. Penetration is, I suppose, theoretically possible if you are very quiet and stealthy and your honey-bunches of oats is a very sound sleeper. If anyone actually accomplishes that last one, I'd love to hear about it. Actually, I anyone tries any of this stuff, I'd be interested in hearing other people's experiences with attempting to give or have orgasmic dreams.
