JIMMY AND THE PIRATES: JIMMY GOES TO THE BEACH

Prologue

Jimmy was your normal 10 year old boy, he loved swimming, soccer, football and of coarse computer games. He also enjoyed adventures and would always be out on some kind of mystery or treasure hunt. Jimmy loved pirate stories and always dreamed of being a cabin boy on a big pirate ship. But Jimmy was just your average kid and pirates no longer existed (or do they?).

It was a fine hot day and 10 year old Jimmy Giles was getting ready to spend a day at the beach. He had collected all the things he needed like a beach towel, sun screen and lotion, his swimming trunks and his snorkel. He also had a large bucket in the backyard that he was going to take with him to collect sea shells. Jimmy put all his things barring the swimming trunks into a knapsack and closed it shut. Slipping off his shorts and underpants Jimmy pulled on his skimpy blue speedo swimming trunks and then pulled his shorts back on.

Jimmy came downstairs and into the kitchen where his mother was preparing him a snack to take along with him. Jimmy sat in a chair and put his knapsack down under the table. "Your father left his metal detector in the garage if you want to take it" said Jimmy's mother to him. "That would be great" said Jimmy and he ran off to collect it. He met his father in the garage and he told his father what he planned to do all day. Picking up the metal detector Jimmy headed back inside to get ready to leave. His mother had packed his snack in his knapsack along with several cold drinks. Jimmy kissed his mother goodbye and went out into the backyard to collect his bike. He decided not to take the bucket as he now had the small metal detector to carry which he strapped to the back of his bike. It was so hot outside that Jimmy decided to slip his sleeveless T-shirt off and ride his bike shirtless. He put his shirt in his knapsack then picked his bike up and headed out the back gate.

The beach was not far from Jimmy's home, perhaps a 20 minute bike ride and a easy pace. Jimmy arrived at the beach and went to his favorite spot, a secluded part of the beach that nobody ever went to. It had a small cove to the left which Jimmy had already set up a kind of headquarters for his adventures and a small pool sitting between the cove and the sea. Jimmy settled his knapsack down on the sand and opened it up. Pulling out the beach towel he put it out on the sand in the sun, then he pulled out his sun screen and lotion and set it down on the sand also. He closed his knapsack and put it up against some rocks, out of the sun to keep his snack fresh. Slipping off his shorts he through them onto the knapsack and stood to admire the view. The sea air was fresh and the sky was blue with not a cloud in site, "Beautiful" said Jimmy to himself. Now clad only in his swimming trunks Jimmy applied the sun screen and lotion to his body making sure he covered every bit, he could not do his back but that did not matter to him. Jimmy went and explored the beach, taking the metal detector to search the beach and pretend that what he finds is gold and generally just enjoying the warm day that it was. After about an hour of exploring Jimmy headed back to his spot and decided to have a rest. He laid on his back on the beach towel and slowly drifted off to sleep.

Meanwhile, out at sea Jimmy was being watch by a strange looking man. The man had a telescope to his eye and had been watching Jimmy since he arrived. He wanted Jimmy as his boy, cabin boy that is as the man was the captain of a pirate ship that had sailed into Jimmy's home town looking for the perfect young boy to serve as his cabin boy. The captain of the ship had found what he was looking for and ordered his men to take a boat and collect his find. Jimmy lay still on his beach towel unaware of the approaching boat full of bloodthirsty pirates. As the pirates reached the shore Jimmy began to stir. One of the pirates quickly ran to the boy and placed his blade to the boys throat. Jimmy woke with a start and gasped when he saw this huge man standing above him with a sword to his throat. More of the pirates gathered round and stared at Jimmy. "What do you want" asked Jimmy, the pirate holding the sword said "you my boy". Jimmy did not know what to do, the pirates began talking and the one with the sword looked away to talk to his mates. Jimmy took this as his opportunity to get out of there, he jumped up and began running toward where he had left his bike. As Jimmy ran down the beach one of the pirates pulled out a slingshot and picked up a small stone. Swinging it around his head he let the stone go and it hurtled towards Jimmy's head. Jimmy felt a sharp thud to the back of his head and toppled over into the sand. As he looked up his vision began to blur, the last thing he soar before he lost consciousness was the pirates coming towards him with several lengths of rope in their hands. Everything went black.
