Reviews for Master William's House of Pain, Part 1 01/15/06 Our Master anonymous author presents us with his classic "House of Pain". It's rated 3 because its only Part 1 and to recognize the author's marvelous use of the number 3 in setting up the actual spell binding tale to follow. We too share William's excitement for the 3 boys, young trio, 3 youths, 3 rags,3 needles and 3 sounds--wacking tress, laughing and boisterous. There is a hush representing scout training to be prepared--stop, look and listen. The eagerness to help a fallen victim leads to their being trapped in a planned kidnapping-- our being trapped to their unfortunate 3 hour, 300 mile jouney to William's house of 3 years with its 3 car garage, and a secret entrance 3 inches from the ceiling. The children await the unknown as we scrabble with the author's end of Part 1 - six hours of available time (also the age of the younger brother) divided by 2-- for the Master's shower and sleep equals 3. To be sleeping 4 or 5 hours may be considered 9 with a square root of 3. Were it to be 4 hours plus 3 the lads will wake up in seven hours. The author keeps us guessing--could it be 5 hours plus 3, which is 8, the age of the older boy. We must sit on the edge of our chair while the edge of our sexual excitement draws closer and closer.
