This is not a story I ever set out to write.

In November 2005 one of my readers wrote to me and shared with me his fantasy and a simple (seemingly) request... would I be interested in writing a story based on it?  Well sure, I thought; a quick story would be fun.  It would be a nice change of pace, and it would be interesting to explore another person's fantasy.  So I said yes.

And now ten months later the story is finished...

Whew!

What began as a short story (I thought at first :-) quickly grew to something more.  Brian's fantasy had many facets to it, which I eventually incorporated  into Chapters 1 through 7 (what I originally published as "My Sister and I").  At the time I thought that was the end of the story.  I published the story to my website and sat back, quite pleased with myself for having had the discipline to undertake (and finish!) it.

But I wasn't finished.

Brian liked the story.  A lot.  As did other people.  Brian wrote to me with another request.  I'd left him in such a state at the end of Chapter 7... would I consider continuing it?

This time I had only some vague requests to incorporate in a "sequel".  I began writing.  And writing.  And writing.  Sometime during writing the sequel I realized that it really needed to be several chapters longer than I'd planned.  Groan!  :-)  Meanwhile so many other story ideas waited in the wings for attention.  As always my spare time for writing was limited, and my attention divided.  I almost never have the discipline to write continuously on one story on end.  This was no exception.  In between spurts of writing on "My Sister and I" I would turn my attention to other stories I had in the works.  But I always (eventually) came back to "My Sister and I".  I'd started it, and I had to finish.

And I did finish, finally, in September 2006.  Ten months after first beginning what I thought would be a short story.  "My Sister and I" has been my longest endeavor to date and the first novel-length work that I've actually finished (two of my other stories, "Yes Master" and "JOASW", are still in progress and will be longer than "My Sister and I" when finished).  It will also probably be my one and only story to include incest, a topic which I never planned to write about but which was central to the inspiring fantasy.

Anyway, I've rambled enough for now.  I hope you enjoy the story...
