Chapter Eight

Diary Date: Thursday January 3rd, 2002 (Early Morning Entry)

Another day about to dawn and I can't seem to stay asleep.  My every waking moment sees me drawn to a computer to check my latest mail; to find out the latest details of my own plans; to see my own unstoppable destiny unfolding before my eyes.  They're still full of The Sandman's best efforts to keep me in bed.  5:30am and already there are four new messages from my blackmailers.

I resist the urge to read them immediately preferring instead to relish the thrill of not knowing new demands might have been made while I go quietly to the kitchen to make coffee.  It's foggy outside and quite cool in the kitchen but the chill in the air heightens my tingling sensations caused by the tantalizing uncertainty.  I abandon the idea of making coffee and return to the computer.

Reading the replies to my question about time zones I realize something. Both my blackmailers have two hours jump on me each day.  It's conceivable I could wake up to find my whole day's fate had been decided while I was sleeping.  I shiver excitedly at the thought.  It's not even dawn here now and already it's obvious Mike and Kevan have been plotting against me for a couple of hours.  A delicious thought to take back to the warmth of bed.  I make the decision to hold off on posting this until I get to work.  I'll sleep late and give my blackmailers enough time to plan their devious deeds without distraction from me...
