y Mikvs Welcome to Mike's Internet Literature Review. Today, I'm reviewing the latest opus from Senor Rojo entitled Viv Meets Rojo. Senor Rojo has been producing fine pornography for some time now. Frankly, I've found his multiple trysts with Asian women quite entertaining. Rojo not only captures the biological entertainment associated with sex; but, also adds a cultural element to his characters which cannot be found in other porn stories. The result is usually a combination of the Kama Sutra meets Teddy Roosevelt's Big Stick policy.
In this latest chapter, Rojo meets a delicate Chinese woman at Comdex, a computer trade show. Rojo has some fleeting moral questions about a physical encounter with this woman because he is married. But, his wife is in Japan. And as Norm McDonald so eloquently put it on SNL one evening, " When the cat's away, the mouse will...ah hell, when the cat's at home, the mouse gets plenty of action." So, after some verbal foreplay in a elevator (a wonderfully written scene), it's off to the hotel room for the classic hot, wild sex that we've come to expect from Rojo.
The interesting element in this story as opposed to other Rojo stories is that the author has both people thinking of their significant others while carnally engaged (Rojo thinks of his wife, Viv thinks of her boyfriend). But, the effect of these thoughts doesn't cause the two characters to pause. Instead, it causes them to become even hotter. I've always enjoyed Senor Rojo's ability to take us inside the minds of his characters during sex. In this story, the thoughts of the characters imagining their loves while enjoying each other perfectly convey the sensation of guilt drowning in a hormone rush that we've all experienced at one time or another.
My one complaint with the author is that for someone who is such a master at characterization, he relies too much on cliches to describe the physical anatomy. If I have to read about a woman's "tasty bud" again I think I'll scream (not in pleasure). In this story, the author sinks to a new low by describing his penis as a "trouser snake." We expect the use of these kind of metaphors from either a new writer, a teenage boy, or a virgin. But, from as accomplished a writer as Senor Rojo, we expect more. I hope he develops his metaphors to the level of his characterization.
On a diplomatic level, I'm not sure that I appreciate the method by which Senor Rojo spreads his brand of American imperialism among the various Asian cultures. But, on a simple pornographic level, it works magnificently. The characters are real, the dialogue is short and to the point, and the reader is left at the end with the feeling that the man has dismounted you just before you've climaxed (frustrated because you want more). On the Mike erection scale of 0 to 5 inches (5 inches being as big as I get now that I'm in my 30's), this story gets 4.75 inches.
That's it for this week. I'll be back soon with yet another literary review.
