The Fearless Vampire - My Commentary
I wrote this story as an experiment. It was my first attempt at erotica, it was around Halloween, so I picked one of my favorite erotic story types, the Lesbian Vampire Story! I used first person, present tense because I thought the sex might come off better that way. I was surprised at how difficult it was to write, however. I found stream-of-conscious very hard to pull off. In particular, I am not happy with the way the transitions worked. And to make the story convincing, I had to make it long. Too long. I am amazed that any readers were able to get through the whole thing. My original plan was to turn it into a much longer piece. But I discovered I hated writing the killing scenes. Absolutely hated it. And after I was done writing the killing scenes, I hated myself for writing them. I couldn't continue it. I never posted parts 3 and 4. I worked on parts 1 and 2 a lot harder, and I like them better. But the last two are probably more vampire-ish, and part 4 is certainly more violent. This story was originally posted under the name "Poison Ivy." I didn't realize at the time that some readers would assume "Ivy" was female, so I got a little more email feedback on this story than I would have guessed. Some of the feedback was interesting, but a lot of it wasn't, so I tossed it all. I wish I had kept the smart feedback, though, because some of it was really good! |
