Fast forward. Chelle and I both graduated and went off to State. We managed to talk the folks into letting us get an apartment together. Mom was opposed because of the cost but Chelle turned Dad into a pretzel, just like she always could, and we had our apartment. It was great, just the two of us and no longer needing to worry about being caught. No more having to sneak into each other’s bed. We were just like any couple.
I was taking Psych 101 in the morning. One day we had a discussion about twins, the old nature versus nurture debate. What was quickly obvious is how little most people understood about twins. Yet, they were making these pronouncements like they were experts. I was finding myself getting a little pissed about it. Twins can’t do that. Twins always do this.
That’s when a girl a few rows down exploded. She laid into the two loudest mouths about how they didn’t know squat. She went down the list of their ‘pronouncements’ refuting every one from her own experience. The loudest of the mouths was trying to shout her down by saying she wasn’t objective being a twin herself. That’s when I jumped in, madder than she was at this point and confirmed every thing she has said. The two of us finally backed him down.
The Prof jumped in, pouring oil on the water. He pointed out that both sides were right and wrong, not that I really agreed with him, but I understood why he would say that. Those assholes were wrong. He made several points about what we can know objectively about psychology and what we can only know subjectively, the current discussion being a case in point of subjective reality.
The class was over then. As I left the class, I saw the girl standing outside. “Thank you,” she said.
“My pleasure. They were pissing me off too,” I said.
We started walking together. “You said you have a sister?”
“Yeah. Michelle, but I call her Chelle. She’s here at State too,” I said.
She smiled. “Wow. I have a twin brother, Jim. He’s here. My name’s Trish,” she said holding out her hand.
I took it. “Mike.”
“So what are the chances of two fraternal twins being together in the same class?”
“Pretty thin, I’d guess,” I said.
Trish gave me a bit of a funny look, then said, “I have to go to my next class. See you.”
“Yeah, see you Thursday,” I said, and she was walking off. I was a bit confused by that final look but didn’t think much of it.
After class on Thursday, Trish tracked me down. “Hi, Mike.”
“Hi.”
“I’ve been thinking. You and your sister and Jim and I probably have a lot in common. I was thinking maybe you and she could come over for dinner Saturday and we could drink wine and play cards or something,” she asked.
This was a pretty nice offer. And while college has its share of drinking neither Chelle nor I were legal drinking age so the offer of wine hit a particularly resonant chord for me. I know I should have asked Chelle first, but I accepted anyway. Trish gave me their address and we were set for Saturday.
I had already told Chelle about the argument in class so she knew about Trish. When I told her about the dinner date she asked, “So, trying to get a girlfriend?”
Why is it that women think every other woman is trying to get their claws on ‘their’ man? Hell, most women have their own ‘problem’ at home and no more want your problem that they need a hole in the head. Jeesh!
Because of our unusual relationship, we hadn’t made a whole lot of friends. So Chelle was actually pretty easy to talk into going. She did seem a bit distracted. I chalked it up to her female irrational jealousy.
Saturday, we showed up at their apartment. Jim looked much more like Trish than Chelle and I looked alike. They definitely looked like a close brother and sister. Trish seemed a bit nervous, like Chelle. Jim and I hit it off immediately. We even cheered for the same NFL team, which was sucking big time this season. We both thought the coach should go, even though it probably was the General Manager’s fault the team sucked so bad.
Chelle and Trish had gone to the kitchen. Jim poured some wine and took two glasses into the kitchen. “Food will be out soon.” We clinked glasses. “Nice to meet other twins,” he said. “Most people just don’t understand what it’s like.”
“You got that right,” I agreed.
Trish and Chelle brought out some trays of food. We sat around the table playing cards, talking about school, but mostly talking about growing up twins. They were surprised that we had shared a room until we left for college. Chelle gave me a look when I mentioned it. Oh well. They had never shared a room, which gave me the opportunity to say we had to because of space limitations. The point is, we hit it off. I was looking forward to having friends.
When we got back to our place, Chelle was excited. “What?” I asked.
“Didn’t you see?”
“What?” I asked again.
“They’re like us,” she said breathlessly.
“Yeah so. They’re twins. It’s cool,” I said.
Chelle gave me one of her patented looks, telling me I was not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
“What?” I asked.
“They live in a one room apartment, like us,” she said. I still hadn’t made the leap. “There’s only one bed…”
“But maybe the couch folds out,” I said beginning to get the picture. Chelle shook her head. “Oh, like us.” She nodded. I finally got it.
Tuesday, I walked with Trish after class. “Thanks for Saturday. That was a lot of fun. Chelle and I don’t have a lot of friends. Most wouldn’t understand.”
Trish looked at me, puzzled.
“What it’s like to be a twin and love your other half…” I said and waited.
Trish thought for a second, looked into my eyes and she knew, that I knew. She blushed.
“You guys are like Chelle and I, aren’t you?” I asked.
“What do you mean?” she asked.
“Let’s have dinner tonight at our place,” I said, pressing her now that she was at a disadvantage.
“We couldn’t,” she said not very convincingly.
“Yes you could. We need to talk,” I said with finality.
It was a bit tense when Trish and Jim showed up at our place. We had gotten a neighbor to buy us some wine. I served it. There wasn’t any small talk, just pleasantries. Chelle mentioned something and that lit the fuse. Jim and Trish launched into this obviously rehearsed speech about how they were twins and sometimes that is different and people don’t understand and draw the wrong conclusion and not to believe…
Chelle and I started laughing which brought them to a confused halt. “What?” demanded Jim.
Chelle, still giggling asked, “How long have you been lovers?”
They both turned a darling shade of red which made Chelle and I laugh some more. Jim was getting mad now. Chelle said, “Look in our bedroom. There is only one bed, just like you guys. Just - like - you - two,” she said emphasizing each word.
Trish whipped around and looked into the bedroom, then back at us. Her confusion turned to disbelief, then to understanding, “You guys are lovers?”
Chelle nodded, “We started in sixth grade. Well, really eighth grade.”
They shared a look. Trish asked, “How did you know?”
“Takes one to know one.”
Trish stumbled a little as she admitted, “Yeah, we are… together.”
Chelle laughed, “You can say it: lovers, sex, screwing, humping…” which finally broke the tension as Trish and Jim started laughing.
So we became friends. We’d have dinner together a couple times a week. Weekends, the four of us would often go see a movie. We hung out together, not having to be so careful. I didn’t have to worry if Jim saw me patting Chelle on the ass and they didn’t worry if he grabbed her and kissed her in the kitchen. It was liberating.
It was a Saturday when it all came tumbling down. We had dinner at our place. The girls had been drinking wine more than usual and Jim and I less than usual. They were giggly. Jim and I shared a look. Chelle often gets horny when she gets that tipsy. She wound up in my lap, thrusting her tongue into my mouth. Jim grabbed Trish and gave her a similar treatment. Pretty soon, Chelle had her top off and my mouth on those luscious tits.
Trish saw that and said, “We should go.”
Chelle looked up, her eyes lidded with lust. “Please stay. It would be sexy. Our bed is big enough for four.”
Jim obviously wanted to stay. He ground his cock up into Trish’s pussy and even through their clothes you could see she was liking it. She looked at him. He said, “Why not?”
I stood, with Chelle’s legs wrapped around my waist and carried her into the bedroom. Jim was right behind me. I laid Chelle on one side of the bed and Jim put Trish on the other side. It didn’t take long for all four of us to be naked. There wasn’t a lot of foreplay. The air was full of sexual tensions, seeing another couple having sex next to us. I pushed into Chelle as Jim mounted Trish. We actually hit a rhythm together, it made the bed not jiggle so much. I could see Chelle and Trish exchange glances. The climaxes arrived quickly as well.
After, the four of us lay together. Jim had fallen to the outside of Trish so I was next to her. Is a woman ever as sexy as when she has just been fucked? I glanced at Trish, her legs spread, her pussy wet and red and felt my cock getting hard. Jim noticed and smiled as he was looking at Chelle the same way. He nodded, so I bent down and kissed Trish.
Now, you’d think a woman would complain about that. But truth is, a woman is never as ready for it as when she’s just had it. Lots of studies have shown that multiple couplings are natural for women even if they are currently socially taboo. It took no time at all before I was between Trish’s spread thighs and Jim was between Chelle’s and the four of us were fucking away. Both of us guys lasted longer this time and the girls each had multiple orgasms. They were thoroughly fucked by the time we collapsed into sleep.
Confusion reigned the next day when I woke up spooning Trish and Chelle woke up with Jim wrapped around her. First, the girls blamed us. But we wouldn’t let them get away with that. I pointed out that Chelle started it. Trish tried to blame it all on Chelle, but Jim pointed out that Trish was the one who started the mate swap, not technically true, but good enough for arguments sake. It took several days for the emotions to settle.
A week later we were able to sit and talk it out. By then we were all able to admit that we had enjoyed the night without worrying that our partner was going to hate us. Jim looked at Chelle and announced he’d like to do it again. Trish looked my way and I said, "Yes, I’d like that as well." She blushed but didn’t say no.
It started out as just an occasional thing but quickly wound up with Trish and I in bed more often than Chelle and I, largely because Chelle and Jim were going at it like bunnies. We finally sat down one night. Jim took the plunge, “I think I love Chelle.” He waited for the explosion but none came.
“I love Chelle,” I said knowing he was expecting that but continued without pause, “I love Trish.” Quickly all four of us were saying the same thing, we loved both girls, they loved both guys.
Then Trish got the floor. “But it’s different. I mean, I’ll always love Jim but with Mike, I feel like our differences make us stronger. With bro and me there were never any differences we knew each other so well. With Mike, it’s fun to explore with him.” Jim and Chelle nodded. I took Trish’s hand in mine and Jim took Chelle’s.
“I guess we need to change apartments,” I said. There was nervous laughter. Each of us knew that things were irrevocably different. We had moved on. I think we always knew this would happen, one day we would want to marry and have kids. It wasn’t so much that I fell out of love with Chelle as that I added love for Trish.
Of course we had a double wedding. The Moms couldn’t agree on anything. Jim and I were ready to elope. Finally Trish and Chelle called a family meeting. Trish and Chelle got the Moms to disagree, which was easy enough. She pushed it which made both mothers dig in even more until it was obvious to everyone but them that they were both being irrational about the whole thing. Chelle and Trish turned to the two Dads. “See, they won’t agree on anything.”
Both Moms acted outraged. “It’s her fault.”
The girls turned on the waterworks for the Dads, “Are you going to let the most important day of my life be ruined just because you don’t want to have an argument? I need you, Dad, to help me have the wedding I want.” Jim and I exchanged a glance both knowing how contrived this whole thing really was. It should have been a warning for us, but like all young lovers we were stupid.
The fact that the two of them had it all planned made it no less effective. How can a dad not respond to that plea, appropriately accompanied by tears? I don’t know what got said that night but the moms fell in line after that. Oh, they still bitched, but at least it was controlled.
The wedding was beautiful with two gorgeous brides. The four of us went on honeymoon together. And it doesn’t matter that the second night the four of us slept in the same bed. Chelle was just as good a lay as a married lady as she had been before.
We both bought houses in a new development, right next door to each other. And our dinners can go rather late, sometimes the visiting couple just doesn’t make it home till the morning. We are one big, and soon to be growing if those swelling bellies are an indication, happy family. They say twins run in families. Maybe we’ll really have a big family. Most people don’t understand just how close twins are. But the four of us do. And that’s all that matters.
