A Wizard's Life

Part III

And so my training continued. Thrice more I took a virgin into the grove and completed one of the Great Spells to gain even more Power and control. I also learned the ways of many women and how much power I could gather from different women.

“You are ready to seek your own path,” my Master said one day.

“Master?” I asked suddenly afraid of being on my own.

“It is time. Each wizard reaches a time when he must seek his own way to wisdom. The book will continue to guide you, but now is the time for you to seek your own way to that wisdom. You have learned all of the Great Spells but one. The spell of the Earth.” He held out his hand and his book slid of the shelf and flew to him. “It will give you mastery of the things of the Earth. Making a book fly through the air is a parlor trick. This spell will give you great control of the things around you.” He motioned at my book and the pages flew open. “Read and learn.” He turned to leave the room.

“But Master. You said I needed the protection spell,” I said alarmed.

He turned back laughing. “Tell me pup, what would you do if something came at you with harmful intent?”

I thought for a moment. “I would take the dark energy and reinforce it with the white and I would hurl it.”

“And how much energy do you think you have?”

“Much, Master.”

“Enough to knock down this building?”

“Yes, much more than that” I said.

“Yes,” he said. “Much more than that. And the dark things that crawl in the night will see that as well. They will sense your confidence and your power. They will flee as all evil flees before the just and the powerful. You see, you have nothing to fear anymore from the Dark as long as you follow the middle way, power with justice and compassion. I withdrew the protection spell moons ago. Now, study the spell of the Earth.” He left me.

I felt enormous powers being held in check easily now. I read the section of the book about the Dark Things which wander between worlds. I learned the spells of defense and the spells of destruction. I knew that he was right. If some evil apparition came at me I could summon enough power to blow it back into the Hell it arose from. I almost looked forward to the test. I could have unleashed a blast that would level a city. And with that confidence I was no longer in danger from the dark. They would sense my power just as I could. They would avoid me as long as I stayed on the right path, the path of the Wizard.

I turned the book back to the spells of Great Power and found the Spell of the Earth. The spell would tie me to the Earth and the earth to me, aligning my power with its power. I would have dominion over the things of the Earth. The book told of making the Earth open to swallow enemies, great shaking, by which it meant earthquakes, using the living things of the Earth. All of these would be at my disposal.

Late in the afternoon I went to the park which held my Grove. I used the Sight easily to seek my virgin. I wandered long, not finding any suitable women. There are so few virgins these days, I was starting to despair of finding the one when I saw her. She had short brunette hair flowing freely in the breeze and a bright smile on her face. She was talking with another young woman, who was not a virgin. Her aura showed that she had sex with her cousin on a family picnic several years before. I cast a repulsion spell at this one. She stopped as my virgin continued on. I pulled her to me. Her eyes were wide with fear as she could no longer control her body. I uttered the control spell quickly to relieve her of her fear. Her eyes closed. The other girl had turned and was hurrying away from the repulsion spell.

“Open your eyes and follow me,” I said.

Her eyes opened, she smiled, and walked with me through the dimming light of the park. I led her straight to my Grove. Before, I had worried that someone might stumble upon us during the Rite. I now knew a warding spell and cast it about us. No one would approach. “Remove your clothes,” I commanded.

She quickly stripped, standing before me naked in all of her innocence. She seemed to belong with the growing things, her hair blowing in the breeze, her small firm breasts and trim flat belly. I knew she would connect with the Grove and bring me much power.

Then I noticed a metal piercing in her belly. “Remove it,” I said.

“I cannot,” she said.

I went to her and held the thing in my hand. It was true, the metal was molded to not separate. I said a word of parting and the thing broke in twain. I set the pieces with her clothes. If she wanted the silly thing put back she could.

I sat on the soft grasses under the trees. “Sit with me,” I said. She sat next to me, smiling. I kissed her softly and she returned the kiss. The night was quickly coming on as the light disappeared. I waited.

When the last rays of the sun had disappeared and the night was dark in all of its majesty, I had her lay back. “My sweet, I will bring you much pleasure.” She smiled and nodded.

Undressed, I kissed her, finding her mouth sweet. I played with her breasts bringing a moan of pleasure from her. My hand found her sacred spot. She was wet with desire. Her hips pressed back against my hand. I uttered the first part of the Great Spell calling the Gods for the sacrifice. Once again I heard the rumbling laugh of Cuchullin. I pressed my cock into her chanting the beginning of the Spell of the Earth. The Grove began to glow with a silvery light, the trees swaying almost as if they were alive, the ground beneath the girl rumbled and rolled. I fucked her with deep strokes. She lay back, her eyes shut, her hands clenching the ground on either side as the power used her body as its conduit.

I noticed something strange in this spell. As quickly as the power roared into me, it dissipated, draining away and back to the earth from whence it had come. But it took part of me with it. The girl was shuddering under me, her climax approaching. I let mine come as well. As the first great gouts of my seed blasted into the girl I chanted the last part of the spell, filling her as I sent wave after wave of my essence into her.

As the spell ended, all of the strange light blinked out, the trees stilled, and the ground once again solidified. It was as if nothing had happened. I did not feel the usual surge of energy after a Great Spell.

I withdrew from the girl and dressed. When she had recovered I had her dress and led her out into the park, releasing her from the possession spell.

I returned to the book store from the Rite in the Grove. The walk back had been illuminating. I could feel the presence of the things of the earth, the plants, the rocks, and the water. I knew I could reach out with my power and move them. I was aligned with them and they would align themselves with me. It was a very unusual feeling, almost but not quite as if the things of the Earth were sentient beings. Now I understood why this spell had been so different. I had aligned the Earth with me. It truly was at my beck and call. All of the energy which had flowed into me then out had been used to tame the things of the Earth.

At the book shop my Master awaited me. He smiled as I entered the shop. “Congratulations. You have passed all of the tests. Welcome to the Wizard’s Guild.” He handed me a small gold amulet on a chain. I saw that he was wearing one like it. I put it around my neck.

“Master, I know you say I am ready and tonight I felt for the first time that you might be correct. But I have read most of the book and have more questions now than when I started,” I said.

“You have not even begun to learn from your book. You think because you have read most of the pages you know all it contains? Your book will grow and change with you. When you open the book next, you will see. Come,” he said leading me into the back room. He gestured to his book which flew to him. “Bring your book,” he said, an almost smile playing on his face. He was challenging me.

I gestured at mine and it too flew to the table in front of me.

Smiling, he said, “Open it.”

I opened it and saw that it had changed. There were whole new sections in the book. The book now started with the rules of the Wizard’s Guild. That was followed with a whole section on the Path of the Wizard. Next was a section on learning the secrets of the Power. The incantations were still in the book, but they now were indexed by function and only contained the words along with a brief description.

“You have much to learn. Listen, I tell you something it is now fit for you to hear. You have progressed much faster and further than most. You can be a great and powerful wizard. Learn the universal truths. Become wise and strong and just. Go, and assume your heritage,” he said.

“Master, I cannot begin to thank you for the gifts you have given me,” I said.

“There is one way. Someday, you will meet a man who has the power in him but does not know it. You will become his Master as I became yours. That is how you will thank me,” he said.

I grabbed him and hugged him. He returned it with affection. “I’ll call you young pup no more. Go Master Wizard,” he said.

I picked up my book and went off into the night.
