I have not used any special tricks to make things work with very old browsers. Instead, I have tried to apply the principles of the 1999 HTML standards, because to me they are simpler and more logical. I use IE, and it displays these pages as I intended. If you prefer to use another browser, or find the pages on this site hard to read, please do visit the FTP site. Nearly everything I have written is there, too.
Some pages may display as HTML source. This seems to happen only with slower Internet connexions — I've no idea why. I have found, though, that if you save the page on your hard disk and reopen it from there, it will display properly. I have also received a valuable tip from fellow-author Harriet (do please have a look at her wonderful stories, which I heartily recommend): type in the full address of the misloaded page, followed by a question mark. Apparently this will cause your browser to re-fetch the page correctly.
I don't (except in jest) caution people of any age against reading what I have written. I write about nothing physical that is not perfectly familiar to most, if not all, young people from the age of puberty. I am however extremely open-minded on this point, and welcome dissenting views if reasonably expressed.
I have nevertheless registered my site at ICRA, a voluntary contents rating scheme.
