At Richard's Club the following weekend, he suggests that she take up duplicate bridge as a hobby, pointing out that tournaments are held regularly all over the country and even overseas. He also emphasizes that fact that it will afford her the opportunity to meet other people and she can form a partnership with a couple of her favorite friends and they can travel together. Paula is elated with her husband's solution, and Gordon is pleased that he has finally find a way to keep his wife happy when he has to work out of town.
