Lucy slowly opened her eyes and looked up at the ceiling.

'What's a breeder?', Lucy asked.

'Who else is travelling with you?', Lucy asked.

'A lot of people, you will get to meet them later. We have the milk maids who's been engineered to produce enough milk to feed the calves since the female cows don't any produce any. They also feed all the human members of the whole convoy, their milks are a valuable resource in the desert where water is so scarce and they are full of nutrients. And if they have any milk left over we bottle them and sell it in the market when ever we pass by a town. Then there's the collectors who makes sure that they collect any and all urine and shit from the animals we are herding as well as our selves. We sell the ammonia rich piss and our shit to farmer bitches in the towns we pass by because they are used as fertilizers.'

'Farmer bitches?', Lucy asked.

'Basically farmers that lives on the edge of the desert, don't know why they are called farmers bitches but that's the way it is. In our convoy you get designated a duty depending on what your body is suited to do. We all had to go genetic engineering so we can do our work, gotta pull your weight right?' Roxy said softly.

'What's gone happen to me?', Lucy asked.

'I don't know, our mother, who is in charge of the convoy is currently in a meeting with everyone except me, planning what to do in the next town. We are probably gone leave you there since we don't know where you are meant to go or where you are from. She isn't our mother but we call her that anyway she either found or hired us'.

'No don't leave me I want to stay with you guys to pay you back for saving my life', Lucy begged.

'I will ask mother and see what she says but you should sleep for now your body still hasn't recovered from the dehydration', Roxy replied.

Lucy suddenly started to feel very tired and fell asleep almost immediately.

When Lucy woke up again Roxy was still sitting next to her.

'Good news Lucy, mother has agreed to let you join our convoy. We had your physiology checked while you were sleeping and it turns out your are 13 years old and is best suited to be a collector with some affinity to be a milk maid and since we are short on milk mother said you will become a milk maid and a collector. So how does that sound?', Roxy said smiling.

'Sounds great, how many days have I been sleeping?', Lucy asked slowly getting up.

'About 2 days since we last spoke but you should be fully recovered now.'

Lucy looked at her body, she was completely naked.

'Don't worry we will get you some clothes after you had your modification done then I will take you meet the rest of the convoy, they are really excited to meet you', Roxy helped Lucy get up.

'Come on lets take you next door, the doctor is waiting for you. We are currently in Crystal's trailer, she is our genetic engineer and convoy doctor', Roxy said leading Lucy out of the room into the next one.
