I wonder about author's names. What causes them to name themselves what they do? In the case of this author, I'd say it's a sort of Led Zeppelin heavy-and-light effect.
These stories were part of a larger selection that was posted recently. All had codes attached which seemed to be a personal system devised by the author. These three happened to be BDSM and were written in first person, the narrator being a sort of mobile, suave dom-for-hire. In the first, a disobedient sub is taken to a barn, strapped to a saddle, hit with a crop, then has her ass tattooed. (It's been a big week for tattooed asses.) In the second, he interferes with the work of a female dom who's domming a virgin who wants to stay a virgin. In the third, he straps a female sub to a bondage box as he's in a motel room watching TV. (A beautiful bound naked woman is heaving in orgasm after orgasm and he's watching TV?)
These three were well written and up there with the best of them, hence the A, and should be stimulating to fans of the genre. But. When money isn't passing hands from sub to dom or the obvious desire of the subs to be subbed is clarified, the kinky events come off more like your typical kidnapping and torture story than consensual BDSM. It's the interplay of personalities and the repulsion/attraction aspect at work that differentiates the BDSM subgenre from the latter; that's what makes the work of writers like Tigger so interesting. As neither the narrator's good looks nor scintillating personality are cited, there has to be SOME reason why women scrape to be humiliated at his feet. The author went to the trouble of actually naming the characters and making up backgrounds for them, so this one fault in some otherwise excellently written stories really sticks out. But of course all this doesn't matter if you just want to read some kinky sex.
I noticed the text files of these stories all began with "GETA..." As in get a life? Was this a message to readers?
On the recent debate about selling CD-ROMS with ASS stories on them:
It is my stand that the wishes of the author should always be respected. If he or she says go ahead, fine. If they say no by mail contact or in the tagline to their work, hands off (For example, "This work may be freely distributed via electronic media, providing that this header and the byline is included. It may not be sold or included in any work of any sort that might be sold." I'm quoting from the preface material to "Knight Errant," reviewed below.)
Of course, many writers are uncontactable, having lost their original email addresses, and many more stories have become separated from their taglines over the course of time, particularly those posted to BBSs. Ethically, because there's no way of finding out the authors' wishes, these stories shouldn't be published outside their original media (the media being distribution through the net, as that's what the author originally did.)
I'm aware that programs, icons, and artwork have been passed around for years on the net and have been compiled onto CDs with or without their creators' knowledge. There is valid reasoning behind the "you posted it on the net, so it's ripe fruit for the picking" analogy which posters should be always be aware of. But stories are unique in that they are commodities with potential value to thousands of publishers, and though publishers reject 99% of what crosses their desks, writing is still one of the easiest ways an average person can turn a small profit from their long hours of craft and toil and receive recognition for it. You don't need long years of ballet school, singing lessons, hundreds of auditions, liposuction, or starving in garrets. All you need is an intelligent mind.
So, in sum, the authors of the stories should have the last word over what is done with them, even if this seems unrealistic. And though it may be also unrealistic to sue the makers of these CD ROMs over the copyright infringement of one story and expect to receive damages for it, it is also worthwhile for CD makers to remember that lawyers also post to ASS, that pesky lawsuits may interfere with the defendent getting certain kinds of jobs and having peace of mind, and that while money may not come out of a lawsuit, the CD operation may shut down and all copies confiscated--a substantial loss of investment for those involved.
In other words, it's your funeral.
About the Taria/Buttbyter posts: I can't say I approve 100% of one writer mocking another writer's work in a public forum, no matter how much they think it deserves it. Such things are better left to critics more thick- skinned than I. But I have to admit Taria is the more witty and erudite poet, so if there is a winner in this war, she's it.

For straight readers who prefer more mainstream fare, ignore the fact it's gay and that it's a Medieval fantasy; you've got to read this one for the prose alone. The author had a rich, visual style that was also very sensorial, touching equally on the senses of hearing, smell, and taste. The story also featured the most realistic description of fellatio I've ever seen, whether coming from a man or woman. It makes stories like "Escort Service," which is reviewed below, look like funny pages ads for X-ray spy glasses.
I'm well aware I'm lambasted for liking fantasy and science fiction stories that are often fairly idiotic. But the truth is most of them are more literate and readable than more "realistic" attempts at sex stories, as SF and fantasy fans have a long-standing tradition of honing their writing talents by swapping stories between themselves and publishing them in fanzines. Such practice makes for better writers, particularly as there's a built-in SF audience for them...whereas more mainstream- oriented writers may have to beg and scrape for others to read their work and receive feedback on it.
As for the fantasy and SF elements being unrealistic--what is so realistic about 12-inch cocks or women with 40-inch boobs and 20-inch waists? Or incest stories about a "pair of gorgeous intelligent bisexual nymphomaniac sisters" as one writer's stuff was recently pegged?

If you were a virgin and had read "Knight Errant" followed by this story, you'd be very confused as to what cum tastes like. Is it bitter and salty, or creamy and sweet? Cottage cheese or whipped cream?

A funny commentary on ASS subculture. If made into a line drawing cartoon by S. Gross, this story would be at ease in the pages of The New Yorker magazine.

This was one of the author's "Twilight Zone" series of stories.
A siren (as the Greek siren Circe, who was a witch) lures a well-hung but naive young football player to her lair. She drugs him, and they have sex sans his pants but with all his other gear on. After he orgasms he undergoes a strange transformation. I won't spoil it by telling you what it is, but he could be either very lucky, or very unlucky, depending on your point of view.
This story brought a smile to my face even though I don't follow football.
I received a letter from a reader informing me that furry tales (as
discussed in the 6/30 Annex Reviews) are not an exclusively male bi or
gay phenomena and that they do they female protagonists too, and
probably fans and writers as well. If this is so, I would like to see some
up for review.
Another reader pointed out that the "We've Seen This Before..." cliche list in last week's Reviews should be taken tongue-in-cheek rather than seriously...that is, cliches are what make the sex stories so readable in the first place. I agree up to a point. When you've read as much of this stuff as I have, though (straight, gay, B/D, S/M, doggy, incest, etc.) they quickly become uninteresting (BORING!) when no new elements are there. So, my advice to writers is to use cliches wisely; always be aware of them, and put your own slant on them to make them fresh and new.

The 18-year-old narrator KNEW he shouldn't have been walking in the woods behind his parents' house. Really. A bad mistake on his part, because he and his 20-year-old cousin Gary are promptly abducted and taken to a cabin owned by a strange guy in a tie-dye t-shirt. Various kink occurs, including enemas, water sports, bondage, shaving, and gangbanging. All male.
This was a nice abduction/rape fantasy (the participants wind up enjoying most of it and no one suffers permanent damage) that was marred only by implausibility--this austere cabin in the woods has a dungeon/basement with hydraulic slings and extensive toilet facilities- -and the tendency of the villains of the piece to speak like Mr. Data from Star Trek. The author included a questionnaire for feedback at the end of Part 4, obviously intending to launch a part-time career as a ASSB poster. My advice is: this was a worthy first effort, but work on the realism quotient...while keeping intact the imagination that lets things rip...'cos the *realer* something is, the more *stimulating* it is.

I usually try to avoid reviewing the same author more than once within a three month time period, even though I may read and enjoy other stories they've written. I feel a single review is enough to garner the author some well-deserved attention...or contempt, if the case may be. But for the following story I'm going to make an exception.
BronwenSM has made a splash recently, going by the few sentient discussion threads I've seen on ASSD playing sandwich with the spam. Yes, she's British, and according to the preface of this story considers herself the female equivalent of Hugh Grant. I'm not sure if she means his comedic skill or his escapades with Divine Brown, but either interpretation is cool. In "Sam's Bad Day" she switches gears into a biting satire on spam and what I take to be a stab at the middle-class white males who dominate the porno industry.
The plot is this: A guy that writes sex spam for a living suddenly notices things going wrong with his life. He hears disjointed lines of ASS spam from his secretary, taxicab driver, and train ticket clerk. Then, while on the train, he meets a group of "Double teaming teens" who proceed to do what teen girls in spam usually do. That's just the beginning.
What is so wonderful about this story is that it simultaneously gets you hot and makes you realize what a dolt you are for getting hot. In other words, it's both paying tribute to porn and mocking it. If the author is a young woman (remember this is cyberspace) she is having a field day skewering the industry that transforms young women into silicon- injected plastic fuck-toys and soundly kicks its patriarchal ass. It's the purest femdom revenge of all. Taria has also done this in a way with her "Rebuttal to Buttbyter" series of poems. Welcome to the club, Riot GRRRLLSS!

I've been wanting to review this one for while (note to the author: Sorry I'm a month late) because it brings up a the subject of femdom.
Broadly speaking, the femdom genre is about females who are sexually dominant over males, but this can have many interpretations. To some men and women, it means that the female sex is the naturally superior one; to some men, that women are deserving of worship and/or submission, and that it is an enjoyable experience to suffer at their hands. To some women (notably those who write transgender fiction, some of whom may have been born men) it means either the opportunity to wedge the men into spike heels and corsets to see how the other shoe fits, so to speak, or the naughty thrill of imagining themselves as the feminized man in question. (Hmmm...if these TG stories were written by women, and these women consider themselves superior to men, then they can't think too much of the female half of the human race if the most awful humiliation they can come up for an errant husband or boyfriend is turning him into a cross-dressing slut. After all, I've never heard of a story where a man turns a woman into a manly stud as punishment. Why would he? After all, being a guy is pretty great! You can whack off whenever you like!)
Other women seem to write femdom fiction as a form of revenge, for either personal slights or all those mean nasty godawful NOT NICE things males have done to females over the centuries, gosh darn it! Such stories usually follow the pattern of piggish guy brutally ganged up on by a squad of righteous females and given his just deserts. I strongly suspect, too, that some of the writers of these stories are male.
And now we have this story, the first part of a longer piece, it seems, in which the female character's predilection for kink and abuse has a valid and logical psychological base.
The plot: Aislinn and Jake have been going out for four months, in which they haven't had sex because of Aislin's fear and repulsion. She was brutally raped at fifteen and can't stomach the thought of getting down to business, though she does get turned on. Jake doesn't mind; he's a nice guy. But one day things change. Aislinn gets him worked up, and, in a scene where her hidden--and forbidden--desires come to the forefront--she blindfolds him, cuffs and ties him to the bed, then slides a couple of cock rings on him. She comes first from the sight, then from vigorously banging herself on him as he's in excruciating pain and arousal. More of this is hinted in the future.
The neat thing about the story is how Aislinn finally achieves a degree of "revenge" on men (because of the rape and an earlier incident where some punks lob a stone-studded snowball in her face) and control over her sexuality because she is firmly ensconced in the driver's seat as she inflicts these acts on her somewhat uncomprehending boyfriend. So we're digging a lot deeper into psychological territory than your average ASS story, because reasons are given for the B/D. But the downside is that the real-life ramifications of rape have been made to serve the ends of erotic literature rather than being given the weight and seriousness they call for, and I'm not sure the message that is given here jibes with the story's purpose, which is to turn you on to some degree. Frankly, I felt more horrified than aroused at the direction things were taking; my attitude has always been that acts of this nature should be taken in fun and mutual pleasure, not as a means to exorcise demons. This story seems to building towards a painful annihilation for the male character.
But on the other hand, the author's intent may be to present a juicy psychosexual drama, and in that case, things are off to a running start. In a similar vein, a few months back he or she posted the multi-part series "Nothing Like the Sun" about one young man's descent into a living hell at the hands of a dominatrix. I didn't read the whole thing, just bits here and there, but it was very powerful and intense stuff...the funny thing is, though, about that story and this one, is that I can't help feeling sorry for the young men involved...while the raped, victimized woman, who you'd think would have my sympathy, leaves me wanting to shake her by the scruff of the neck, yelling: LEAVE HIM ALONE!
Anyway, check this one out for its psychological realism and intensity, and keep an eye out for more episodes. (Note to author: I would have given this a flat A, but I knocked a half point off for falling out of point of view from Aislinn to Jake in several parts, which is easily fixable should you care to fix it. I strongly suggest to fix it--it would add to the professionalism of the piece.)
The Sultan's Heir, Parts 1, 2, 3 [A+]

Now we move on over to TG femdom territory with this excellently researched story by Tigger, which has been based on real events in the Byzantine Empire that occurred before the reign of the Sultan Mahmoud. The author may have been inspired by the mainstream historical novel "Valide."
A young boy, Selim, climbs a tree to catch a peak at the Sultan's harem. Unfortunately, he's found out and becomes part of a complicated plot by the Validah (the current Sultan's mother) to have her favorite grandson named as heir to the throne. However that favorite grandson is gay and is not up to producing a son, which is a requirement for Sultan-hood. So, after many arduous training sessions, teenage Selim becomes the girl Shamarra. Hidden among the harem concubines, no one suspects "she's" really a boy, so "she" can easily satisfy the desires of "her" master the Sultan, milk his seed, then give it to his legitimate wife so she can produce a child in the world's first artificial insemination. I told you the plot was Byzantine.
This was a very well-written and entertaining story which touches on many different aspects of sex, sexuality, and gender roles, yet is surprisingly bias- free. The author isn't pushing any agendas-- e.g., all men SHOULD feminized at the hands of women to show them their place, or the world would be a better place IF men explored their feminine, submissive sides, or that all men are cruds and women are the superior sex. The story simply is; it tells a tale, and lets you draw your own conclusions. Admittedly, it is a little drier, a little more honest and historical than some TG stories I've seen; the self-satisfied, smirky tone of Vickie Tern's shorts has the subtlety of a drunk drag queen yelling epithets at you six o'clock in the morning. TG has certain themes that speak to us all, but they're better handled with restraint.
This piece was reposted by another party and not the author, but I don't think Tigger would mind, going by the preface comments written in earlier stories he or she has written.

The nameless male narrator has been captured by a sexy nameless female and imprisoned in her cold, dark dungeon. He is sexually stimulated and sexually tortured. Not by wimpy methods such as cock rings or corsets, but by brutal, sustained torture with vises and clamps, wire brushes, acid, urine, and the creme de la creme, a hatpin through the tongue. He grows progressively weaker, and the story ends with him waiting for whatever fate comes next. Probably death.
Not everyone likes this. As the author says, "I can't even claim it to be an exploration of evil, injustice, betrayal, and helplessness in the face of a malign fate, as I intend some of my other work to be (in addition to something to inspire lust and/or fear), this is a fantasy purely..eh, solely intended to inspire lust and/or fear)." Well said. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who would recoil in horror from the very IDEA of this story, but stick their heads out car windows to gawk at a bloody traffic accident, or were thrilled by seeing Harrison Ford beaten up ad infinitum in the recent movie trailer for "Airforce One."
For those who like intensity in their fiction, check this out. It's very good. Just don't let spouses, partners, or children catch you reading it.

Contrary to some peoples' opinions, I'm not a big Star Trek fan. I have a mild like for it, but I wouldn't call myself a trekkie. However, I have watched enough episodes of "Star Trek: Voyager" for me to relate to this story. It's very good, both as fanfic and as a heated lesbian encounter.
It's the story's premise that Captain Janeway has been lovers with half Klingon, half human-Hispanic engineer B'ehlanna Torres for some time, and the difference in their stations has caused some subtle tensions in the relationship. B'ehlanna attempts to defuse these by engaging in a bit of B/D with her captain. Kathryn is spreadeagled to the bed by a force field and has her buns worshipped, then whipped, by the half-Klingon as she's dressed in the Captain's uniform; then Kathryn goes to town on her lover's pussy. Both wind up very satisfied.
This story also upholds one of the great traditions of Star Trek fanfiction--the Kirk/Spock story, or K/S among its fans. These stories, most of which were written years before the internet, were about a sexual relationship between Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock. They ranged from the lightly romantic to pornographic and had many fans, most of them straight women, who published them in fanzines and distributed them at conventions. What makes this story so interesting is that the male author (?) depicts the same wildly disparate (age, race, rank, background, physical appearance, etc.) sexual relationship between two *female* Trek characters...a couple that is the opposite sex of the Kirk/Spock one but in most other aspects the same. So it's a "role reversal" in more ways than one.
The author has also written other ST:V stories, and I suspect they're all as good as this one.

A put-upon, rather average, more-than-a-little-nerdy teenage boy goes through the teenage travail of having too many hormones and not knowing what to do with them. He hears his yuppie neighbors fucking, which gets him hot and frustrates him even further. After the greatest orgasm of his young life, his mother makes him deliver a mis-sent letter to a neighbor, and by accident he takes it to the apartment of "Tar" (Taria?) and "Marc," the yuppies who gave him the show. He meets "Tar" in the flesh, with embarassing (for him) and hilarious (for us) results.
I really dig the contemporary youth culture references in this story. It's a welcome, intelligent change after eye-sprinting through electronic stacks of drivel about perpetually perky-titted coeds and studs with 12-inch cocks who could've been sucked up a time warp from 1956. The references to porn, and the Gen-X background that makes fun of them, are just as much fun as BronwenSM's "Sam's Bad Day" a week back. And for once a fictional teenager in a sex story acts like a real teenager, thinking in terms of Borg, comic book heroes, ejaculations, and public humiliation for the unwary.
I haven't read much by Taria aside from her nose-thumbing poems. I remember thinking the letter story was a little silly. But I liked this one a lot...it shows an exuberant New Jersey crassness. (I caught the Great Adventure ref.) But someone please tell me what Saturday morning cartoon "Form of a gazelle! Shape of an ice cube! " was from, or it's going to bug me all month.

Don't be put off by the title of this one. It was very entertaining, and also concerns the hormones of teenage boys. A good one to read after the one above.
This story, which the author says is taken from a real-life experience, is about the adventures of an American teaching couple in a Jamaican school. The narrator's wife has a habit of wearing a thin tank top which exposes her breasts, and they soon discover what a turn-on it is for her teenage male students. She exposes more and more of her breasts over the semester, to her husband's, and her own, pleasure...and the pleasure of her male students as well. At the end of the year the couple is leaving the island, so the students throw them a party at which she shows her three favorite boys the whole shebang, and they are amazed because they've never a white woman's breasts before! This sounds racist but it's really just culture clash. I can vouch for the reality of this experience, as for a few years I worked for a company that placed teachers in overseas schools.
This story could use some shaping and pruning, but it was delightful nonetheless. I encourage the author to write more.

I don't know if the author posted this in response to my call for female fur stories or not, but there it was. A few years back there was a popular spiritual self-growth book called "Women Who Run with the Wolves." This story should have been called "Women Who Fuck with the Wolves."
Elvira (yes, the horror movie hostess) tells this story in first-person present tense. She lives in a cabin and one night a pack of wolves breaks in. The pack leader takes her for his mate and they have sex together. Obviously, you can't take this story too seriously, and neither did the writer. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. I would have liked more emotional, visual and tactile descriptions of the sex than "He makes one final thrust of his powerful body and I scream YES, YES, YES!!! That's it, baby keep it up, OH PLEASE, OH PLEASE GIVE ME ALL OF YOUR CUM - SHOOT ME UP!!!" This was an original idea, but it needs a more dignified treatment and, let's face it, a plot.
It's also really annoying when WRITERS USE ALL CAPS LIKE THIS FOLLOWED BY THREE EXCLAMATION POINTS!!! to emphasize exciting parts of the text.

In last week's Annex Reviews I speculated on the reasons why a woman would fantasize about having sex with a cross-dressed man rather than another woman. Here's another one: She doesn't have a sexual interest in women but wants to explore what it feels like to have mutually satisfying sex that is tender, yet hot, with herself as the dominant partner. As most men wouldn't stand for being a pretty love-toy in their masculine role, they are "feminized" to make the fantasy work. I don't know if this reason makes sense to anyone or not, but it sounds plausible to me.
I have thought now and then of putting my boyfriend in a dress, but he just isn't pretty enough.

This story made me laugh. I wonder if it was meant to be a kind of Asian femdom.
The callow 18-year-old narrator is very happy to rent his first apartment, but soon loses his job and finds he can't pay the rent. Mrs. Pang, his landlady, comes up to complain. She is short, middle-aged, stocky, Chinese, and very domineering. The narrator soon finds himself licking her pussy to make up the missing rent.
I live in a city with a large Asian population and I have many Asian friends, so when I encountered Mrs. Pang I experienced a sense of deja vu. She's real. I've met her in real life. She don't take no shit from NOBODY. There were a few awkward uses of English in this story--"non- caring lifestyle." "She said with little interest"--and I've never heard any of my Chinese or Korean friends say "looky." They don't have problems with adding the "ing" on the ends of words. But otherwise this was a fun read with a good use of dialogue, and there's a clever ending, too.

Here's another short story by a four-letter author whose name ends with "i." A busy executive buys a very special desk. He tethers his slave underneath it so she can service him with her mouth as he holds meeting in his office, with no one the wiser.
I liked this idea, but it needs more development and rounding out...like why the couple are risking the danger of discovery, what it feels like for a man to keep himself from coming in the midst of a boring meeting (did the other guys wonder why he was squirming so much?) and what it would feel like for the woman to be crammed in the leg-space of a desk penetrated by two vibrators and treated as indifferently as one of those automatic foot-massaging machines that were the rage a few years back.
Theme Park Punk Hunk - Part III [A-/B+]

I couldn't find Part I and II of this story, but Part III, the conclusion, was pretty good.
The narrator is in his mid-twenties and works as a doctor's aide. He's been having an affair with 19-year-old Chris (the "amusement park hunk" of the title?) It's Chris's first gay affair, and the narrator has to show him the ropes (not THOSE ropes, silly.) The problem is Chris's friend Aaron also has a crush on him. Events take a tragic turn, though things eventually end happily for all concerned. The story was oddly written in that it suddenly switched from a third to first person narrative and the dialogue was jumbled up into long, single paragraphs, which may be a fault of the server. But I liked how the emotional drama and repercussions of "coming out" were balanced with the sex in this story. It had a sweet, wistful tone that seemed to be wish fulfillment on the part of the author.
Sometimes the heart writes what the mind can't or won't do in real life.
