A Thing of Beauty : written by the beautiful and talented carlee, one of my favourite writers of all time. Carlee's sensitive, simple style is utterly enchanting and completely addictive. The first time I read one of her stories it didn't really register how good it was; hours, even days later, though, I found myself unable to get it out of my mind, having to go back and re-read it over and over again.
Understories: the inimitable Mr Djian's superb collection of BDSM stories. I was delighted to get an email from him recently saying his site was back in action after being down for a while. Simply the most comprehensive and best collection of BDSM stories on the net...
Natalie Nessus : Natalie has written some fantastic stories and her site is wonderful. What I love about her stories is the beautiful pace in them, neither too fast nor too slow. They build to a really thrilling read.
Fetishdoll : the one and only Paula, sassiest woman on the web, who held my hand when I took my first tentative steps into internet erotica, watching out for me, warning about the "bad people" out there. I think she just wanted me for herself... Now that her excite storyboard has been wiped, she has set herself up with a website on asstr. Go and investigate...
asstr : of course, the biggest and best resource for the independent writer. Well worth your support.
Ladies Web.net : a largish site designed "by a bisexual woman for women, regardless of their sexuality." You seem to have to click forever to get to the stories, but there's some good stuff once you get there.
Naked Books by Ray Gordon: an excellent collection of stories by a professional writer from England
Dark Pen : includes the magnificent series in progress, Office Games, which I reckon is one of the best dom/sub stories I've read.
Serene Cherry's Stories: an exciting collection of lesbian stories featuring a variety of dishy young girls
The Kristen Archive: a huge collection of stories, categorised for easy retrieval, and frequently updated. A wonderful site.

your hard-earned cash on all sorts of fine erotica...
Slave: "Since 1994 the oldest and largest true bdsm and fetish site on the net, winner of countless media awards and a reputation for quality and integrity unsurpassed in the industry." Says it all. Lots and lots of brilliant stuff, this site is a labour of love. Wonderful.
On Our Backs : a great lesbian mag. This e-version is designed to promote the hard copy magazine, with pieces taken from it. Excellent stuff, with stories, pictures and features.
libido : a good collection of stories, reviews and stuff, and links to some genuinely erotic images
Java Boutique: this site has some brilliant and easy to instal java applets which can jazz up your site. I don't do a lot of java myself, as it slows the site up a bit, which you have to be careful about with uncertain server capacity, but there are great ideas here, nonetheless.
Bare Bones Guide to HTML : by Kevin Werbach. Good beginners advice and help.
Coloriser : one of my favourite sites. I spend ages playing with this, looking at the different colours you can create.
Javascript : a useful collection of easy to use javascripts for buttons, games, web page devices etc. Even I can use some of them, so they can't be that difficult.
Clicksmilies: a wonderful, comprehensive and very silly collection of Smileys...
Harriet's chatroom : I try to get in here a couple of times a week, usually on Mondays and Thursdays, but I don't get much time. Remember that I'm from the UK, so all you Americans are four, five or six hours behind me: you'll have to try in the afternoons to get hold of me. This room is hosted by French Kiss
French Kiss : strangely full of Dutch people, although their English is usually faultless. If you get really bored, set up your own chatroom, with a provocative title such as "Use Me" and wait for the hordes to appear... Select Channel to change channels.
Couples Best Friend: can't vouch for the service, since it's in the US and I'm in the UK, but they seem a friendly and genuine bunch of people, and this looks like a good place to purchase those dildos, vibrators and other things which you would want to arrive through your letterbox in anonymous brown paper...
Section 12: a comprehensive BDSM resource, with articles, discussion groups, weblogs and various resources relating to the scene. A good place to get lost in for an hour or so...
Edmonton O Society: this is a fantastic site which I came across after they mentioned mine. Their mission is to: "serve as a social, educational, and support group for adults in the Edmonton area who have a genuine and personal interest in consensual, erotic BDSM." Happily, through the wonders of the web, you don't have to be based in Edmonton (not that I'm saying there's anything wrong with Edmonton, it's just that I'm several thousands miles away...) to enjoy the fruits of their labour. Lots and lots of brilliant links (and mine).
Pinocchia.com: an extraordinary site, which I didn't know where to put in my links list. Sometimes slow to load, but stick with it. It says it is the site where pinocchio and porn come together. It is simply wonderful: hilarious and bizarre and truly, truly fantastic. Anyone who has read my stories will know I'm a sucker for a big nose, but this is ridiculous...
The Temple of Clitoris: another very, very funny site, but with lots of useful learning content. (Oh God, can you tell I work in education?) "Thousands of years ago," the site tells us "the Phoenicians worshipped the clitoris. The Temple of Clitoris is proud to continue that tradition." And so they do, debunking myths and giving some very useful (guys, take note please) tips on what to do with one. Brilliant stuff.
Erotic Readers Association : a brilliant site, one of the best resources for independent writers, with a host of useful info, including a frequently updated list of calls for story submissions, from e- and hard copy magazines. A must visit site.
Amatory Ink : this site sells erotic e-books, but also includes a page of links to free author sites (Personal Homepages) which is clearly vetted for quality and includes some terrific sites (plus mine...), helpful resources for writers, and some other stuff with fast loading pages and a distinct lack of banner ads.
femme erotic : an independent network of erotic sites, focussing on quality work.
