Summerisle

This is the story of how the Sweetman family; Sam, Caroline and their Children Toby, Tara and Tabitha all move to England and the rural village of Summerisle . The family has moved to the village for Sam’s new job, which is to oversee the legal business of Lord Summerisle, the head of the village’s ruling family.  

There is something odd about the village as the Sweetman’s soon discover; a languid air and a palpable atmosphere of sexual looseness. Soon every member of the family is experiencing a change in there attitudes and a abandonment of the morals they brought with them over the ocean.  

Fans of classic horror movies and pagans of all sorts might recognize the name Summerisle. I’ll admit it, I loved The Wicker Man particularly the idea of paganism flourishing in the modern world. However when it comes to stereotypes of pagans I prefer rampant lust to human sacrifice. The film could have used less horror and more naked dancing for my tastes.  

I still love the name Summerisle though it just sounds right, and so I used it. I suppose I could have given the name Howie to Toby, Tara and Tabi’s father but I thought better of it.

One last thing: I could not have written this story without the incredibly useful editing from Nizzgrrl. She is fantastic, if she had a website I’d link you to it but she doesn’t. I just want to state here that she is the absolute best. And now the story…
