It has taken some time, but I've decided I like me. Enough people have e-mailed me, chatted on ICQ, or patted my back in real life that I actually believe I might have a tiny smattering of talent; I might have used some of it to craft my stories. Yes, they finally convinced me that I Don't Suck At This.

Now, they haven't quite persuaded me that I'm good at it. I see too many flaws in my own writing to go that far. I also (as my other spotlights point out) see way too many writers who are good at it, who write so much better than I, to believe that I'll ever be more than "better than average."

Still...

I am one of my favorite authors. I hope someday I might be one of yours.

Update 6/3/05: It's official. I now consider myself "semi-retired" from writing. The reason why is in Al Steiner's Spotlight - I had a heart attack for Christmas. I just haven't found the energy to devote to my former hobbies. I say "semi" retired because I may find more time at some later date.
