Note for reviewers.

I think a lot of writers hate reviewers. I don't. If I didn't want the feedback they can provide I would not put the (*) in front of the posting to invite reviews, or I would not read the reviews.

However, I wish the reviewers would stick to reviewing and not editorialise. A reviewer should review a story in such a way that a reader would get a neutral description of what this story is about and get some idea of the quality of the story.

I need the reviews in order to get better. I don't need comments based upon somebody's lack of understanding of the situation which I am writing about. I come from a small country, with a very different attitude towards sexual relationships than for instance the US. For instance, when Celeste writes about her view on bikini sizes and the way they are worn, she can never have seen a Danish beach. That is okay, but why spend time commenting on something she knows nothing about? Why does she insist on comparing a story with football and baseball, both being sports which are not played very much in Europe? Where is the relevance to my story? I can't use that to improve, and I don't think potential readers will get any idea about the story based upon such a comparisism.

I am not writing with a desire to become a professional "perfect" writer. I am writing what is on my mind, in the best way I know how. I can see from the mails I receive and the number of downloads and visitors that what I write appeal to a considerable number of people. That is what I use to judge if people like my stories. The reviewers I need to be able to get the story across in a better way. Please, dear reviewers, help me in that way - and don't condemn the circumstances under which I write.

Thanks

Jennifer
