I Feel Lucky by cmsix Chapter 37 Around six PM the train horns let us know Jacob and Bill were back from the driving lesson. Jacob came in grinning and I'd expected Bill to come in too. He didn't; I had to hurry outside and flag him down before he was gone so he could get us lined out for the new driveway's placement. "Why don't I back out again and take a little better shot, then I'll leave it in place for the contractor? He should be able to get a good idea of what's needed if the truck's here. Just remind him that all the wheels won't follow the same path out as they did in. He'll need to allow room for all the tracks I've been leaving," he said. We called Mom out to make sure it was what she had in mind and she was fine with it. Bill parked it in what he considered the best place and shut it down. I took him back to the dealership so he could get his pickup. When I returned it was time for something to eat. Tolishanea and Kamakeata were serving steak, potatoes and beans again. They claimed growing boys needed plenty of red meat, and then ruined their serious demeanor when Kamakeata said that Jacob and I already had plenty of pink meat, swinging. The phone rang just as we'd finished eating and Mom picked it up. After hello, she listened for a few seconds and then said, "Hang on, I need to move to the study so we can talk." She pressed the hold button and hung up the phone. "That's Tiffany, Tom Dalrymple's air headed trophy wife, she's worried about the train noise and wondered if I'd heard it. She's already called the railroad; they told her there were no trains near enough for her to hear. She's very confused and can't reach Tom on the phone. I'll talk to her for a while and calm her down. "Francis called after we got back, she's already made a deal for both houses and I'm sure that Tiffany doesn't know about it yet. She'll know tomorrow, the closing is in your Dad's office at two PM. She and Jennifer Jackson will both have to sign, or make their mark, if they can't write," Mom said, laughing as she headed for the study. We hung out in the kitchen teasing and flirting while Mom was on the phone. She came back about twenty minutes later and she hadn't even reached the kitchen before the phone rang again; she picked it up. "Hello." "Jennifer, what's up sweetie? Give me a few seconds to change phones," Mom told her, as she hit the hold again. "I guess Jennifer is afraid of trains too, I'll be back," she said, as she headed to the study again. "I didn't even know that Mom knew those women," I said, to the room. "She talks to them every day or two. She says they need guidance. Shelia and I met both of them, Mom made us visit once. They're not the brightest bulbs on the tree, but they are pretty and really built. I don't think either one is twenty-two yet," Shelly said. "I'd be surprised if they aren't both still virgins," Shelia said, "Tom and Greg are both older than Daddy, and they seem a little limp in the wrist to me." "They may be, I've always thought they were perverts," Shelly said. "Maybe, but we don't really know much about them. I guess we've missed our chance if Mom has bought their houses," Shelia said, giggling. "I'll get over it," Shelly said, giggling too. "I'm sure that Mr. Dalrymple and Mr. Jackson are fine upstanding gentlemen. If they prefer the company of other gentlemen it is certainly their choice, and it's nice of them to provide such comfortable homes for Jennifer and Tiffany. Besides, it leaves their wives free to bump fuzz with Jacob and me. It's just too bad we didn't know about it a little earlier," I said. "I guess Jennifer doesn't know about the sale yet either. She didn't mention it," Mom said, when she got back. "We were just talking about how we'd miss our neighbors," Shelly said. "And Jimmy was sad that he never did the nasty with either one of them," Shelia said, laughing at me. "Miss them, you don't even know them. I think I'll invite them to dinner next week. I'm sure Tom and Greg will be too busy to come, but Tiffany and Jennifer would probably love to get out of their houses. Those old queers keep them on pretty short leashes. "Told you," Shelia said. "Told me what?" Mom asked. "I told the others that Tom and Greg were both funny." "That's the word going around, but I don't think they ring each other's chimes. Anyway, it won't hurt to have their wives over to let Jimmy and Jacob get a look and feel of them. I'm sure they could use a little exposure to someone who might rub something hard against them," Mom said, laughing. "Aw Mom, they're not gonna come over here and get naked." "You never can tell, Jimmy. I seem to remember that you do a good job on a gal that's wined up," Mom said, teasing me. "He isn't the only one, if you show up tipsy around Jacob, you can lose track of your panties before you know it," Holly said. "Holly and I are going to need a little relief before long, too. Now that he's over his funk, Jacob is making up for missed pussy. I'm not complaining, but Kim isn't out here nearly enough and I think we could use a Tiffany or a Jennifer to help out a little," Jenny said. Jacob and I had the decency to blush, but I wasn't embarrassed. Wine had spread more than one pair of legs for me, and now, one specific type of fucking meant I could count on them spreading their legs anytime I wanted them to. I kept that thought to myself though. The more I used this technique I'd discovered, the more I liked it. I already had plenty of willing women around and I'd only been at it for a couple of weeks. And the bonus of no jealously and minimum backtalk was great. It wasn't like they wouldn't let me know if I was doing something they didn't approve of; they would, but they wouldn't keep harping on it after I told them no. I had the feeling that I was one of the very few males in the world that had that kind of cooperation. I was glad to have it and getting gladder by the second. How many guys have a beautiful mother and beautiful twin sisters that they're fucking, along with nine other gorgeous women and a sexy fourteen year old girl they're screwing too. Not to mention that they all know about and approve of each other. I was betting there weren't any others. We went to the TV room and watched a chick flick for the girls. After it was over we headed to bed where mine made it up to me. April and June must have really enjoyed the movie because they were especially enthusiastic about thanking me. I feel confident that Jacob's Mom and Aunt made him feel better about it too. The next morning I was up early and standing outside by my new truck before seven AM. Scott Jackson and his crew arrived right at seven and he walked over to me. "Good morning, Jimmy, you're up early. What have you got here?" he asked, waving toward the truck. "It's a tale in itself," I said. I told him how I'd acquired the truck and then the trailer. Lastly I told him how we were about to become cattle ranchers since I already had the bull rack and Mom liked it. Then I gave him the news about the driveway. He laughed a little but called one of his hands over to stake it out. I left them at it and went inside to see if there was any breakfast yet. Was there ever. I'd just finished stuffing myself when someone knocked at the front door. I went to see about it and it was Scott. "We've got the driveway staked out, come take a look and see if it's what you had in mind," he said. I did and it was. He asked me to back the truck out of the way so that they could get started. "My lessons haven't advanced to backing yet. Can you drive it?" "Sure, where do you want to park it?" he asked. "Along the curb I guess." He opened the door and got in, looked around again and got back out. "That transmission is out of my league, Jimmy. I've driven big trucks before but none with anything like that. I don't think I should try it," he said. "I'll call Bill and see if he can come move it for us." They called Bill to the phone right away and I told him the problem. "I guess backing needs to be your next lesson. I'll come right over and move it out of the way," he said. Scott said he'd already called the landscaper to come and take up the grass and then he went around to the back, where his men were working. Bill got there within half an hour and he'd just parked the truck when the landscaper arrived. I thanked Bill and then fetched Scott to give the landscapers the scoop. I followed him back to where they were working. "I took some just in case precautions when I built this house. Both ends are in good shape to be taken off and get extensions. "I couldn't imagine that they would ever need anymore space, but when you have two extra truckloads of stone, you might as well count on using it sooner or later. "We used a different mortar on the ends, it looks the same but it isn't as strong. We'll be able to reuse all the stone without a big hassle cleaning it," he said. "I hope it comes down faster this way too." "Not really, since we do have to do some cleaning, but we can use unskilled labor for that and keep the main guys working on the important stuff. "I guess you're going to need a good bit of fence built, if you're going to keep your new cows off the runway," he said. "I hadn't thought of that, but count on it. I don't want to have to land among them." "I'll probably sub that out but I'll do a little planning tonight to see what it looks like on the plat," he said. "While you're looking, you might as well include the two adjoining properties, Mom bought them both yesterday," I told him. "Man, they both have some acreage with them. Is fence all we'll need to build there?" he asked. "I hadn't even thought of that. I'll have to ask mother; let me go see if she's up yet." I found Mom and the others eating, but they were nearly through. I asked her about the other houses and was shocked by her answer. "I never did like either one of those tacky things. I want Scott to get rid of them," she said, at once. "What about the stuff in them?" "They'll be taking their things and if there's anything left that's useable, we'll look at it. I doubt I'll want any of it though. Maybe Scott can get some good out of it," she said. I started to go and ask him about it but decided that I'd be running back and forth for nothing much. Mom could just give it to him straight, but I wanted to be there to see the look on his face when he heard it. When Mom got around to telling him, I was there, and he was shocked. He didn't mention it but I knew he was thinking that neither house was over eight years old. Then Mom hit us both with the real bomb. "I'll be looking at some plans to replace them. How quickly do I need to decide?" she asked. "You've got at least three months, and if you don't come up with something before then, I can take a short contract somewhere to give you more time," he said. "I don't think it will take me that long to make up my mind, and if it does you can work on the barns and things until I do. Will you have to order more of this stone for them?" she asked, waving at the stone on our house. "Ah, you want to use the stone veneer on the barns?" he asked, and it look like he gulped. "Oh yes, I really like the look. We'll want to use it on both the new houses too," Mom said. "What size and how many barns do you think you'll need?" "I'm not sure about the size, but I want them to look like they go with the houses. We'll need at least one for each house, even if the houses might not be in place when you build the barns. It won't hurt a thing if you scatter a few extra barns and workshops around, and I think Jimmy said something about a shooting range, he'll need some type of buildings for that. You'd better get plenty of the stone," Mom said. "I hadn't considered it before, but what about the hangar and the building to park the fuel trailer," Scott asked. "I'm glad you mentioned them, I'd forgotten. I'll want it all to look like it belongs together, try to get some type of theme in mind so everything seems to be another barn. I don't want them to take away from the houses and I don't want anything out back looking odd, and make sure they're all big enough," Mom said, and it sounded almost like a warning. "Tell you what, Mrs. Breslin, I'm going to make sure that the men have enough to keep them busy for the rest of the day and then I'm going home to do some more work on the plans, and to hire some more men," Scott said. "That's good Scott, I know it will take a while longer than you expected, since there is all the extra work being added, but I hope you can keep it moving along," she said. "That's what I had in mind. I know that you like to keep the jobs going when you have something you want done." He excused himself then and headed around back to talk to his men. I followed Mom back into the house, trying not to laugh. The phone rang and after answering it Mom motioned to me. "It's for you, Jimmy, it's Bill Green," Mom said. "Hi Bill." "Mr. Carpenter wanted me to call and make sure that you didn't need me for anything else. He heard that I'd had to come out there and he wants to make sure that you are well taken care of," Bill said, laughing. "Hey, it's up to you. I don't want to be a bother. Jacob and I are anxious for more lessons but I don't want to cause you any trouble down there," I said. "We can talk about that when I get there. It shouldn't take me over thirty minutes," he said. I found Jacob after hanging up and told him the good news. We were trying to decide who would go first when Mom asked us what was happening, so we told her about the lessons for both of us with only one truck. "Well doesn't Mr. Baugus have any more trucks on his lot?" she asked. "He has several, no more like ours, but he has plenty," I told her. "Well get one to practice with until he can get us a duplicate for the one we already have. We can hide the spare out in one of the new barns or something after the real one gets here. That reminds me, our truck doesn't have a winch on the front or back," she said. I wanted to scream and I was beginning to get sick of winches. I wish I'd never opened my mouth to Fitzsimmons about that first one. I was tired of them, but I knew better than to mention it. "I'll ask Bill about that when he gets here. I'm not sure we can do anything about getting one on the back but he can probably get one for the front," I said, hoping that would satisfy her. "I'm sure that he can get one for the back too, Jimmy. I see them on those wreckers all the time and they're usually right back there between the stacks," Mom said. I managed not to groan. "Remember, you and Jacob have to be ready to go to Jack's office by one-thirty and you'll both need to be in your "Junior Lawyer" clothes," Mom said. "What are Junior Lawyer clothes?" Jacob asked. "I'm sorry, Jacob, you've fit in so well that I'd forgotten you hadn't been through that drill yet. My goodness, you don't even have an office. Scott is going to be so busy. I'd better call him too, but first we need to make sure you have something to wear today. "Shelly, you and Shelia and everyone, please come down here right away," she yelled toward the stairs. The madhouse was just getting revved up. In minutes everyone was with us and Mom was trying to formulate a plan. I had my getup on hand, but Jacob hadn't had much use for a suit before, even though he had one. Of course his wouldn't do. No one our age would buy anything like what was required without a fight. Shelly and Shelia said that he was almost my size exactly and that they could probably get him into one of mine in this emergency. "Remember, your legs outgrew the pants of one of your business suits, and Jacob isn't quite as tall as you are. He is stockier though, so they may be too tight, we'll just have to see," Shelia and Shelly both said, looking Jacob over carefully. "I'll call the tailor and get him right out here," Mom said. Shelia, Shelly, Holly and Jenny took Jacob upstairs despite his pleas about his upcoming driving lesson. "Dad doesn't bother us much about work, Jacob, but when we have to make an appearance it has to be right," Shelia told him. "Mom, what about a briefcase for Jacob?" I asked. "We can get by without it this time. We'll get down there early and put you and Jacob in your office before anyone from outside the firm arrives. The briefcase is your Dad's little fixation anyway, and if he hasn't provided one for Jacob I don't see how he can complain," Mom said, putting a tinge of attitude in her voice just as the phone rang again. "Hello. That's fine, Marsha, we were just discussing it. You'd better stop by and get him a Rolex too, one like Jimmy's. You have, wonderful. Hold just a second please," Mom said. "Jimmy, go ask Jacob what size shoe he wears," Mom told me. "I already know that answer; he wears eight and a half D, the exact size I do. He has small feet too," I said. "Did you hear, Marsha, eight and a half D; get a pair larger and smaller just in case. I think everything else is covered; we'll be waiting," Mom said and hung up. "That was Marsha. Jacob's real briefcase hasn't come in yet but she bought what she called and "emergency" replacement this morning and she's bringing it out. She also got him a Rolex that's similar to yours. They're paying more attention down there than I thought. "We can take care of everything now, you go with Bill and get another truck and trailer so the lessons for you two can go faster," Mom said. "Speaking of lessons, when is our home schooling going to start?" I asked. "Holly and Jenny have everything ordered, but it may be another week or so before the rest of the equipment gets here. When I called George to prod him, he complained about the service provider and a T3, whatever that is. Jeff puts me off with excuses about Athlon 64s and motherboards. "They promised me it would be in place in a week or ten days." "I don't understand all that," I said. "I don't either, and I'm not sure that Holly and Jenny do. They were trying to order some textbooks when I remembered George had said once that almost everything was online now. I called him and told him to get Holly and Jenny everything they wanted. I didn't think we needed a bunch of textbooks sitting around in the way." There was a knock at the door then and it was Bill. I was relieved to be leaving the confusion. I kissed Mom goodbye, then Bill and I got in my Hummer and made ourselves scarce. "Help me remember to be home by one PM please," I said. "I thought we were going to do some more driving today," he said. "I did too, but we have other fish to fry now. Mom decided it was silly for Jacob and I to learn with only one truck. We need to find something that will do until Mr. Baugus can get us a twin for the one we have already," I told him. Bill laughed but it wasn't all that funny. "Don't think you're getting off that easy. She wants winches on them all too, front and back," I said, feeling better. "We're going to have hell putting a working winch on the rear of those trailers," he said. "That isn't what she has in mind, thank God. She wants them on the back of the tractors, like on wreckers." "No problem there then, but we'll have to have some bumpers made for the front. That really doesn't matter either, in fact, I have something in mind already." "Good. I can't believe how sorry I am that I ever mentioned the winches to her," I said. "Don't worry about it, we'll get everything sorted out. I'm wondering if I should be trying to get Carpenter set up to buy a truck lot," he said. "I don't know, it may be too late for him now. Does he have a daughter?" I asked, and kept a straight face somehow. Bill gave me such a look and then he lost it laughing. That set me off and I had to pull over for a few minutes until we could straighten up. He set me off again though. "Yes, and she's a beauty too. She's about to finish her first year at Stephens, she got an early start somehow, she's just turned seventeen," he said. "Well, he might not be out of the running then," I said, but we were nearly laughed out by now. "I wouldn't put anything past you. I was sure that Kathy would be upset with the talk about Karen, but she was delighted. I don't understand," he said, and looked at me a little strangely. "She knows she has me wrapped around her little finger, she probably just wants to tease me about it," I said, trying to nip this in the bud. I was happy that we'd finally made it to the truck place. Mr. Baugus was headed our way before we could even get out of the Hummer. I hoped this wasn't going to turn into a Fitzsimmons type of thing, but when I thought about the money end of the deal I knew it had to. "Hi Mr. Baugus," I said, since he reached me first. "Jimmy, please call me George," he said. "Ok." "Your mother called me, while you were headed here, I guess. She explained some of the things she had in mind," he said.
