New Fiction

Bookgirl Downunder

This is a work in progress inspired by the suggestions and stories of a friend from Australia. Chapter 5 has been thoroughly rewritten to include substantial changes in the direction of the plot.

Prefect Power

A reminescence about a true-life spanking I received in my final year of school.

BDSM Limits Lists

Traditionally these have been presented like a multiple choice quiz to determine what people will and won't do in a BDSM scene and their levels of interest in specific activities. If you're anything like me (hates being locked into decision making or anything else that might limit improvisation) you'll have probably dismissed these lists as being not relevant. But they can have uses. It all depends on how they're used. In this essay I'd like to share a way I've found to use limits lists without having them diminish the spontaneity of play.

New Games

Traffic Lights

If there's one aspect of BDSM that I like the most, it's playing games. The games I enjoy most are those that involve some kind of random or unpredictable outcome. Naturally, card and dice games have always featured often but somebody recently suggested one that involves traffic lights!

" Good girls keep diaries..."

Bad girls don't have the time. Or so said Mae West. I've always kept diaries :)

"I just wanted to write you back and let you know that your web page is the first place I have seen online that mixes true natural lifestyle emotion with creativity and erotica. Please keep on doing what you are doing." - Master G

I've had a lot of email from a lot of different people over the past couple of weeks. It gets difficult sometimes to fully respond to each and every person who writes although I do try and answer all mail I receive. Master G (quoted above) sent me a really long and very nice letter about lots of things. Obviously, I'm not going to share the details of that correspondence here, but I would like to publicly thank him and everybody else who has sent similar comlplimentary words.

Over the years, I've created and deleted a lot of websites and Yahoo groups. All could be described along the lines Master G cites: "(a mix of) true, natural lifestyle emotion with creativity and erotica."

As you might imagine, mixing all those ingredients and trying to find the right balance of each takes a lot of time and energy. So, it's always a deeply satisfying pleasure to be complimented. It's the emotional sustinence I need to continue doing what I'm doing.

In the past, I used to get very depressed when my time and effort seemed to go unnoticed. Believe it or not, it can be a very lonely existence trying to please people online, particularly for authors of erotica. In this lonely little corner of cyberspace, any feedback received is encouraging. Some authors describe this feedback as the Blow Job Principle (sort of a variation on Oscar Wilde's "a bad review is better than none at all." ) So, to all the people who visit my site and send me little notes of encouragement, I thank you sincerely.

Speaking of Thanks

Desdmona, a fine author of erotica in her own right, recently created a wonderful site called The Fish Tank . It has been set up primarily for authors to critique each others' work, but its appeal should extend to authors and readers alike. I've submitted one of my stories I'm currently working on for evaluation and the feedback I received was impressive. So impressive, that I totally re-evaluated that particular story as well as my whole writing career direction.

I'd also like to thank the good people at ASSTR ( see side bar on right. ) Seriously, my website and my motivation to continue writing would not exist if it wasn't for the generosity of my host. Hosting a story archive site the size of ASSTR costs a lot of money not to mention time and effort as well. All of this is provided to you totally free. However, your patronage (in the form of a voluntary donation) would go a long way to ensuring this and all the websites hosted by them remain free. To find out how you can help, CLICK HERE

About Me

I'm a happily married woman working in the academic field who enjoys art, reading, music and simple romantic pleasures such as picnics and walks on the beach. Fairly ordinary, really.

About Serendipity

By definition it is " the faculty of making fortunate discoveries by accident. " It's a word that I think is succinct in the way it explains how I came to discover my interests in BDSM, in particular, my submissive nature. I was nearly thirty tears old before I began to feel free to express this part of me and a further nine of so before I started to really feel comfortable with my desires. None on this might have happened if it hadn't been for a chance meeting with the man I ultimately married. This in itself could be described as happenstance - my second favorite word :)
